In reply to: Suffusion Theme Compatibility Problems
@hughshields first thing, back up the theme folder in your server to your hard drive.
– Deactivate the Suffusion Template Pack plugin
– Delete the following folders, if any, from your Suffusion theme folder in server: /activity, /blogs, /forums, /groups, /members, and /registration

In reply to: Custom Template@buddhatunes Are you using a bp-default child theme or a WordPress theme? And which BP or WP page are you referring to?
In reply to: Buddypress pages Blank@sheratonwalls From what WP/BP version did you upgrade and to what WP/BP version? Theme used? Plugins activated? Have you tried changing to Twenty Twelve theme and deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress?

@cortttt Sure. Use BuddyPress Extended Profile Fields to highlight the best of your community https://codex.buddypress.org/buddypress-components-and-features/extended-profiles/
Make sure that Extended Profiles is checked in wp-admin Settings > BuddyPress > ComponentsAt the top of the sections would be a running total…total years lost to illness
Check out https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-xprofile-custom-fields-type/ and then customize the plugin to include the running total years lost to illness or use/rename birthday field
In reply to: Problem notification number on admin bar@profc backup and make sure you delete all the BP Template Pack files transferred to your theme folder in server https://codex.buddypress.org/themes/theme-compatibility-1-7/bp-17-upgrading-template-packed-themes/
@rickkumar Sorry, haven’t seen a theme with the all-in-one features you need. If you’re going to hire a developer, I suggest that they create the pinterest, instagram and twitter features as separate plugins which are BP-compatible. That way, you can change themes and keep the plugin features.
In reply to: Redirect to members page in buddypress plugin@mattadams premium theme clubs usually have forums support for its members. Have you tried searching the forums re BuddyPress compatibility or asking if theme author can provide it? We have no access to the premium file so have no clue what proprietary templating system it’s using that’s circumventing easy integration with BuddyPress.
One solution could be as simple as creating a buddypress.php file which contains the WordPress loop with the_title and the_content tags along with the necessary HTML structure and theme tags. You’d then upload that file to the root of your theme’s folder in server and that’s it.
Good luck!
In reply to: Site and admin log in disaapeared@rpatwall1206 WP/BP Versions? Single or Multisite? Have you tried renaming both the plugin and themes folder in server, then renaming them back again to correct folder names?
In reply to: No sidebars?@fpats BP works with nearly all WordPress themes. It doesn’t work perfectly in themes with proprietary templating systems but there’s a solution for that.
You can ask the theme author for a buddypress.php file which has the WP with the_title and the_content among the theme’s template tags for that specific theme. Upload that buddypress.php to the root of your theme folder in server and all BuddyPress components will use that file to autogenerate content.
In reply to: Two usability questions@zane 1a.) There is a reply link in every topic post if you’re using default bbPress forums in your installation.
e.g.1. In this topic you started, when you hover a post a line shows up on the bottom right corner of each post with different links including the “Reply” link which will bring you to the reply form at the bottom.
e.g.2. In this screenshot of a default forum topic layout you’ll see the “Reply” link along with other links are shown at the top of every post in that page.
Please check with your theme author why you’re not seeing the Reply link in your theme.
In reply to: Account Activation Email@asieger as hnla mentioned above, deactivate BuddyPress and BP plugins. Can you register/activate an account with BP deactivated?
In reply to: [Resolved] 404 error , HELP@rsix08 thank you for posting about the issue with the hide my wp plugin.
In reply to: Extending Groups – Design IdeasWe want to add Subjects (say Basic Maths) to the schools (groups). The requirement is that students should be able to search for schools offering that ‘subject’.
@sakthi31 what you need would require a custom plugin/solution, like adding custom field/s for groups https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/how-to-edit-group-meta-tutorial/ Please double-check the code/plugin in a test install before using in a live site.
In reply to: Two usability questions1) Reply button on what page exactly? Forum post or blog post? What theme are you using?
2) Group Forum posts do appear in that Group’s Activity Stream. If you want to disable forum/blog post commenting in the Activity Stream to prevent confusion and to have all the forum/blog post comments in one location, then go to Settings > BuddyPress > Settings – Activity Settings, and make sure that Blog & Forum Comments are not enabled (not checked).
In reply to: Avatar Upload Error – image BrokenIn reply to: How can I change the text to make it literate?@sooskriszta Cool. Thank you for creating the ticket and uploading the patch.
We’ll see more patches from you in the future, yes? 🙂In reply to: How can I change the text to make it literate?@sooskriszta
1. first create a folder in your hard drive e.g. buddypresstrunk/
2. Open that folder and then right-click and click on SVN Checkout in box which shows up
3. Then enter the link I gave above for BuddyPress trunk in the “URL Repository” input field which shows up and click OK button
4. Watch as files are added into that empty folderIn reply to: Cannot Get Registration page using headway themeclosing this duplicate of https://buddypress.org/support/topic/registration-page-issues/
In reply to: How can I change the text to make it literate?@sooskriszta https://make.wordpress.org/core/handbook/submitting-a-patch/
instead of downloading https://core.svn.wordpress.org/trunk/ via SVN, you’d need to download via SVN client https://buddypress.svn.wordpress.org/trunk/Then after you’ve tested the changes you’ve made in your test installation, log in and create a new ticket in https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ and upload that patch.
In reply to: Headway theme – Registration page and other issues@politiclear Since we don’t have access to this premium theme, pending the response of someone who has used Headway theme with BuddyPress, I recommend that have you check Headway theme forums if the theme is compatible with BuddyPress and/or if you need any modifications in the theme to make it compatible with BuddyPress. I have changed the title of this post to include Headway.
@protechs2 if you have an old theme, there’s a big possibility that it is JS conflict or more. I would install the Theme Check plugin, enable WP_DEBUG and go Appearance > Theme Check and select Fusion to to see if there are warnings and required information showing up. You can then fix it yourself or choose another theme. After you’re through with the Theme Check, disable WP_DEBUG
In reply to: One plugin not using the same template as the rest.@uabassguy no problem. Nothing wrong asking here. I pointed you to the theme’s forums so that you have a better chance of getting a response for that specific theme to work with a specific plugin 🙂
