In reply to: Themes in 1.3
If I’m correct, that theme is a child theme so it doesn’t necessarily need a index.php because it uses the index.php from the parent theme if the child theme doesnt have a index.php.
@ fritzthecat: The avenue theme is made by a buddypress user and not by the core developers. So if it doesn’t work, don’t blame buddypress.
In reply to: Buddypress version of wordpress ‘mystique’ theme?Ask the original creator if he wants to do it.
Personally I don’t see why this is better than all those other wordpress themes.
In reply to: Recent SiteWide Post shows entire post, ignoresYou could build an excerpt on your activity.
And I believe it ignores it, don’t think it filters for those tags.
In reply to: BPLANG and .MO in 1.1.3You can just use them, but if there are any changed lines or new ones, they won’t be translated and it’ll use the standard (english) line.
In reply to: Fatal error in header.phpAre you sure buddypress is activated as a plugin?
And are you using any plugins beside buddypress?
In reply to: tumblr.com based on WPMU ?I doubt it, but you could be able to make something like that with wpmu.
In reply to: My current wp theme getting to work with buddypressAwesome wp themes? Try googling.
Also, converting a normal wp theme to a bp theme isn’t that easy, it adds a few folders and a lot of extra template files. And yes, if you know how to make bp/wp themes, you can design above average and do some coding; you could make a site like tdi volkswagen.
Today Andy will release the newest buddypress parent theme, you might wanna check that out too.
If you don’t like it, change it.
In reply to: Group Wiki Plugin (not a release, but in progress)Glad to help out, been working with wp wiki plugin for a while now and I’m using it as a movie/series database which members can adjust. Working great.

I’m thinking that you can auto create a blog when a group is formed and automatically link that blog to the group. Then make that blog the wiki. If it works out easily than only thing left to do is change the wiki plugin to your own/clients preferences.
In reply to: Activation email missing dataA you redirecting to the buddypress pages? You shouldn’t use the standard wpmu register and activation. I remember Andy saying that he fixed this, but I guess it isn’t working like it should yet.
Try this.
In reply to: Group Wiki Plugin (not a release, but in progress)Updating my previous post, if anyone is curious, a wikimedia styled wordpress theme was just released. Combined with my earlier plugin, you could already make a wordpress wikimedia for a normal install.
You can download it here.
In reply to: 1and1 500 errorsAsk your host about these things, they’re more farmiliar with their own setup.
In reply to: Group Wiki Plugin (not a release, but in progress)Why not just use the already worked on wp wiki plugin which has the basics?
In reply to: Installing issueDid you by any chance copied/replaced this install from another place? If you did, maybe you haven’t updated your wp-config and some other files.
Only other option beside that I can think of is that your server/host doesnt support mod_rewrite..
Both unlikely since your admin area does work. Try disabling buddypress and see if your normal wpmu pages work..
In reply to: I Need Help With Groups and ForumsYou could make one group a standard group which everbody auto joins, but other than that the only option is a seperate bbpress install.
In reply to: how to set the member blog avatar?I think it’d be better if the image would be the users avatar.
If you really need a nice shop plugin, which is easy to use and don’t mind paying for it, go for the shopp wordpress plugin. Used it before and it works great. Heard they started supporting wpmu now as well.
In reply to: How to change built in BuddyPress verbiagehttp://www.poedit.net/download.php
Also for Mac.
In reply to: Please make installation easierSo either the settings of your VPS were totally nuts, or your tech support doesn’t know what it’s doing. I installed it in 2 minutes once (personal record).

Not sure how well it works with buddypress, but I suppose it shouldn’t make any difference. I’m planning on using that plugin myself as well.
In reply to: Make your own custom BuddyPress pageBump, does anyone know (earlier question)?
In reply to: New Groupblog PluginYou could use https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/front-end-editor/ for inline editing. Haven’t tried it myself, but it looks pretty good.
In reply to: iphone web appNever worked on something like a mobile app/site, but gonna deepen my knowledge of it. I might be able to help you with this in the future (if your planning on making this a plugin).

Anyway, looks cool. Cant really test since I don’t have an Iphone, but looks good either way.
Try re-logging with your FTP, not sure what FTP program you use, but mine (FileZilla) sometimes shows old files that I already removed with wordpress. Also check the chmod, not really sure if it can block you from removing files, but just to be sure, change it to 777.
