In reply to: Scheduled forum posting, freshness & date@tvanes no plugin that does what you need afaik. Best place to ask would be at the bbPress.org forums https://bbpress.org/forums/
@akgt have you done some basic troubleshooting like reverting to BP Default theme and/or deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress and bbPress?
In reply to: Layout broken in activity stream – how to fix?@jurajbenak I would check if theme is compatible with the WP/BP versions you’ve installed. But looks like the Activity Stream is “fixed” already.
In reply to: How to ensure my blog doesn't send my traffic away?how do I make it so that when they click the title to read more that they go to the blog on my site NOT the members site?
That’s the default behavior. You need to install a plugin to do what you posted. I used the WordPress MU Sitewide Tags Pages. Do read the Other Notes of the plugin. It’s not been updated for 3.5.1 but it’s still working in my installation. If you find issues with the plugin, do post at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wordpress-mu-sitewide-tags
@companyjuice @dasped just to note that most theme/plugin authors will most likely update their themes/plugins when the stable version of BP 1.7 rolls out. We’re still only in BP 1.7 beta 2
In reply to: Edit Profile Link Leads to Blank Page@garethmartin when you upgraded WordPress (from what version to latest?), did you upgrade BuddyPress as well? Did you check if your theme is compatible with WP/BP versions?
In reply to: Right column spacing@discdemo referring you to what I posted at https://buddypress.org/support/topic/basic-margin-and-sidebar-adjustment/ adjust width of sidebar to taste.
In reply to: Admin bar modification@panoravu check out the https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/mp6/ for upcoming WP 3.6 though š
In reply to: Show Member Profile in Dashboard@coopersita moving profiles to dashboard is harder than enabling your users to post in the front-end from their profile area via existing plugin š Check out http://buddydev.com/buddypress/introducing-buddyblog-allow-users-to-blog-from-their-buddypress-profile/ See comments area after post for attaching images to the post.
In reply to: Help Needed Please – Complete Newbie@awmeneca re attaching uploaded media to post, see code posted in comments at http://buddydev.com/buddypress/introducing-buddyblog-allow-users-to-blog-from-their-buddypress-profile/ or post there directly for more information/direction.
In reply to: New Private Community Plugin For BP@bphelp moved to Creating and Extending Forum per request
In reply to: BuddyPress Notification@webwarriorwng free BuddyPress Live Notification plugin http://buddydev.com/plugins/buddypress-live-notification/
In reply to: Rewrite Author Name with Custom FieldsIf you want to show all the posts by a given author/user, check out http://buddydev.com/plugins/buddyblog/
@dasped @dasped @companyjuice To avoid duplication of posts for themes which are already compatible with BuddyPress i.e, BuddyPress-ready themes, add the following line in your theme’s functions.php file
add_theme_support( ‘buddypress’ );
In reply to: Your preferred responsive template?@ljvd it will be announced at https://buddypress.org/blog/ which would show up in your wp-admin dashboard unless you’ve removed the feeds.
In reply to: Help Needed Please – Complete NewbieYou could go multisite (create a network), allowing users to create a blog and post in respective blogs. Or if you want to keep it a single WP installation, you could install http://buddydev.com/plugins/buddyblog/ and allow users to post from the front-end. Alternatively, you can just change roles of all members from suscriber (default role) to contributor (you get to choose what post gets published) or author (they can publish posts at will) all from the backend (wp-admin).
In reply to: BuddyPress Alignment with custom theme@bookee for the login form, just copy the code (lines 8 to 59) in sidebar.php from the BP Default theme to your theme’s sidebar.
As for BP login in the top menu of your theme, not quite sure what you mean by that. Custom menu? In appearance > menus, add a link http://yoursite.com/wp-login.php to the custom menu.
In reply to: Right column spacing@discdemo if I understand your question well, the width of the large image should be maximum of 184px space remaining in sidebar, better yet, make it 180px.
In reply to: Help Needed Please – Complete NewbieIām now making progress except for some reason the Register page is now taking me to the Home page by default.
@awmeneca that is default behavior when you visit the Register page while you’re still logged in š
@rizingsun the Member role is a BuddyPress role. BuddyPress must be network-activated as well.
In reply to: Right column spacingIām just wondering where to locate the setting then, in this default theme.
Not quite sure what you mean. But if you’re referring to something like a Theme Options page, there is none.
If you want to customize the BP Default theme to the max, you should create a child theme of the BP Default theme and upload the child theme in server wp-content/themes/YOURCHILDTHEMENAME/ so your revisions won’t be overwritten when BuddyPress is upgraded.
In reply to: [Resolved] CSS help for member directoryI haven’t tested the styles in the tutorial but it looks good to me at a glance. The ID’s and classes included in BP Legacy template files used in tutorial are just the same as that of the BP Default theme. I will assume that you copied over members-loop.php from bp-default/members/members-loop.php into your child theme folder /YOUTTCHILDTHEMENAME/members/members-loop.php in server and made the revisions to that file per tutorial like removing activity items etc. If so, can you post a screenshot of your issue/s?
In reply to: Right column spacing@discdemo please don’t bump if less than a day as we’re all volunteers here living in different time zones. That said, I’ve checked out the site and the sidebar width is 224px less 40px padding = 184px space for the image. The ad you have there is 203px wide, hence the image was cut off.
About the available themes: if you upgrade to BP 1.7 beta 1 download at https://buddypress.org/2013/02/buddypress-1-7-beta-1/ you can use any WordPress theme which does not override core templating system and you’re good to go. Caveat is that only a few BP plugins have been upgraded for BP 1.7 beta 1 compatibility.
@rizingsun Keymaster and Blocked are bbPress roles. So unless bbPress is network-activated in your installation or at least activated in the site which is missing those roles …
