In reply to: YouTube Videos will not embed
bp doesn’t allow you to embed YouTube by default.
However, if you are talking about blog side, then something must be happening, like plugin confliction, etc. on wpmu side.
In reply to: opensocialI just came across this container tool available on Java and PHP.
http://incubator.apache.org/shindig/
It looks like a sort of framework for implementing OpenSocial container to your application.
What do you think (as developers)? Do you think this is something that could be modified into a bp plugin?
In reply to: How to make “about me” kinda profile field?there’s minor function chage I figured. Use the following.
function my_no_links(){
remove_filter( 'bp_get_the_profile_field_value', 'xprofile_filter_link_profile_data', 2, 2 );
add_filter( 'bp_get_the_profile_field_value','my_no_links_filter', 2, 3 );
}
add_action('plugins_loaded', 'my_no_links');
In reply to: Mobile ThemeI think it’s easier to get started with skelton theme…
In reply to: External BlogsIf it’s not listed or announced on bpdev, then obviously not.
It’s not good only to depend on Nicola for various plugins, but I can’t code. If any php/wpmu/buddypress developers are reading this, please consider giving some hands.
In reply to: Avatar Won’t CropAs suggested in this topic, Jcrop is gonna be implemented to WordPress 2.8
Perhaps it’s a good chance to replace the cropping system with Jcrop in the future releases like 1.1?
In reply to: How to change email notificationsperhaps a feature enhancement ticket on wpmu trac?
In reply to: Remove avatars?how about commenting out the avatar functions from the theme file? You may also need to customize the “why not use gravatar…” blah blah message as well.
In reply to: How to change email notificationsgo to wpmu forum, there’s a thread about this.
(This is not buddypress question)
In reply to: Help using $bp->displayed_user->idIt’s supposed to return text field data from wp’s profile, but so far it only returns the user id. (even if I add echo before the function)
In reply to: Help using $bp->displayed_user->idThis is the code I’m trying to make it work…
<?php global $bp;echo $bp->displayed_user->id;
get_cimyFieldValue ($bp->displayed_user->id, 'CURRENT')
?>
It now returns the user ID properly, but it just shows the user ID and not returning the plugin function at all. wondering why the plugin code doesn’t show specific filed data based on the user id given…
In reply to: How to enable Edit profile and Change Avatar???from the admin… scroll down… it’s on the left bottom… look around carefully.
In reply to: Help using $bp->displayed_user->idthanks, but not sure how to write it properly… Should it be like this?
<?php<br />
global $bp;<br />
echo $bp->displayed_user->id;<br />
functionname ($bp->displayed_user->id, 'definition')<br />
?>In reply to: Editing Extended Profiles in Admin Panelor you (admin) could access the databse (I think).
In reply to: How to enable Edit profile and Change Avatar???bp-xprofile is the one. But I’ve never seen such a case that it doesn’t show up on the options page. Maybe you need to reinstall buddypress.
In reply to: Making profiles public?Since you are using the wpmu’s default profile system not the buddypress one, you need to disable extended profiles from buddypress component setup options.
I thought wordpress doesn’t allow spaces in user IDs…
Well, we can’t see your profile, but you can… at least you can use it.
In reply to: How to enable Edit profile and Change Avatar???You are missing component setup from the admin menu. You must enable xtended profiles.
In reply to: BP in Education…elgg was mainly designed for educational usages.

bp doesn’t offer file sharing, but does offer blog post updates… what exactly r u looking for?
In reply to: Alternatives to these WP pluginsTo track per blog, there’s google analytics plugin for that which works on wpmu.
Generally those tracking codes should be inserted in the footer, before </body> tag. So you’ll need to add that js code to footer.php of your themes in use.
In reply to: How to enable Edit profile and Change Avatar???What versions? Do you see the profile, or you don’t see any profile at all?
In reply to: bp-custom-php helpIt should be working. (place your bp-custom.php outside buddypress as it will be deleted when you upgrade buddypress next time by wordpress update system)
In reply to: How to change the position of Userbar and OptionbarYou can change it by editing css. For the menu, edit the header.php
use site-wide.css or custom.css they’re within the themes you’ve downloaded.
In reply to: Moving from XoopsDid you search releated topics on bbpress?
