In reply to: Buddypress Activity Link (time ago) Issue
@cartographer – Please create a new issue on our ticketing system:
https://trac.buddypress.org/newticketUse the same credentials you use here on bp.org.
Sounds like an encoding issue, but we’ll need to investigate.
Thanks!
In reply to: My customs styles stopped workThanks for the report everyone.
As an interim fix, try renaming your CSS to
'buddypress.min.css'for now. When we moved our CSS generation tools over to Grunt and to supportSCRIPT_DEBUG, this had the side-effect of needing to rename some files.Keep your eye on the ticket that henry.wright linked to though.
In reply to: [Resolved] Jquery bug in Buddypress 2.1?Thanks for the report everyone.
Can you test the fix located here?
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/attachment/ticket/5889/5889.01.patch@cwjordan – Thanks for the benchmarks. Are you using an object cache? If not, since you’re fetching profile data in a loop like this, I would temporarily disable object caching manually.
See:
http://kovshenin.com/2012/disable-object-cache-additioninvalidation-in-wordpress/Let me know if that helps.
In reply to: Adding video into activity without pluginAnd also WordPress uses a rich-text editor. BuddyPress does not for the activity post form.
In reply to: [Resolved] Buddypress activity always jumps to TOP@danbp – millir is probably using an older bp-default theme. Your code will work for everyone else 🙂
In reply to: [Resolved] bp_moderate capability?@ryanjhale – I’ve posted a fix here:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5869This probably won’t make v2.1 since we’re close to releasing this version. I’ve tentatively put the fix for v2.2.
Thanks for reporting!
In reply to: [Resolved] bp_moderate capability?@ryanjhale – Sounds like a bug.
Can you post a ticket on our ticketing system?
https://trac.buddypress.org/newticketUse the same login credentials as you do here.
Thanks!
In reply to: [Resolved] Buddypress activity always jumps to TOPYou’re using ob_start() and ob_end_clean() in the wrong manner.
You need to save the contents of the activity loop into a variable and then return the contents for the shortcode to work.
Something like:
ob_start(); // THE CODE YOU HAVE FOR THE ACTIVITY LOOP // this is the part you're missing $output = ob_get_contents(); ob_end_clean(); // this is the part you're missing return $output; In reply to: [Resolved] Buddypress activity always jumps to TOPYou need to wrap your activity loop code in an object buffer so your contents isn’t outputted at run-time.
Look up ob_start() and ob_end_clean() on php.net.
Here’s an example:
http://php.net/manual/en/function.ob-end-clean.php#103817@namrons – If you are using the older bp-default theme or a deriviative of the bp-default theme on your other sites, you’ll need to patch bp-default as well.
I’ve added the fix for the bp-default theme here:
https://github.com/buddypress/BP-Default/commit/4a06b494195c681252d27ded0c23ba8296322ec0It’s a plugin. I’m guessing by the source code it’s by a plugin called “Outwire”?
Try disabling that or any plugin that injects meta tags.
In reply to: New User – Invalid Key – The Solution@antimuffin (or anyone else) – Can you try the fix I posted here?
You shouldn’t be loading your field_xprofile_twitter() function on ‘bp_init’. Doing this creates your field on every page load.
Why don’t you just create your field once in the WP admin dashboard under “Users > Profile Fields”?
What BuddyPress plugins are both of you using?
In reply to: Activation not possibleBased on this thread, I’ve created a new ticket:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5831In reply to: Wp user blog meta didn’t get updatedHi Ajay,
I found your ticket on BP Trac just now and have posted a response:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/5787#comment:2Let’s continue discussion there.
Thanks!
In reply to: Wp user blog meta didn’t get updatedHi @ajay-aravind,
Can you give steps to duplicate?
In reply to: Unable to edit “Close Comments Days Old” settings@ebellempire – This was my fault.
Just fixed this up:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/changeset/8763Thanks for finding this bug!
In reply to: override function from my pluginIt’s not clear what you are trying to achieve.
Why would you want to override the group request validation function? What do you want to do?
In reply to: Unable to RegisterYour Jetpack Like plugin is interfering with the Signup button.
I would recommend that you either write some CSS if you want to continue using the Jetpack Like plugin or disable the plugin.
In reply to: Hidden group activityHidden group items are not shown in the “All Members” tab.
Click on the “My Groups” tab filter to view your group content, which includes hidden group items.
In reply to: Help troubleshooting group creation error at step 2Enable debugging:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Debugging_in_WordPressAnd see if any error messages are logged or outputted.
In reply to: bp core load template vs bp get template partI’m guessing you have an older plugin that you want to support with the newer theme compatibility standard.
Since you’re referencing
bp_core_load_template( 'activity/index' )in your example, I’m guessing you are trying to add theme compat for a new slug in the activity directory (eg. example.com/activity/new-slug/)? If so, you’ll want to copy the following code, rename the class and change a few things, so it is applicable to your plugin:
https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/2.0.1/bp-activity/bp-activity-screens.php#L301Then you would load up your new class with the
bp_core_load_template()call.if ( class_exists( 'BP_Theme_Compat' ) ) { new BP_Activity_WHATEVER_YOUR_CLASS_IS_CALLED_Theme_Compat; } bp_core_load_template( 'activity/index' );@dainismichel – Cool, glad to hear of your rejuvenated relationship with BuddyPress 🙂
