In reply to: integrating BP
I am also not sure what you mean but change to Twenty Twelve theme.
I mean change to Twenty Twelve theme and deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress to check if issue is resolved in a default installation.
If issues are resolved with Twenty Twelve, then it’s not a BuddyPress issue but the Pagelines theme issue or the pagelines-buddypress issue compounded with the BP Template pack plugin (which is no longer used for WP theme compatibility since BP 1.7). In this case, please post at theme author’s forums for resolution.
In reply to: Can I use "buddypress" in my domain name?@coachxo as ubernaut noted above, you can use BuddyPress in subdomain http://buddypress.example.com or in subdirectory http://www.example.com/buddypress but not in domain root like mybuddypresssite.com
In reply to: [Resolved] Change header size and edit other filesMarking issue as resolved. The missing button was caused by plugin/s conflict per https://buddypress.org/support/topic/toggle-extended-profiles/
In reply to: [Resolved] Toggle extended profiles@discdemo So which plugin/s “took away” your Save button? Just in case someone posts the same issue in the forums 🙂
Marking this issue as resolved.In reply to: problem sidebars theme Nebraska@millo WP/BP versions? Is this new installation or did you upgrade? Did you previously install/activate the BP Template Pack plugin? Site URI
In reply to: Quadruple posting error@danalive is this a new installation or upgraded from previous BP version? Change to Twenty Twelve theme and check if issue is resolved.
In reply to: ie8 and ie9 big problemi dont can post here…
Do you mean you cannot post in yoo theme’s forums? They’re supposed to provide support for their premium themes and for BuddyPress http://www.yootheme.com/themes/documentation/customizing/integrate-buddypress though it looks like they haven’t updated the information. As mentioned above, BP doesn’t interfere with the layout of your site. We don’t have access to the premium theme. The best place to get assistance is in the theme’s forums.
In reply to: Big Upgrade (1.1.1 to 1.7.2)@mbagnall what page template are you using for the Blog page? Or are you using the default?
In reply to: [Resolved] Can't change register.php anymore@mstell4hotmailcom where are you hosted? Possible server cache issue? Have you cleared cache?
In reply to: New user notifications to admin@mcmook Just checked this and it’s working. Check for plugin conflicts. Deactivate plugins batch by batch to check.
When I requested membership, it asked me to add a comment, rather than just returning the button disabled with “request sent”. … I also tried bp-default but that made no difference either.
@becskr per link I posted above, that’s the default behavior when membership request is done at the group’s page. And commenting is optional. Could it be that you’re missing the “Send Request” button. Glad you found another solution but it could very well be a JS conflict with another plugin or script.
In reply to: Forums: Can't create topic error message@natesheridan if you still have this issue, please create a new topic with information about your installation – WP/BP versions, theme/plugins used, etc.
In reply to: [Resolved] Ajax?The activity streams for both users look fine. Marking this issue as resolved
In reply to: URL for Menu to Logged-in User's Profile Pagedo i have to look somewhere else for it
Yes you will have to and it depends on what theme you are using.
Try ‘above-header’. To confirm, open up your theme’s functions.php file and search for:
register_nav_menu and you’ll find an array of menus listed for your multiple custom menus. On the same row as or beside ‘Above Header’, find the key used to define that custom menu and replace ‘tertiary’ I posted in code above.@tduschei How to add sidebar to all BuddyPress pages in Twenty Eleven theme http://wp.me/p1I84P-60
In reply to: How to add sidebar widgets to my activity streams?@chase8705 What theme are you using? Is your default Page layout with sidebar or not?
BP generates content via your theme’s page.php file. So if your regular pages have widgets in sidebar, then those widgets and sidebar should show up in pages with BP components.
In reply to: Bug? BuddyPress shows wrong author's archiveswhen I activate the BuddyPress theme
Which BuddyPress theme are you referring to? Where is this number showing up?
In reply to: [Resolved] Chaning font colorMarking this as resolved, one way or the other 😉
In reply to: URL for Menu to Logged-in User's Profile Page// Filter wp_nav_menu() to add profile link in a specific custom menu e.g. tertiary function mme_nav_menu_profile_link($menu, $args) { if( is_user_logged_in() && $args->theme_location == 'tertiary' ){ $profilelink = '<li><a href="' . bp_loggedin_user_domain( '/' ) . '">' . __('My Profile', 'yourtheme') . '</a></li>'; $menu = $menu . $profilelink; } return $menu; } add_filter( 'wp_nav_menu_items', 'mme_nav_menu_profile_links', 10, 2 );Replace ‘tertiary’ with the key name of the menu you want to insert the profile link in.
In reply to: [Resolved] Can't change register.php anymoreregister.php and activate.php. The thing is that my recent changes don’t seem to stick.
– What kind of changes did you make? Styles or markups?
– Did you follow the directory structure of the parent BP Default theme in your child theme? i.e, activate.php and register.php should be in wp-content/themes/YOURCHILDTHEME/registration/In reply to: Buddypress Spam BOTS PLEASE HELP@wpbp 1. Disable registration in Settings > General.
2. Disable group creation in Settings > BuddyPress > Settings > Groups.
3. Disable album creation/uploading of images in the plugin’s settings or are you referring to native WP image galleries?
You can enable group creation and registration after you’ve done some general housekeeping and adding some spam/spammer prevention.
In reply to: [Resolved] Chaning font color@dowy Add the following to your theme’s stylesheet:
#buddypress table tr.alt td {
background: none transparent !important;
}#buddypress table tr td.label {
border-right: none !important;
}.label {
background-color: transparent !important;
}Did you make any changes in your template files? Something’s wrong with your theme. I see
wp_footer();near the bottom of the webpage. Open up your theme’s footer.php or the home page template and make sure that near the bottom of the file, instead ofwp_footer();, it should be<?php wp_footer(); ?>Correct the code first, then check registration again.
In reply to: Create page of groups loop@inetbizo you can post blocks of code in pastebin.com and post the generated URI here. You’re describing what looks to be this section of the Groups Directory page https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/1.7.2/bp-themes/bp-default/groups/groups-loop.php
In reply to: Invalid Activation Key@rjlucas have you tried basic troubleshooting like deactivating plugins batch by batch except BuddyPress to check which is interfering with the activation code?
