any answer to my question?
I say it again: GREAT plugin – thanks alot!!!
A couple suggestions/questions:
1. Do I get it right: I can set the default in the backend, but eyery user (not the group admin) sets/changes the notification for themselves?
2. Forum-Notification: I don’t want forums activated on my site, but I cannot get it off (no CSS classes for display:none). It is also not dynamically I guess, for I disabled forums in the backend, but still shows forum-notifications… Any solution to this?
3. What exactly means “added something new to the group”? Is that comments? Is that another plugin like gallery, group-documents etc?
4. Member must be registered for option: When I type 0 in the field, that would mean no delay, right?
5. “You can also specify a minimum gap in time between updates regarding group wiki page edits.” This sentence does not make sense to all the users who haven’t wikis installed. It’s hardcoded. Any solution to get rid of it?
6. Last but not least: Is it translatable??? I really would love to do that for german (at least try it as my first
) – could you provide a POT-File?Thanks for all the work. This is REALLY IMPORTANT for us and well/simple made!

It is very understandable (even for me
). But the question: Do I have to do this? Or when do preoblems occur, if I don’t do this. I moved my testinstall to a subblog (subdirectories) and didn’t experience any problems? Would it mess up with a subdomain install?
Will it be an app or just a theme?

Cool, seems to work. Strangely I still cannot post a classified via frontend… hmmmm… tried it on two computers. When I check in the blog, it created some draft-posts… Any ideas?
A totally different question. I would like to try a localization in german
. Maybe just for me (pretty customized). BUT I never did this… How does my .mo file gets called in your plugin? Where do I have to put it? Thanks
You are fast – buit I think that some files are missing in the zip… no subfolders in it and now it shows no page at all

I tried it in my testinstall and the following experiences I made:
1. I couldn’t post a classified from the frontend – gave me a 400 error (could be, that it’s just me?!)
2. Posted from backend (created a post in the blog)
3. “All classifieds” in the directory says (0) – but there is one! All the other “tags” I created say (1) although I only posted it in one of them (“sachen”).
4. The advanced search doesn’t really work correctly: When I try to filter, it just ignores my setting.
5. When I click on a category-link underneath a classified – it jumps to the filtering, but shows nothing (although there for sure is one classified with that categorie
6. The design in the advanced search seems a little messed up in FIrefox 3.6 (the gray menu stops in the middle of the page)
7. The classified-activity doesn’t show up in the activity-stream. Not even, when I set the blog visible for everybody (also google)
8.The menu in the single-classified-view is underneath the text. Is that on purpose? The “Start” is empty… (should there be something)
So far my experienced “bugs” (if they are any…)
Further comments:
1. I like it very much!!!
2. Great idea with the ability to make tags dynamically showing up as tabs!
3. In my opinion it would be crucial that classified activity shows up in the activity-stream (in BP1.2 that is THE central point!)
4. The classifieds should have the possibility to react. I would recommend the same functions as any activity-item (comments, favorite) –>maybe that’s hard, because those are actually blogposts?
5. Pictures are very important (as mercime said). It is important to have the possibility to add pictures!
6. It should be translatable – but maybe that’s already in there, for your language is french

Andy, I really think it doesn’t work the way you mentioned. I visit the group, but nothing happens. I have to fetch the new information through pressing the update-buttons.
It would also be great, if the gruop would have to be visited to fetch the information.It would be great, if it just fetches the info from time to time (cron-job or something).

Andy, I think the problem is still the same as in the first version of the plugin. It doesn’t really fetch the new stuff. When I visit the backend, and push the update buttons (both twitter and external-blogs) then the stuff gets fetched (I just found out).
For the “old” version somebody recommended a solution to this (https://buddypress.org/forums/topic/external-group-blogs-plugin-update-bug)..) did you consider that?
It would be great, if those plugins would work correctly with the release of BP 1.2

Ps: Would it be possible, that the members can choose, if they want to notify the others (like it was/is in the old group-wire)? BUT- I will first test it
I know… Sorry to bother, but I still think, that the “forums” seem now like a stranger in the new very-exciting BP1.2 Stream-World…
That way I could get rid of the forums and manage everything through activity and threaded commenting… Maybe later there would come some kind of “categories” and “tags” for groups and activity-items… That would make a very cool forum…
But I get it – thanks for answering (or maybe one day there could be a plugin for this…?!)
I don’t get it – sorry… The content-filter, which filters the stream? What does that have to do with it?

I just found out, that it works ALMOST…
When I post an update with a youtube-shortcode it first shows just the shortcode. But when I refreash the whole page, it shows me the youtube-video-picture – although it’s only the link, not the player. I guess there is some conflict with bp1.2-stream?
Flash tells me “Please enable Javascript and Flash to view this Flash video.”
But it is already a little closer
Ps: I know there is the BP-LInks Plugin, which is really cool… But why having a seperate “thing”, when it could be “embedded” in the normal activity-stream?
Thanks – I didn’t know that. I updated to trunk now and it seems to work. I think there are some issues, still (at least in my install):
1. Twitter: The latest tweet showing is 4 days old… (many more tweets in the time between
2. Twitter & External-Group-Blog: In other languages – in my case german – the “Umlaute” like äöü are showing strange like ü (I guess this is an easy one
)3. External-Group-Blog: The latest rss-entry showing is about 3 days old – there were many others in between
4. The “view” of an item from those plugins does not show in the “normal” narrow-way, but is just in the group (but mybe that’s on purpose…)
A further suggestion:
Wouldn’t it be nice, when tweets with a @somebody wouldn’t be fetched/showed… It could be pretty confusing with ¨@somebodys from twitter and other ¨@username from buddypress…
But besides that: Thanks for the update. Great additions!!!
