In reply to: Can’t Do Anything With Pugin@ldesherl Sorry to learn that you’re having many issues with BuddyPress. Closing this topic and continuing discussion at https://buddypress.org/support/topic/could-not-save-basic-settings/
In reply to: Could not Save Basic Settings@ldesherl If you’re not seeing the button to save settings to associate Pages with BP components, then you might need to delete BuddyPress then re-install BuddyPress.
As for the content of the BuddyPress pages not showing up: I suspect it’s a plugin conflict, specifically with the Shareaholic share buttons and possibly the JetPack Like Button. Deactivate the Shareaholic first and check if the issue is resolved.
EDIT – Also, if you’ve been deleting and re-installing BuddyPress through wp-admin Plugins panel, try deleting then uploading the BuddyPress plugin folder via control panel or FTP.
In reply to: BuddyPress not Showing on My Menu@golf2bi I can see Members and Groups in your main menu. If you’re referring to BuddyPress links in Appearance > Menus, then click on the “Screen Options” tab at the upper right hand corner of that screen to show a panel. Check “BuddyPress” under the “Boxes” section.
@dopeboy What shanebp said. BuddyPress powers the 8.1 Million ++ user profiles at WordPress.org https://profiles.wordpress.org/dopeboy
In reply to: Profile Avatar cropping problem@nattlyharris Required JS enqueued by BP including jquery.Jcrop.min.js are missing from source code caused possibly by a plugin. I think one culprit is the bj-lazy-load plugin but to be sure, deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and check if you can crop the avatar. Then activate plugins one by one to see which is/are causing the issue.
Edit – took too long to answer. didn’t know henry already posted.
In reply to: Buddypress plugin does nothing…@drewmvshs Are you developing locally or on webhosting server?
@ldesherl Please be patient. We’re all volunteers living in different time zones.
In reply to: Could not Save Basic Settings@ldesherl I just see an error on your home page right now with the TGM plugin. Deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress. Change to a WP Default Twenty-* theme then activate BuddyPress.
P.S. For forums, install bbPress which works very well with BuddyPress
In reply to: Registration page@shweikiart WP/BP versions? Have you tried deactivating all other plugins except BuddyPress then change to the Twenty Fifteen theme?
In reply to: Save Button Not Showing?>> there is not Save Setting button to allow me to save the changes
@beginner3 You mentioned in your original post that you already “have tried to deactivate delete and reinstall plugin”, so at this point we need you to provide more information about your installation to help you troubleshoot https://buddypress.org/support/topic/when-asking-for-support-2/In reply to: Save Button Not Showing?I have published blank Register and Activate page on my site but I keep getting the error message?
@beginner3 If you have enabled registration again, then go wp-admin menu Settings > BuddyPress and click on the “Pages” tab, and in the Registration and Activate section, choose the blank pages you created and associate each with respective functions per
In reply to: Extended Profile tab still shows although unselectedBackend still shows this tab when a user is logged in.
@functionmunchkin Have you tried clearing cache? Cannot replicate that in my installs. WP/BP versions? Single WP or WP multisite?
In reply to: Assign Pages for new registration> I am not getting the option to create these new page
@alid88 Just go to Page > Add New, name the page e.g. Register or Join etc., then publish. Do the same for the Activate page.> when i click view it takes me to my home page.
That’s default behavior when you go to the Register page while you’re still logged in. Log out first. In reply to: Save Button Not Showing?> I meant how do I disable registration?
Go back to where you enabled it in Settings > General for single site or in Network Admin > Settings if you’re on multisite. In reply to: registeration page on multisite@keram- You need to enable registration in your Network Admin > Settings, creaate the pages, then associate those pages with BP https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/register-and-activation-pages/
In reply to: Save Button Not Showing?@beginner3 I’ve updated the screenshot in the link you posted. There’s only one “Save Settings” button on that page now. Sorry for your confusion.
>> keep getting the above error message
That happens when you enabled registration in your site but haven’t published blank Register or Activate pages in your site.In reply to: REGISTER PAGE, ACTIVATE PAGE, BOTH INVISIBLE>> The”membership” option in the image on the link you posted.
@functionmunchkin The option to “allow users to register” in Network Admin > Settings is the same as the one in a single WP site’s option in Settings > General in that link.>> Register goes the the login page and clocking the register link on there goes to page not found.
You mentioned that “I’ve setup the bp register and activate pg”
– did you set up BP network-wide or in one subsite? Reference: https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installation-in-wordpress-multisite/
– have you double-checked that you created the Register and Activate pages in the main site (if network-wide) or in the subsite, then associated the pages in Settings > BuddyPress > Pages? In reply to: Add profile fields groups to registration>> I know that Base group are shown in the Registration Form
@shmk thanks for confirming, just had to make sure you did. There’s a trac ticket which needs some more work done to get the feature you want at https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/6347In reply to: How To Setup Site Forums?@engine44 Have you read https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/ ? What shortcode did you use for your forums index page? Have you created an additional new Forum from wp-admin menu Forums > New Forums?
In reply to: Add profile fields groups to registration@shmk profile fields you add in the Base Field Group shows up in the Registration Form https://codex.buddypress.org/administrator-guide/extended-profiles/
In reply to: Extended Profile Repeat FieldsI remember someone reporting a similar issue last year or so. They used a theme which was not updated with the current BP version at that time. What have you done so far to troubleshoot the issue?
WP/BP versions? Theme used? If you change to the Twenty Fifteen theme, does the issue remain or is it resolved? Have you tried deactivating plugins except BP and use WP default theme to check if that resolves the issue? If that doesn’t solve it, do provide more information about your installation https://buddypress.org/support/topic/when-asking-for-support-2/
In reply to: REGISTER PAGE, ACTIVATE PAGE, BOTH INVISIBLE@functionmunchkin there is no shortcode for the registration form. Deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and change to the Twenty Fifteen/Fourteen theme to check if you have theme/plugin conflict. As to membership option, visitors who register and activate their account become regular members of the site, so it would be more helpful if you are more specific about what kind of option you are looking for.
In reply to: BuddyPress 2.4.0 – PietroCongratulations @imath 😀
In reply to: REGISTER PAGE, ACTIVATE PAGE, BOTH INVISIBLEThere is nothing on the page, where is the shortcode for the register page and activate page?
There is no shortcode. If you enabled registration after you set up BuddyPress, then follow instructions at https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/register-and-activation-pages/
After you do so, you’d need to log out first in order to “see” the Registration page.In reply to: Buddypress groups stylesDidn’t get notification for your mention, but thanks @danbp 🙂
