In reply to: Buddypress skeleton component
It should be okay. And just install it to find out for sure.
There is also this one that may be a little better re BP Theme Compat:
https://github.com/boonebgorges/buddypress-skeleton-component/tree/1.7The best way, for now, is to look thru the codebase for examples of how the BP_Component class is extended to create components.
In reply to: display groups members list (in all groups)As stated, the code is just an example of collecting the groups and group members.
You could put the code in a function and then call that function wherever you want.
For example, this could go in your theme > functions.php file :function diego_show_groups() { $args = array( 'show_hidden' => true, 'per_page' => -1 ); $groups = groups_get_groups( $args ); foreach ( $groups['groups'] as $group ) { $args = array( 'group_id' => $group->id, 'exclude_admins_mods' => false ); $members = groups_get_group_members( $args ); echo'<pre>'; var_dump( $members ); echo'</pre>'; // just for reference // do something with the member data } }Then in a template, you could put:
<?php diego_show_groups(); ?>Only you know exactly what you’re trying to do.
As I said: Where and when you place the data is up to you.In reply to: Coverage – Server error (5xx) Google search ConsoleI have not seen that before, but…
Those are not urls.
They are normal paths to files.Find out exactly what that error means.
Make sure the files are in that location on your server.
Make sure the files have the proper permissions. In reply to: Split screen forum plug-in?No. The closest thing I’ve seen are some of the question and answer plugins.
In reply to: Are there any limitations in users count? Please do not double post. Your thread has been deleted.
There can be a lot of factors that affect the use of resources.
Without taking a close look at the specifics of your install, it is nigh impossible to know what the issue is. And that level of support is well beyond the scope of these forums.
Given that you have 250k users, you should check to see when and how many are concurrent when you hit 100%.
And do the usual debugging – examine logs etc.
Most likely, you need to add resources to your server(s).In reply to: Split screen forum plug-in?BuddyPress is not a forum plugin.
BuddyPress uses bbPress for forums.
You may want to ask your question on the bbPress forums. If you mean the Private Message button at the top of a profile page, then place this code in bp-custom.php or in your theme > functions.php
function lindsay_profile_button() { ?> <div class="generic-button"><a href="https://google.com" >go to google</a></div> <?php } add_action( 'bp_member_header_actions', 'lindsay_profile_button', 25 );If ‘Private Messaging’ means something else, then you need to talk to the creators of that code because it does not come from BuddyPress.
In reply to: Customizing notificationsYou’re right, there is no flag etc.
But having a ‘prevent’ flag on the call would not work, because the actual fetch is performed in the same function that does the grouping.
Seeget_grouped_notifications_for_userinbp-notifications\classes\class-bp-notifications-notification.phpSo a flag that skips the
$group_sqlin that function would be useful. You can open an enhancement ticket here. Reference this thread. Even better if you can attach a patch.
On your profile, go to ‘Profile’.
You should see these tabs:- View
- Edit
- Change Profile Photo
- Change Cover Image
The avatar is on the Change Profile Photo screen.
If you don’t see it, to narrow things down, try momentarily changing to a WP theme like 2016.
Also try changing the Template Pack in BuddyPress > OptionsIn reply to: SSO with Buddy + WHMCafaik, there is no such sso api.
In reply to: Can’t add Admin to GroupThe latest update is 4.1.0.
Please update and see if that helps. In reply to: Adding a frame in user profile avatarsThat was an example. If you allow header images, look in
cover-image-header.php.
If you use the Nouveau template pack, then look inbp-templates\bp-nouveau\buddypress\members\single\, etc.In reply to: Adding a frame in user profile avatarsIn BP, for example, look at this
bp_displayed_user_avatar()in this file
buddypress\bp-templates\bp-legacy\buddypress\members\single\member-header.phpIn reply to: A Mess of IssuesThere have been recent reports on these forums of conflicts with Youzer.
The fix is in this latest update.
BuddyPress 4.1.0 is now available:In reply to: Member workout trackingYes, a custom component is the proper approach.
The best approach is to look at the BP codebase to see how components are created and implemented.
You will need good skills as a WP developer, at least.
This task is large and custom, therefore it is beyond the scope of these forums. You can use any theme with BuddyPress.
There are some themes that place an emphasis on BuddyPress, for example BuddyBoss.
You can choose one of two template packs in wp-admin > Settings > BuddyPress > Options > Template Pack.
And you can customize the BP templates – if you know how to write code.
More info here.In reply to: BuddyPress ErrorsPlease try my suggestion to deactivate
nextend-smart-slider3-pro.
Also please try deactivating this pluginMemberiumAutoJoin.
Do you have any other issues with Groups ?Did you try to narrow it down for yourself?
It’s doubtful that anyone here will be able to duplicate your error – and nobody else has made that report.
All we can do is make suggestions on how to gather clues about the real source of the problem.
Only then, maybe, can suggestions be made re a fix.In reply to: Rather call my forums groupsThat should be okay, but you’d have to try it to find out.
Changing labels is minor compared to changing slugs. In reply to: BuddyPress ErrorsIf you disable this plugin
nextend-smart-slider3-prodoes the error go away ?In reply to: Are there bbpress themes?I don’t think so, but you could also ask on the bbpress support forum.
In reply to: More than one xprofile custom tabYou’re referring to the About page on this site?
No, go to the websites or support sites for the plugins that you mentioned.
For example: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/bp-xprofile-custom-field-typesbtw – probably a good idea to update BuddyPress. V. 3.0 is old.
In reply to: More than one xprofile custom tabThere are a few ways to handle that situation, but it would require custom code specific to your installation. And that is beyond the scope of these forums.
Your best best is to contact the creators of those 2 profile plugins and ask how to handle your scenario. They are very skilled and will most likely at least have some suggestions.
In reply to: User page redirecting to homeBuddyPress does not require a user to be logged in order to view a profile.
You have some code on your site ( in a plugin, your theme or some custom code ), that is doing the redirect. You’ll need to find and remove or adjust that code.
