In reply to: Restrict Non-logged in user to post on group forums
Great stuff 🙂
In reply to: Restrict Non-logged in user to post on group forumsCustomisations are usually the problem. The only way of pinpointing the issue is trial-and-error. For example, remove all custom code you’ve added, then add in one item of functionality at a time, testing your website as you go along. You’ll then find the offending bit of code that has introduced the problem.
Hi @prabin04
I have done, but this topic is about importing tables using phpMyAdmin so let us keep the conversation here focused on that 🙂
In reply to: Restrict Non-logged in user to post on group forumsHi @prabin04
Do you get this problem with all plugins disabled and TwentyFifteen activated? I’m surprised you’re able to post on the group forum whilst not logged-in. That doesn’t sound right to me.
Hi @marvc
Whilst I can’t offer any help myself in this instance, the actual table you’re importing is irrelevant so both the WordPress and BuddyPress support forums might not be the best place to look to get help. Instead, perhaps try a phpMyAdmin or MySQL support forum. Hopefully they’ll be more help.
Hi @jaykdoe
You could try this:
function my_private_profiles() { // Bail if not a profile page. if ( ! bp_is_user_profile() ) return; // Allow admin users. if ( current_user_can( 'manage_options' ) ) return; // Allow the profile owner. if ( bp_loggedin_user_id() == bp_displayed_user_id() ) return; // If we get to here, redirect to homepage. bp_core_redirect( home_url() ); } add_action( 'init', 'my_private_profiles' );You can copy and paste it into your theme’s functions.php file. Please note I haven’t tested.
In reply to: Theme in Development: Preview & Feedback?Yep, new BP themes when released are very much welcome in my view (that goes for both free and premium)!
In reply to: Theme in Development: Preview & Feedback? Was sorta hoping to make some coin with this theme. wp.org wont do that for me.
Ah I see! Yeah, in that case you’ll need a different approach to advertising it.
In reply to: Theme in Development: Preview & Feedback? You’d just submit it as you would a normal WordPress theme, but specify that it provides support for BuddyPress. See some examples:
In reply to: Theme in Development: Preview & Feedback? To answer that question I think you’ve just got to put it out there. Making it available on the wp.org will attract far more attention than this forum topic 🙂
In reply to: Retrieve a variable from a GETHi @city4run
It might help if we see all of your code?
In reply to: [Resolved] bp_has_forum_topics() returns emptyThe error message is telling us that the undefined function
bp_has_forum_topics()is being used in your theme’s front-page.php on line 122. I suspect you don’t have forums activated?Hi @dave8528
That’s odd. Try disabling all plugins and using TwentyFifteen to see if them problem resolves.
In reply to: Button wrong alignmentHi @husk3r
You usually make customisations to your theme’s style via the functions.php file. Considering you’re using a premium theme, the author should provide support. Try writing to them asking how you can make your needed changes.
Hi @minglonaire
Features can be requested on Trac. Try searching existing tickets first to make sure the request isn’t already open.
In reply to: Custom Post activity_action output wonkyI did some digging and
bp_blogs_activity_new_post_actiondoes actually apply to blog posts so my apologies for leading you to believe it applies to activity posts. To answer your question about
component_id, the docs say:ID of the BuddyPress component to associate the activity item
This isn’t hugely helpful because it doesn’t tell us anything new. But the
component_idis just the internal identifier of the component. It gets set during the component creation process. Take the Friends component as an example, see here. And in the case of blogs, see here. Thebuddypress()->blogs->idwhat you see in your function is just a way of accessing that ID.In reply to: Custom Post activity_action output wonkyThanks for posting your code. I’m pretty sure the
bp_blogs_activity_new_post_actionhook fires when you create an activity post, not when you create a new WP “post”In reply to: Custom Post activity_action output wonkyHi @majecdad
Considering your
$activity_actionshould be “username created a new Post” but “username wrote a new item” is appearing, then your activity action is obviously being ignored. What’s your whole code?
In reply to: Comments notification doesn’t workHi @albydigei
This functionality is currently in development. See this ticket for progress:
In reply to: RSS-feed content via Profile field RSS-url?Hi @adjunkten
Do you know if Goodreads has an API? That would make option 2 easier for you if you decided to go down that route.
In reply to: Main title & subtitle changes.Thanks. That’s a lot clearer now
In reply to: Buddypress stop my siteHi @jookkoo
Interesting localhost works fine. This could be a file permissions issue but there isn’t much info to go on.
In reply to: Main title & subtitle changes.Hi @shauney3
I struggled to see much from the screenshot you shared via tinypic.com. I just see various pop-ups and adverts. It might be worth sharing images with a service such as imgur.com instead going forward.
In reply to: Login FailureHey @hmglv
Diagnosing that problem is going to be rather difficult on the little info we have to go on. My advice is to search the WordPress code base to see if anything shows up for the exact error string you’re seeing. Then try to trace back to see what may be causing the error.
In reply to: Urgent: Turning my site into https is not workingAlso, where exactly do you have this .htaccess file? In what directory?
