In reply to: create member page and for guest
@volvo_owmer something’s getting lost in translation. Not quite clear what you want. What has Cars got to do with the members exactly. Both links lead to non-WP/BP sites and have lots of elements within. Are you looking to hire a developer to create a custom theme and plugins for your site?
In reply to: Big Upgrade (1.1.1 to 1.7.2)After the upgrade to 1.7.2, it is broken. It gives me a “page not found” error. I have everything else about BuddyPress working.
@mbagnall since you did not mention having a multisite installation, I will assume that you created a static front page named “home” or whatever, created a new blank Page named “Blog” for your blog posts and went to Settings > Reading to designate the “home” page for you home page and “Blog” for your blog pages. That’s the scenario where I can see you have /blog/ in the url of your blog posts. Check your Settings > Reading to make sure that the pages selected in Static Front page and blog posts are still the same.
In reply to: [Resolved] Buddypress and BBPress, same avatar?@adamfratino Thank you for posting back about the cause of the bbPress avatar issue. Please post at plugin’s support forums about the bbPress avatars issue when BuddyPress and Social Login are activated. https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/oa-social-login
In reply to: 301 error on top of some pages@gmarco24 where did you add the redirect script, in htaccess file? or in header.php file?
In reply to: Still having problems with my sidebar. Please Help@chase8705 theme used? site url?
In reply to: Buddypress a bit plain looking@bedhead1971 Please clarify. The image you posted is that of sven with the BP Default theme while the issue is theme compat with Colorway theme. So let’s take it from the top.
I just upgraded to 1.7 and did the templates plugin disable and removal of the 6 files in theme.
So you followed instructions at https://codex.buddypress.org/bp-17-upgrading-template-packed-themes/ ? It should show a two column layout for BP pages as your theme’s page.php has sidebar in template.
This is my bp.php I created from the themes fullwidth template as it suggested.
First, you must name the file buddypress.php or community.php (not bp.php), remove ” Template Name: Fullwidth Template” and upload the buddypress.php file into wp-content/themes/colorway folder in server.
In reply to: emailIn reply to: ie8 and ie9 big problemBuddyPress does not block any styles hardcoded or enqueued by your theme. I don’t know why you cannot post in yootheme’s support forums for assistance if you’ve purchased your theme from them.
@unknownterritory20 you already have posted about the same issue at https://buddypress.org/support/topic/cant-edit-group-forum-topics/

In reply to: Can't edit group forum topics.In reply to: [Resolved] Buddypress and BBPress, same avatar?I’m looking to use the Buddypress avatars within the BBPress forums
BuddyPress avatars should show up in bbPress forums.
WP/BP versions? What theme are you using? What plugins are activated? Have you tried deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress and bbPress then changing to BP Default theme to check if issues are resolved?
In reply to: Theme Compatibility@rgbweb For BP 1.7+, you no longer need to install the BP Template Pack plugin to make your theme compatible with BuddyPress. BP will automagically render BP components through your theme’s page.php file. https://codex.buddypress.org/bp-17-upgrading-template-packed-themes/
In reply to: Display Profile GroupsDo you know how to rearrange the order of those groups?
@ebraxton30 near the bottom of the Extended Profile webpage I linked to above, I’ve listed ways to rearrange profile fields and profile field groups.
In reply to: Can't delete pluginsFrom the dashboard I can’t delete any plugins or themes … RSS Error: WP HTTP Error … I am unable to connect to download new plugins or themes from the dashboard …
@akukskuks BuddyPress activation does not cause those issues. Deactivate BuddyPress. Are the issues still there in your install? If so, you have get WP working without issues first before activating BP again.
How did you install WordPress, via webhost one-click WP install or manually? If you used webhost’s installation script, backup database to computer, then drop tables and start re-uploading WordPress manually via s/FTP. BP does not work well with one-click webhost scripts.
In reply to: Cropping Misaligned After Uploading Buddy Press 1.7@jeffp808 looks like conflict with jcrop. Change to Twenty Twelve theme and check if cropping is corrected. If not, deactivate other plugins batch by batch except BuddyPress to check which is interfering with cropping.
In reply to: Can't delete plugins@akukskuks Never seen it myself before. Are you on a multisite installation? Are you the super admin of that multisite installation or just the site admin of a subsite? Do you have any membership plugin which could have caused conflict? Did you create/delete another site/super admin account?
In reply to: integrating BP@theoptimystic great. good luck 🙂
In reply to: Installing Buddypressbut when I click in settings (account, profile or create group) gives error. The system returned with inexistent page
@tuliodc not quite clear. You mean you go to dashboard Settings > BuddyPress > Components/Pages/orSettings and when you click on some sections, you go to a 404 page?
I saw that buddypress should work with bbpress, is true?
My question is, what plugins I should install
I recommend that before you install other plugins, double-check that your BP install is in good working condition – e.g. registration ok, can create groups, can add friends, delete activity stream item, etc. If all OK, then read compatibility version, reviews and support forum topics of that plugin to check if plugin is supported and/or updated to latest BP/WP versions.
@tduschei you’re welcome. Marking this as resolved.
Added those php tags to that page.In reply to: problem sidebars theme NebraskaWhat BuddyPress version are you using?
Neither shows well the header of the page.
Just to be clear. What do you mean by “header” of the page? The area where the site name/logo shows up? First time I’ve heard that BP caused some issue with the header of the page. Screenshots or better yet, site URL with throw-away username/password.
The thumbnails are very large users in the forums and in the membership widget thumbnails are shown in column
Looks like the BuddyPress stylesheet is not being enqueued. Your theme should have
<?php wp_head(); ?>just before closing</head>in header.php file. Check if it does.In reply to: Automatic pages creation does not worki installed WordPress 3.5.1 with Buddypress plugin 1.6.5
@eraz0r Question is, why are you installing an old BP version when BP 1.7.2 is available for download?
The installation wizard seem to link the pages like this wordpress\activity
Is your WP/BP installed in subdirectory, i.e. example.com/wordpress/? Deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and Use the BP Default theme after you activate BP and go through the Installation Wizard (which has been removed/deprecated in BP 1.7 above)
In reply to: Mesocolumn – free theme for buddypress@rkcorp The theme looks great.
While awaiting theme review (up to 4 weeks), please make sure that your theme meets the WordPress Theme Review guidelines. Scanned source code at themes trac and there are issues which need to be be addressed. e.g. scripts and styles in <head> for one.
The following information should be of assistance in getting your theme to meet all the criteria:
* Theme Review – https://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_Review
* Theme Unit Checklist – https://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_Unit_Test
* Theme Development – https://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_Development
* Theme-Check Plugin – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/theme-check/
* Debogger Plugin – https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/debogger/After you’ve updated your theme to meet WP Theme Review guidelines, you’ll just need to upload a new version of the theme. You’ll still retain your place in the theme review queue.
In reply to: Notification on admin bar stays forever@prolet Cannot recreate the issue. Where are you hosted? Some servers have own caching system which can interfere with the notifications. Have you tried clearing cache on your end?
In reply to: Display Profile Groups@ebraxton30 Change to Twenty Twelve theme and deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress to test if your installation is working as expected -> https://codex.buddypress.org/user/before-installing/
Extended Profiles https://codex.buddypress.org/user/buddypress-components-and-features/extended-profiles/
Example of User Profile page which includes four profile field groups containing many profile fields each. http://testbp.org/members/mercime/profile/public/ Only the “General” profile group shows up during registration. Feel free to register at testbp.org, the official BuddyPress test site.

Have you done basic troubleshooting like deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress and changing to Twenty Twelve theme to see if issue is resolved?
