You do now.
Small spelling error, I assume – hotells.
I think it somewhat depends on the kind of network you have but I generally recommend against open registration for blogs and, instead, have people request a blog with you instead. Yeah, it’s a bit more work and yeah, it takes away some spontaneity – but the reality is you’ll have tenfold the amount of work with monitoring for SPAM blogs AND people that do the spur of the moment “let’s start a blog” thing are not your long term bloggers either. What’s the benefit of having 100 inactive blogs on your network? I’d rather have 5 that update daily with solid, quality content. As with many things in life, quality trumps quantity any day of the week.
So, it may sound a bit counter-intuitive but I’m all for slowing down to speed up with blogs/members that are worth your effort.
I think this is a good enhancement – a default group and a default friend. At the end of the day, you want new users to get engaged – this can help with that. Maybe you can open a ticket in trac and request the feature/enhancement?
I created a ticket for the duplicate post in widget issue – seems like it hadn’t been reported previously.
I’d just hate to be responsible for upgrading your install.
Hmmm..this is an amazing coincidence.
I’m hoping BP will be released with themes that do work in all major browsers.

I assume that means you create a empty page called members.
I have a text file in the root of my BP installation with the revision in it. When I upgrade, I changed the revision in the file. All I have to do is call the file in my browser and voila. I do the same with WPMU.
Cool. Thanks, Andy.
so *it* really didn’t – *you* did
Looks great, Nicola. This really fancies up the profile page. What is your expected release date?
Discussed many times on the forum. Simply do not install the blog module.
It did for me so give it a shot if you don’t mind taking a chance.
I avoided that by simply not installing the forum module.
Thanks, Trent.
Re. RSS – Group wires, group creations, friends notices. No forum, no blog posts.
I opened a trac ticket to make sure it doesn’t fall through the cracks.
While we’re at it, Burt – what would the code be if I wanted to print the name of the currently logged in user on screen?
There are days I realize how lucky I am to host with ASO – I simply send these guys a support request to enable wildcard DNS for WPMU and 5 minutes later I got things working.
Works like a champ. Thanks.
OK – on r840 – no change.
Couple of observations:
1. Feed can be added to Mac RSS client (netnewswire) without error but items do not load. Feed items do not show.
2. Feed can be displayed within Firefox (although items seem duplicated – http://img.skitch.com/20090113-8ki2p4w355n36ewgu21se4psrh.jpg)
3. Following 2. – when a feed is then added to a reader, it gives a “feed not found” error.
4. Feed does not validate because of a 404 error ( http://img.skitch.com/20090113-1dcuaxyqf4u5stbcexuqypmxk7.jpg )
Any ideas?
I’ll jump to r840 later tonight. Just to clarify – the main site feed (which I think looks at the blog) works. It’s /activity/feed that seems to be malfunctioning.
Will report back later after I upgrade.
Hmmm Burt – that generates http://domain.com/activity/my-friends – and obviously an error page.
Thanks Andy – I’ll update later this afternoon.
