In reply to: Parent/Child User relationship
Could you raise an issue on GitHub? We can discuss it there.
In reply to: Parent/Child User relationshipIn case you need it, I have an xProfile Username Profile Field plugin – https://github.com/Venutius/bp-xprofile-username-field
So what I can see in terms of differences between the groups page and the single group view is that the single group view gets rounded up. So if the groups page shows active 5 days 16 hurs ago, the single group header will show 6 days ago, which seems ok to me.
In reply to: Parent/Child User relationshipWell one option would be to set up a parental contact as mandatory profile fields, then run a reminder plugin that gets your scouts to enter those details before they can continue to the site. That’s the easy part.
what you would do would be to trigger a function on the
messages_message_before_saveaction, this would return to your function the message object of every message before it got saved and processed.You can get the recipients array from
$message_info->recipientsand the person sending the message isget_current_user_id();You’d want to check the role relationship and if it’s Scout – Scout Leader then you would look up the profile field data using the function
xprofile_get_field( $field_id, $user_id, true );In reply to: Parent/Child User relationshipSo you could put the parental contacts into profile fields and then run a filter on all outgoing email to check the role relationship and copy in the parental contact as appropriate?
One thing you could try though is to re-save your Permalink settings in Settings>>Permalinks, this often fixes page not found errors in WordPress
How many groups do you have? I’m not seeing anything odd about the Groups list last active dates at this end.
Which BP Theme are you using? BP Nouveau? ( Settings>>BuddyPress>>Options ).
In reply to: Parent/Child User relationshipI think at a basic level you need a plugin written. I think whilst the basic functionality could be quite simple this requirement is likely to expand into other areas. Whilst it could potentially affect a lot of people I think it’s too much of an edge case to be written into core.
Would the parents be site members?
Are you referring to your translation of the BuddyPress word ‘ago’ that is shown in the groups last update date? I can see it in line 387 of the pot file.
You need to refer these to the developers of those plugins
In reply to: Add featured members into listHi there,
What I was getting at earlier is that there’s a shortcode setting = view=”default” which should use the same css as the theme default, however I’ve just checked and in this context the only setting that seems to work is the default list view, so yes you are left having to undo the list css and turn it into a three column view.
I tried this which gave me a three column view, but not one that matched the one produced by nouveau:
.featured-members-list li { overflow: auto; list-style: none; float: left; width: 30%; margin: 0 20px 28px 0; border: 0; }Been looking in BuddyPress to see what CSS makes up the members list when it’s in three column mode but not found much so far.
With the BP Legacy theme the deault home page is that group activity page and members can post updates from there. With BP Nouveau this is also the default unless you configure it to have a home page. The default home page is blank and the idea is that you need to populate it with widgets or other means to add the content you want. What I usually do is add shortcodes that display the groups What’s New form ( for posting activity updates ) plus other shortcodes to display the activity updates and other group information. it’s why I created https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-group-home-widgets to allow group managers to create their own group homepage content.
In reply to: Add featured members into listNo I didn’t, according to bp featured members when it uses the default list setting it uses the same CSS as the members list, so that’s the css I suggested.
In reply to: how to combine activity tabs to oneHave you got error logging on? What errors are you seeing?
One thing I can see from a quick glance:
$metas = $wpdb->get_results ( "SELECT activity_id FROM {$wpdp->prefix}bp_activity_meta WHERE meta_key = $key AND meta_value = $industry" );In this case $industry must be a single value string, which I think is correct.
You should ask the plugin developer to fix it.
In reply to: Bypass Email RequirementYep tht function works for the main WordPress signup fields, not the extended profile fields. However, thinking about it what this would do would make all those fields options, so why don’t you make all the fiedls optional in your settings, then you would not get the error, obviously it means making fields you want filling out optional but the way Nouveau works there’s not really an alternative if you are going to hide them for some member types.
The alternative would be to create a multi-stage signup form where the first page takes in the basic signup information and member type then the second page displays the extended profile info specific to the member type.
BP Better Registration splits the form into sections, I wonder if that could be used to create such a signup form?
In reply to: Bypass Email RequirementNot sure if this will work but your syntax is clearly wrong, the correctway to write it would be:
add_action( 'bp_nouveau_get_signup_fields', 'venutius_remove_email_signup_field_required' ); function venutius_remove_email_signup_field_required( $fields ) { $custom_fields = array('field_2', 'field_15', 'field_4', 'field_6','field_13', 'field_7'); foreach ( $custom_fields as $field ) { $fields[$field]['required'] = false; } return $fields; }Sorry, this forum is for BuddyPress support, Youzer is premium only so if you want to use it you would need to pay.
See my response in https://buddypress.org/support/topic/bypass-email-requirement-2/ it includes a function to remove the required setting for profile fields in BP Nouveau, I think it will help.
In reply to: Create Payed AccesIt’s certainly possible to restrict access to the users profile, in your function you could use:
function bpex_template_redirect() { $authorised = //your function to check they'd paid if ( bp_is_user_profile() && get_current_user_id() !== bp_displayed_user_id() ) { if ( ! $authorised ) { // redirect away from profile page } } } add_action( 'template_redirect', 'bpex_template_redirect' );In reply to: Moderation of activitiesThere’s a few pro moderation plugins available, BuddyDev do one for example, you could look at these and see if they fit your needs.
In reply to: Can’t be able to postYou might have a conflict, try deactivating all other plugins apart from BuddyPress and switching to a default theme such as Twenty Seventeen then testing.
In reply to: Add featured members into listThe usual CSS to change the members-list is as follows:
#buddypress #members-list li { overflow: auto; list-style: none; float: left; width: 30%; margin: 0 20px 28px 0; border: 0; }This might work but it depends on which option you are using for the list.
Also, another option is to use BP Directory Views, this gives a better three column layout in that it avoids an uneven display of the three column view.
