    Easily import all rich media (video, audio, pictures…) from other sites.Sidebar Widget displaying thumbnails of recent videos and video comments.

    Complete administrative capabilities. You decide who can add and edit each video.

    also, we still need more poeple interested in this project?

    So, i’ve said it to some people interested on irc. So, i can do this plug-in, but for doing it, i decide to attend next version of buddypress because in that, andy will put photo album feature, so doing a video feature, will be easier..

    I will update users about my and other plugin via this site http://buddypressdev.org/

    Kaltura to port over to BP : https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-video-pack/

    Would be a good answer to server loads because users can upload videos to 3rd party host and not yours that would save you server performance and storage issues!

    @ brianbrey, How do you know this?

    WE need to get WPMUdev.org to look into adapting it to BP. Because Kaltura media storage has increased to 10GB !

    Hi guys,

    currently we do not have the resources to create this integration in-house.

    I will however, fully support the developers that will take this initiative, providing help in code and guidance.

    The WordPress plugin we wrote (https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-video-pack/) is compatible with WPMU (you can place it in the plugins directory and activate), So I guess that for an experienced developer this should be an easy task.

    Zohar.

    @nicolagreco,

    Can you look into option :The most difficult way Only Profile: it’s not important having a blog or not, because the video will be published only on the profile

    https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-video-pack/

    There is a difference of developing time for each way..

    We would clip-in for your workmanship?

    What’s the max size can one upload in wordpress MU/BP for a blog because I get an error msg when uploading 50mb (size to big) ! maybe in future there’s going to be a bottleneck on video media uploads on servers?

    Anointed

    @anointed

    There really isn’t a maximum upload size as that is controlled within the servers php.ini file.

    Basically you just need to adjust the maximum upload size and execution time for uploads

    Good news on this big task, I’ve managed to get a developer to adapt it for buddypress.

    quote:”Good morning sir

    we have analysed your system and we wish to notify you that it will cost you 200usd to get the job done. if you are ok with that please get back to us so we ask questions to come up with the SRS document”

    Any questions lay them down now !

    Also, we need to know method of payment & license issues with the plugin. ie GPL &

    only persons whom chipped in can use it or what?

    gpo1

    @gpo1

    People whom are interested in this project.

    The cost is $200

    Therefore

    We need 10 persons min for $20 each or 20 persons for $10

    to start this.

    How are we collecting the money via paypal or what?

    enlightenmental1

    @enlightenmental1

    $200… that seems pretty cheap….. are you confident in their abilities? have you given them a list of features you want the gallery to have?

    if they\’re going to do it right, I\’ll match your $200.00 with $250.00-$500.00

    (\”right\” being the key word) so 750.00 total if it\’s done well

    prefect scenario:

    whatever they make is good enough that it gets integrated into BP by Andy

    Andy… what are your thoughts on this? I know this is coming in RC2, but what if we paid some people to take that task off your plate? what would be your pointers for the developers that will take this on?

    even more perfect scenario:

    gallery allows a video and images section, where videos and images can be uploaded or linked to/embedded… picture nextgen gallery for video… oh, and all of this is done from the profile/front end only…. no wp-admin/gallery etc……. no 3rd party servers…. all content is uploaded to the site server, etc

    im down…. what are your thoughts?

    gpo1

    @gpo1

    @Enlightenmental1

    The task is simply adapting https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-video-pack/

    front end on users profiles so that they can use it without going to the blog.

    Am not sure on the developers capable hands,but we can ask for a demo site b/4 pay!

    if you could do a better job at that price go for it and we shall pay?

    enlightenmental1

    @enlightenmental1

    i see i see….

    “The WordPress plugin we wrote (https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-video-pack/) is compatible with WPMU (you can place it in the plugins directory and activate), So I guess that for an experienced developer this should be an easy task.”

    this is correct…. not too difficult to move the interface to wherever…. as long as to include/loop the right core files…

    will this modified plugin actual integrate with BP? or just get moved to profile?

    by actually integrate, I mean for example:

    – pics can only be viewed if your their friend

    (just like you can only write to wire of friends)

    – tags, titles and descriptions of videos/pics are searchable from the /members page

    – gallery adds ability to “view random video” just like “view random member”

    etc

    if not, I fear this modified plugin will get replaced by whatever Andy and the Gurus come up with for RC2….

    depending on the outcome, I’ll cover at least half… maybe the full $200 since your dealing with them… but I’d need to see/test it first on my install

    any timeframe?

    @rdob

    I’ll chip in $20 (possibly more if needed). It’s a small price for such a powerful plugin. Just let me know when and where to send it.

    We also need to make sure it’s easy to update for compatibility with future versions of WPMU and BP.

    @Gpo1

    Thanks for the time you are putting into this.

    why don´t you all just partner with “Kaltura” ? This guy seems to be already experienced and it is for sure easier for him to convert this plugin to be useable with BP than developing this from scratch.

    I guess the guy from “Kaltura” has offered help in a previous post within this forum-topic….

    why don´t go the easy route ?
