@therandomguy12345 What theme are you using? Check out http://wpmu.org/how-to-build-a-facebook-style-members-only-wordpress-buddypress-site/
WP/BP versions? What theme are you using? What plugins are installed?

@theoptimystic If as you said in previous post that you enabled registration in Settings > General, then you might have a plugin that’s controlling your registration process.
Checking the source code of your home page, I see that there’s a pageline-buddypress plugin and the BP Template Pack plugin activated in your site. BP Template Pack plugin is no longer required as of BP 1.7 to make your theme compatible with BuddyPress. At least that’s true for nearly all WordPress themes. Deactivate those plugins, change to Twenty Twelve theme and check if issues are resolved.
In reply to: can't create groupsYou can add this somewhere in your theme:
<?php if ( is_user_logged_in() && bp_user_can_create_groups() ) : ?> <a class="button" href="<?php echo trailingslashit( bp_get_root_domain() . '/' . bp_get_groups_root_slug() . '/create' ); ?>">Create a Group</a> <?php endif; ?>In reply to: ie8 and ie9 big problemKnow that we are all volunteers living in different time zones.
BuddyPress does not enqueue any styles which would affect the layout of your theme. Have you tried checking out Yoo’s forums to see if there are others whose layouts were affected when BuddyPress was installed?

@chase8705 when you go to the register page while you’re still logged in, default behavior is to go to home page. Log out first before going to registration page.
In reply to: Invalid Activation Key@rjlucas do provide more information about your installation https://buddypress.org/support/topic/when-asking-for-support-2/
@sinetwo at this time, I only know of a premium plugin, Mapology, which is compatible with BuddyPress members/groups http://shop.shabushabu.eu/mapology.html

In reply to: 1.9 top features β ideasIt’s all cool. This is the Requests and Feedback forum π
@sooskriszta can share the enhancement tickets he/she posted in BuddyPress Trac and lobby for such, exercising first amendment rights. Ticket #5008 reminds me of the original BP theme which had the avatars of group admin/mod under the avatar with member avatars below it π
@fearracious glad you resolved the issue on your own π
Marking this as resolved. In reply to: can't create groups@carolinecalvert what theme are you using? Some themes have page titles which are not within the WP loop, hence BP cannot automagically insert the “Create Group” button beside the page title as seen https://mercime.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/groups-directory.png
On way is to create a link when user is logged in. You only need to append /create/ after your site’s group directory url, e.g. http://example.com/groups/create/
In upcoming BP version, the create a group link will also be added to the Member’s navigation in WP toolbar. If you’re adventurous, you can add the code to have those links already https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/7062

#1 – Profile > Edit in Member’s profile page and/or BuddyPress member account links in WP Toolbar?
#2 – Have you done some basic troubleshooting like deactivating plugins except BP and bbPress to check if activating emails are sent?In reply to: Help with merging Profile with Author in GeothemeI would like to merge my members Profile with the author βprofileβ geotheme is imposing us. I would like to remake the whole members page and setting too.
@delarnmini customizations for a premium theme is beyond the scope of the assistance we provide at BuddyPress forums. Contact theme developers for assistance or you could hire a developer to assist you at http://jobs.wordpress.net or at https://buddypress.org/support/forum/plugin-forums/bp-jobs-board/
In reply to: Yootheme and Buddypress 1.7@rotju best place to search or ask this is at theme dev’s forums. I recall someone mentioning that you need a plugin (don’t know if free or paid) to make Yoothemes compatible with BuddyPress. Don’t know if a yootheme plugin is still required at this time.
In reply to: Buddypress alignment and mismatch issues@compassseeker BuddyPress pages work automagically with nearly all WordPress themes. I hope you did not install and run the BP Template Pack plugin as it’s no longer needed in BP 1.7 above.
In reply to: Activity Wall bug BP 1.7.2 comments/repliestried with different themes in addition to disabling plugins
@kalanstar Just tested and I cannot replicate the bug. Do you have something in bp-custom.php file or in mu-plugins folder which you have not deactivated?
