In reply to: Activity stream problem
Sounds like you are having javascript issues.
To determine if the issue is caused by your theme, try switching momentarily to a WP theme like 2016.
Also check your browser console for errors and your site’s error-log.In reply to: How to Barba.jsIt will not work with BuddyPress, afaik.
Can you get it to work on just a WordPress site?In reply to: Group description embeded in body failsSite is ‘under construction’ – cannot see pics.
In reply to: Remove Profile Tabs Dropdown MenuThe Media tab is always visible if you are logged out.
The change needs to be made in your theme.
You should ask the theme authors how to make that change for logged in users – especially since it is a premium theme.
Questions about premium theme are outside the scope of these forums. In reply to: Bug description groupsIt is a known bug. For now, here is the fix:
In reply to: Looking for the “Private message” text locationBP does not include this string: “There are no new messages.”
So it is coming from someplace else.BP does include this string: “Sorry, no messages were found.”
That is not default BP behaviour.
BP does not create a page called ‘My Account’.
It sounds like it is due to your theme or some other plugin.
To test, try deactivating other plugins and switching momentarily to a WP theme like 2016.In reply to: Concrete task badgesI am not aware of such a plugin.
You’ll probably need to adapt one of the available badge systems or write a custom one.In reply to: Fatal Error with BP Nouveau and Email Customizer>I do have Paidmembershippro installed along with some of their plugins, along with Updraft and Wordfence
If you deactivate them and use BP Nouveau, does the issue persist ?
In reply to: Fatal Error with BP Nouveau and Email CustomizerI cannot duplicate that error.
Sounds like a conflict with other code, or you found a bug.
So you have to narrow it down, debug.Do you have other plugins installed ?
Try deactivating them.Try switching momentarily switching to a WP theme like 2017.
Try removing any custom code.
Can you use the customizer without errors for general customization ?
In reply to: Group plansIt is possible, but you will need to hire a developer to write custom code to achieve #3.
afaik, #1 and #2 can be done with free or premium plugins. In reply to: Creating a profile field that only admin can editThere are a few ways…
For example, you could just use usermeta instead of xprofile to store the data.
And show the field in wp-admin > users > edit
Then you don’t have to juggle a hidden ( to non-admins ) xprofile field on the edit screen. There is no setting for that, afaik.
But there is code you can use – place the code in your theme/functions.php or in bp-custom.php

In reply to: Display Group Mod Member TypeYour code is incomplete and does not appear to be germane to displaying member types.
Perhaps you meant to post something else.Anyhow –
You can usegroups_get_group_mods( $group_id )to get an array re the mods that includes their IDs.Then use
bp_get_member_type( $user_id )to get the member type.In reply to: Display Field Group On New PageI might try to just query it totally independent of the plugin functions…
Always an option, but first look at the functions provided in the
buddypress\bp-xprofile\directory.
For example: http://hookr.io/functions/xprofile_get_field_data/In reply to: User profile page not showing@bonjarvis – thanks for the update. It is most often the case that the error is caused by code outside of BP – but determining the cause can be tricky. Momentarily deactivating plugins and/or switching themes is a solid first step.
If somebody thinks they have found an actual bug, they can create a ticket here
In reply to: BuddyPress template pack stylesafaik, there are no other template packs for BP, only complete themes.
In reply to: access message privateHave you tried: BP Messages Tool
You can also get it from the WP Repo: https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-messages-tool/
In reply to: User can block another userAre you aware of this premium plugin: BuddyBlock
In reply to: Hide a profile without photoThis should get you started:
https://buddypress.org/support/topic/show-only-members-with-avatars-on-member-loop/In reply to: Restrict Content Pro Multi site with BuddyPressI’m not familiar with RCP.
And multisite can get complicated.
But BuddyPress is free, so you can experiment.
You may want to network-activate BP, as opposed to installing it on both sites. In reply to: How to get username?>What would constitute a BP profile page?
Any page specific to a user, usually with an url like:
.../members/topher/some-tabIn reply to: How to get username?bp_displayed_user_username()only works on a BP profile page.Try:
echo bp_core_get_user_displayname( bp_loggedin_user_id() );or
echo bp_core_get_username( bp_loggedin_user_id() );In reply to: content not loading in custom Activity subnav itemIt’s not your BP overloads in the child theme.
Sorry I can’t give you a detailed explanation re why your subnav item still loads the listings.
Here’s an overly simplistic one…
Due to how BP handles activity ( ajax ), you’ll need to create your content ( and suppress the activity listings ) via custom code in the activity template that you’re already overloading. In reply to: BUG or ? Users accounts switch automaticallyWhat is the user role of ‘test’ ?
Administrators can see and edit globally.
Create a new user with the role = Subscriber.
Then Log in as that Subscriber and see what happens.
