In reply to: Guide on how to link to different user pages
1)
I think this is a great idea ! All the “Settings Stuff” should be in the User-Profile-section.
This would make a lot of sense !
2)
Also thinking about Jeffs “Privacy Settings”-plugin: this should also find its place within:
“MY / Profile / Privacy Settings”
In reply to: Search for nearby userssomebody is working on a plug-in like this, as per Andy´s information (see link below).

Not sure about who this “confidential” developer is
In reply to: Maximum pm’s with statusbar?schade, dass du meinen vorschlag nicht in dein TRAC-ticket mitaufgenommen hast….
nein, ich meine http://www.grono.net , aber diese wirst du sicher noch nicht kennen
In reply to: Maximum pm’s with statusbar?LOL…. I am not a programmer, but I would think it is not that difficult to program such a feature.
Absolutely agree with you.
I would go a bit further about this feature:
I would not want my users to save their mails as .csv-files (or whatever format) as the users anyway do not know how to do this….
In order to monetize on the website, I would rather give my users 100 free mails storage (or whatever MB-equivalent).
Having more than 100 mails (or whatever MB-amount), they would either have to pay a service-fee or delete their mails.
Well, somehow website-owners need to make a few bucks after all……
I do know a social-network in Europe with over a million users and that is how their business-model works……
Give users free stuff, but charge them when they are using services above a certain limit.
In reply to: Search bar can it search blog post ?good question !
How to search for content within “Blog” ?
I just created a TRAC-ticket for enhancement:
In reply to: NEW Avenue K9 BP 1.1 Theme ReleasedI do like your idea to number the comments like “Comment #1” and “Comment #2”, etc.
How can I achieve this ? Could you please help ?
Is there a plug-in to achieve this for ALL comments at my website ?
thanks a lot !
In reply to: Events missing icon / css?Hi Marius,
is there a DEMO-website for BP-Events available, so that we can test this and report bugs ?
Something like “testbpevents.org” ?
Thanks a lot !
In reply to: BuddyPress Privacy Component: An Updateit is actually the benfit to verify members at dating sites. People would like to get in touch with “real” people, not impersonators, fake people, etc.
In reply to: BuddyPress Privacy Component: An UpdateHi Jeff,
a great feature would be the following – not sure if you are willing to add this into the Privacy-Component as well, but would be an additional feature.
I would like for my users to have the ability to get them an “verified”-status.
Let´s say they will send to me a copy of their Passport (either by postal-mail or by e-mail) so that I can manually verify their identity.
The feature I am talking about would be just a simple click-button within Admin-interface to make a certain member to be “a verified member”. So when the user has been verified by the Admin, there will be a small image showing “Verified User”.
What do you think about this ?
great idea !
everybody know something about design and usability – collaboratively we will be more efficient and have a better output than everybody is cooking his own soup.
No need to bother Andy & Team with Theme-questions….. they should clearly focus on code-hacking
In reply to: Site-Design / improving Site-Logic by colors ?Thank you guys for all your valuable input !!!
The thin I am afraid of is the BuddyBar and the Dashboard. So I am not sure how to get rid of the Users-Dashboard, but still give them an easy way to post a “Simple” Blog.
I was thinking about using P2-theme for the Users own Blog, so that users can just make a Blog-Post without choosing their own theme and without all the Dashboard-options.
I do not want the users to go into the Dashboard at all, but still giving them the option of “having their OWN blog”.
Is there a way to do this ?
Thanks again !
Erich
In reply to: BuddyPress 1.1.1great, thanks a lot also to the patch-submitters from the Community !
Will there be an announcement about BP 1.1.1 at the Blog of this page ?
In reply to: BuddyPress Multilingualwow – cool stuff to see somebody working on Multi-Language-plugin….this is what I would definitely need for my website.
is there a chance to switch into another language on the fly ?
Lets say being at the english-members-page, then clicking on “german”, would forward to the german-members-page (I would not need this feature though).
Thanks a lot for working on this !
In reply to: Member Privacy – Limiting to ‘Buddies’ Only?Thank you Jeff !
In reply to: Social Activity: Interacting with commentsO.K. Tore, I will forgive you….. for writing my name wrong

BTW: this plugin has been written by user name: “P.S.”
In reply to: Member Privacy – Limiting to ‘Buddies’ Only?I am looking for the same set-up for my website.
Please let us know what needs to be done to achieve this.
Will Jeff´s “Privacy-Plugin” able to achieve these features ?
Thanks a lot !
Erich

In reply to: “Auto Group Join” plugin addedyour plug-in-website still says:
“What version of BuddyPress is needed?
This plugin was tested with version 1.0.3 of BuddyPress.”
In reply to: Private Groups and Forum“Private and hidden forum posts do not show up in the forums directory regardless of your logged in state. This will probably change in the future but there was not enough time for 1.1.”
why do you want to change this in the future ? I do not see a logic in making Private and Hidden Forum-posts showing-up in publicly visible “Forum Topic Directory”.
If it does, then “Private-Groups” are not private anymore……
In reply to: Group forum subscriptionprobably earlier if you provide your coding to Andy ?
In reply to: Group forum subscriptionis this feature going to be included into the Core-Code of BP 1.2
?
In reply to: Private Groups and Forumprobably I do not understand this discussion, but I would think that “private” and “hidden” Forum-topics shoud NOT show-up within the public “Forum Topic Directory” !
Please clarify.
