if you have no particular reason, it would be better that you install wordpress at the site root (example.com/)
What php and mysql version are installed on your host ?
Check also phpinfo(); and look how much php_memory_limit is attributed to your siteIn reply to: BuddyPress group forum now shows up as bbPress forumyes, i checked it. But now you did the changes, we’re sure (for the moment) that the bug is elsewhere.
If you want answers from the dev i suggest you to open a ticket on the trac with as much details as possible and a link to this discussion, too.

you can login with same credentials as here.
In reply to: Adding custom profile fields to Member ProfileIs working on members list page but not on group members list page.
To get a profile field value on the group member page (BP 1.6.3 tested), use this:<code><?php echo xprofile_get_field_data( ‘the_field_name‘ , bp_get_group_member_id() ); ?></code>
Take care, the the_field_name is case sensitive.
In reply to: BuddyPress group forum now shows up as bbPress forumgroup-forums vs. site-forums: both are using “forums”
in the core, BP use the name “forums” for group forums and this is how BP manage his integrated forum part on bbpress 1.2 (from head)
in your bbpress 2.2.3 setting you use the default “forum” in base name. Change this and you will see that your forums will run correctly.
It’s a mistake to think that a simple “s” will make a difference…See here: https://mercime.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/bp16-swforums-03.jpg?w=700
You’re now on BP 1.6.3, not on 1.5… things are changing !Why do you want add a refesh button ?
In reply to: Buddypress admin page not foundThen I edited the Header.php file, added theses codes to the beginning and ending of the nav div area
If you can’t produce this code it’s difficult to know what kind of errors you made !
Also answer please to questions asked by @mercime….In reply to: How can I remove the […] from my activity pagesoops ! dots are stripped here….
in the brackets you should enter & hellip; (retrieve also the white space &! hellip) not dotsIn reply to: How can I remove the […] from my activity pageshi @fitnessblogger,
use this in wp-content/plugins/ bp-custom.php
(If you haven’t this file you have to create it first)Tested on 1.6.3
`function bpfr_excerpt($text) {
return trim($text,'[…]’);
}
add_filter(‘bp_activity_truncate_entry’, ‘bpfr_excerpt’, 3, 3 );`if you want to replace […] by ‘xxx’ you use this
`function bpfr_excerpt($text) {
return str_replace( ‘[…]’,’xxx’,$text );
}
add_filter(‘bp_activity_truncate_entry’, ‘bpfr_excerpt’, 3, 3 ); `Take care with copy/pasting from here. Quotes must be single quotes at least.
1.2.9 was december 2009
Perhaps this one could give you some inspiration.https://buddypress.org/support/topic/redirect-to-activity-after-login/
In reply to: Buddypress admin page not founddo you know google ? 😀
had the same trouble while testing. but it works. Perhaps try by removing -1 in the update value
and don’t forget to refresh the browser or close reopen it.
In reply to: BuddyPress group forum now shows up as bbPress forumi repeat: you have to change the bbpress forum base name.
read here, it’s better english as mine.
In reply to: Adding custom profile fields to Member Profiletried on /groups/single/members.php 1.6.3
none of the solutions are working !
In reply to: BuddyPress group forum now shows up as bbPress forumif you use 1.7 trunk you can proceed. If you’re on the stable release 1.6.3, you have to check the path of the group forum and the path of the SW forum.
Bp use by default “forums” for group forums and this slug has priority. This means it cannot be reused for another page, like bbPress plugin.
bbPress plugin comes by default with the same slug name (settings > forum > forum slug)
You simply have to change this to something other.
try this:
` $location = xprofile_get_field_data(“Location”,“$bp->loggedin_user->id);`In reply to: Should ALL BP plugins be network activated?Hi disapointed,
Recent plugins are all network activable.
First of all, plugins have nothing to do with buddypress, which is itself a plugin.
on a single WP install, you “activate” plugins.
on a network install, you “activate site wide”.
By default, WP is a single install. And “network” is a WP parameter. You can install buddypress on a single WP.Each plugin you install on the main blog is also installed to be used on the network blogs.
To give them these oportunity, you have to check the “plugins” checkbox on the network settings page
your_site/network/settings.php
If checked each blog admin can choose which plugin he want to use on his blog.Difference between a WP plugin and a BP plugin ?
Technically, none. They work and use exactly the same principle: html, php, header infos, hooks, actions and filters.But….
The header of a BP plugin contains a tag: buddypress
This is a crucial information for WP who knows then that the plugin should works only with BP installed.If this tag is missing, the plugin is intended to work with WP (and maybe in some case with BP)
Another difference exist in the action, hooks and filters names, even if this is purely coding stuff and depends on programming quality and knowledge.And that’s all !

About WP plugins

* probably outdated (2010) and not optimizes for BP 1.6.3In reply to: Re-order profile menu itemsfirst, you certainly need a child theme for your Frisco theme with all the modification you do, want to do.
Read the Codex how to accomplish this and also your theme doc.
It’s extremely important that you understand how your install and BP are working.
We all, and you the first, wasting time if all the help you receive is ending by “doesn’t work”.To add a sub-menu, you have to create a custom menu who goes to BP group page. After that you can create a new php page called join_group.php and add it into your child theme.
In this file you integrate all necessary html tags to reflect your theme, the php who belongs to BP groups and all the conditions to join any group you have and the join group button php code. Done. But be warned, this is a rough scenario, who need certainly to be adjusted a bit.
Now go back to your custom menu and add join_group.php file as sub-menu target.
That said, it’s not a good idea to do that. People mainly don’t like to search in dropdown menus for some simple action like joining a service.
Do it simple ! 😉
In reply to: [Resolved] Auto-generate password & name?There are some password generator plugins on the WP repo, but all are working on the admin side under add new user.
To generate names, still nothing so far. Would not be complicated to do for 100 user, but if you expect more, you have to reconsider the question.
Anyway, registering is a very sensible part from a security point of view.
Just my 2 cents.In reply to: Problem settingsDésactive tous tes plugins en les renommant via FTP, sauf BP, et vois si le problème persiste. Puis réactive-les jusqu’à isoler le coupable.
Deactive all your plugins by renaming them via FTP, except BP, and see if the problem persists. Then reactivate them 1 by 1 to isolate the culprit.Et merci de répondre aux questions posées par @mercime, c’est important.
For sure you can !
Copy /activity/index.php to your child theme and invert line 94 & 95Also add select=selected to the update option to get finally this:
<code>
<option value=”activity_update” select=”selected”><?php _e( ‘Updates’, ‘buddypress’ ); ?></option>
<option value=”-1″><?php _e( ‘Everything’, ‘buddypress’ ); ?></option></code>
Empty your browser history to view the change.And take care by copy/pasting from here. You probably have to rewrite the curly quotes into single quotes.
For those who want to add css to the [support] on group forums (not site wide forum), please read here and follow the changeset to get the solution. Can be used from BP 1.5.x
