@binutz replace `<div class=”padder”>` with `<div class=”pad-registration”>` in your register.php

Then in your child theme’s stylesheet add:
`div.pad-registration { padding: 19px; }`

You made a backup of your DB before upgrading right?
Please upgrade to WP 3.5.1 and BuddyPress 1.6.5, clear cache, change to BP Default theme and check whether issue is corrected.

Is BuddyPress activated network-wide or is BP activated only in main site/subdirectory?

@splendidangst an alternative to complete theme change per profile, you might also consider allowing users to change their profile page background. Then go further and allow groups to change group’s background as well 🙂
