In reply to: [Resolved] Profile Links not Working
@drkknight32 check if the following is in wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php
`//Put profiles in the root — http://example.org/username/
define ( ‘BP_ENABLE_ROOT_PROFILES’, true );`@jonny_w no problem. For future reference-> https://codex.buddypress.org/bp-17-upgrading-template-packed-themes/
In reply to: Can you restore a deleted user?@ridecbrcom-1 first, back up your current database. Then read this https://codex.wordpress.org/Restoring_Your_Database_From_Backup -> Using phpMyAdmin
In reply to: Signatures on forum posts@palmdoc the signature plugin for bbPress should work for sitewide and group forums set up with bbPress plugin. I do not think that the signature plugin ever worked on the legacy Group forums in the first place. As for legacy group forums per se, following are your options: https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/using-bbpress-2-2-with-buddypress/
In reply to: buddypress on multiple blogsThere are two free plugins which can enable multiple BuddyPress networks. I would recommend that you wait until either has been upgraded for BP 1.7
– https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-multi-network/ – shared userbase across networks but don’t know if you can activate on per site basis
– http://buddydev.com/plugins/buddypress-multi-network/installation/ –
you can activate BP per subsite and userbase per site is not savedBest thing is to ask the respective plugin devs for more info.
Good luck
In reply to: How to remove tags from group forums?@dubbinz what’s your BP version? Are you using the internal bbPress BP forums for groups or the bbPress plugin’s group forums?
In reply to: buddypress+bbpress subforumand regarding Boone Gorges statment….?
@wilsoncortezribeiro Boone is a BP Lead Dev so of course he’s right 🙂 The link I gave above are the options you have for your existing BP’s internal bbPress Group Forums.
In reply to: getting wp-infinite scroll working with BPThanks @chouf1
@jrgiblette : @bphelp has posted a link to a plugin. Please create a new topic should you have any questions.

In reply to: buddypress+bbpress subforum@wilsoncortezribeiro I haven’t checked out the hack itself and I’m not going to 🙂

In reply to: Updating to 1.6.5 gives blank wp-admin@dukesw I’d revert to 1.2 database backup first.
– Deactivate BuddyPress and change to WP default theme.
– Upgrade to WP 3.2.1 and BP 1.5
– Upgrade to WP 3.4.2 and BP 1.6
– Upgrade to latest WP and BP versions
– Then if you’d like to try out Theme Compat, upgrade to BP 1.7 RC 1@lostone84 No right sidebar code posted as the request was for full width with the BP Template Pack.
If you’re on test site, you should already download BP 1.7 RC 1 -> https://buddypress.org/2013/03/buddypress-1-7-release-candidate-1/ which has theme compatibility with most WordPress themes without BP Template Pack.
In other words, if the code in your theme’s page.php is up to par with WP standards and correct coding practices, then you’re good to go. The only way to find out is to test the theme first. I would deactivate BP Template Pack and delete the 6 BP folders transferred to your theme’s folder in server if you already went through Appearance > BP Compatibility process.
Good luck, I hope BP 1.7 Theme Compat works out in your theme.
In reply to: How to add a rotation button for changing avatar@charlietech question is, why did the picture show up upside down? Where was the user uploading the avatar – laptop, tablet – and which browser was the user on then – IE, FF, Safari, Opera, Chrome?
In reply to: How to hide item list tab on site activity@charlietech it would be something like
`body.home div.item-list-tabs {
display: none;
}`In reply to: Post Update & add friends button disappearing@crewpass could be a theme issue. Please change to BP Default theme and check post update and add friends buttons.

In reply to: buddypress+bbpress subforum@wilsoncortezribeiro I don’t know what you expect from us when the Project Lead of both BuddyPress and bbPress already mentioned
Multiple forums per BuddyPress Group is started in bbPress, but likely won’t be finished for several months.
What moebis posted there was hacking bbPress core file which is not recommended at all. Of course that wouldn’t stop coders who know what they’re doing and would be able to create a fix when bbPress is upgraded. Still, it’s not kosher to hack core files at all.
In reply to: Deleting all previous install info@astromono
first step -> backup database and server files.
second step -> https://codex.buddypress.org/user/buddypress-site-administration/deleting-buddypress/In reply to: Group Forum RightsIs it possible to assign Groups to Forums?
@clendanielc You only need one WP/BP installation. It’s more of allowing Groups to create Group Forums https://codex.buddypress.org/user/setting-up-a-new-installation/installing-group-and-sitewide-forums/ Forum visibility will be based on your Group’s Privacy Settings
In reply to: Spam user accounts@pealo86 check this out as well https://buddypress.org/support/topic/seeking-testers-for-spam-destroyer/
@gcarlos8377 Before installing BuddyPress, I suggest creating the network first. Then before activating BuddyPress, decide where you want BuddyPress “installed”. If in main site, no problem as it is the default location. If in subsite (whether MS subdomain or subdirectory), then you have to add the following line to your wp-config.php before activating BP:
define ( ‘BP_ROOT_BLOG’, 3 );
change 3 to ID of subsite https://codex.buddypress.org/user/install-buddypress-on-a-secondary-blog/
In reply to: Redirecting home page to profile@jddeisel You mean you’re using BP 1.7 beta 1 or RC 1, right? I suggest following up at plugin dev’s site re when plugin will be updated … probably when BP 1.7 stable version rolls out. http://buddydev.com/buddypress/bp-redirect-to-profile-plugin-redirect-users-to-their-profile-on-login-on-buddypress-sites/
In reply to: Time When User was Active@binutz re time active -> use UTC +/- in Settings rather than city name and change to BP Default theme. Are you using a cache plugin by any chance? If so, which one?
re members count -> What do you mean that it’s wrong? Is this an installation which had registered members prior to installing BuddyPress? Then members have to log in at least once to be “counted”
re users’ avatars missing -> You mean the only the mystery man is showing up or that even the mystery man is not showing up? Are you developing locally or online? Change to BP Default theme, are the avatars showing up?
re email activation issue -> Are you sure that your installation is sending those activation emails in the first place? Or, have your users checked in their email spam folders? Where are you hosted?
In reply to: BuddyCamp Miami, 2013Ssshh. Don’t be scared 🙂
In reply to: Hiding / Removing sidebar from registartion page@binutz sure, modifications should be done in child theme. And yes, you can just delete get_sidebar from the register.php file. No problem.
