In reply to: Help setting up BuddyPress on WordPress site
Do you recommend I create text/content and install a form plug-in for my ‘register’ page associated with the BPress first before working on adding Member Profile Fields?
@dleit please do not install any form plugin for your “Register” page. Leave it blank as BuddyPress will dynamically add the necessary forms. What you need to do is set up the profile fields. Remember that whatever field you add in the first group of the profile field will appear on the right side of the Reigstration form.
It just doesn’t seem like it will solve the “user registration is currently not allowed” issue.
After you add the member profile fields/group(s) you want for your community, I suggest going to the admin menu Settings > General and Allow Registrations. BP Codex is your friend https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/register-and-activation-pages/

@gnasralla WP/BP versions?
Multisite User Management Plugin
Is the issue happening for the users you added through this plugin? How about for those which registered the regular route or you (admin)?
I opened a new browser window and I pasted that link and I changed http:// to https:// and it worked fine!
Could be that you have not properly configured your http-server software. I would suggest you contact support of your hosting provider to help as they would know what’s required for your plan/package much better than we at the support forums would.

In reply to: new BuddyPress plugin: BP Local Avatars@shanebp Wow nice! Thank you 🙂
In reply to: Help setting up BuddyPress on WordPress siteI created a page for each component in this plug-in and I don’t know what to do next.
@dleit It depends. You could start adding Member Profile Fields and/or Create Groups and/or install Group and/or Sitewide Forums if you need forums.
btw, spammers have been removed 🙂
In reply to: [Resolved] Who's Online Widget Avatar AlignmentHi @alice-kaye. The avatars should be side to side by default. Site URL? What theme are you using?
@friendlyfire Thank you for posting back with the resolution to the issue with the Networks+ plugin. Two thumbs up as usual to Ron Rennick 🙂
Marking this topic as resolved.

What you can do to troubleshoot is deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and change theme to e.g. the Twenty Fourteen theme. Clear cache and check if issue is resolved.

Is BuddyPress still be developed?
Yes it is. You can suscribe to latest dev updates at https://bpdevel.wordpress.com/ where I’ve just posted the contributors’ priorities for BP 2.3.0. If you have time, please feel free to participate in our 2015 BuddyPress Survey at https://buddypress.org/2015/02/2015-buddypress-survey/
In reply to: Registration page is empty@emineminero You have two registration pages
Your link above: http://www.comunidadcrm.com/register/
And the url I found: http://www.comunidadcrm.com/registro/What was the title of the Page you set to Registration in Settings > BuddyPress > Pages? Is it still associated with Registration? Also, please do not add any content (leave page blank) to the Page you set as Registration page in Settings > BuddyPress > Pages.
In reply to: how to create menu to display on home page@numumar in wp-admin Appearance > Menus, click on the “Screen Options” tab located under the admin toolbar. A panel will drop down. Check “BuddyPress” in the Show on Screen section.
In reply to: The theme to buddypress@numumar Sorry, something may be getting lost in translation. Could you please clarify what you mean?
In reply to: Registration is not working@tendersqatar Enfold is a premium WordPress theme which we have no access to so it would purely be guesswork to assess what’s going on in your installation.
Please change to the Twenty Thirteen or Twenty Fourteen theme and check if registration is working in your local installation. If you encounter the same issue using those themes, could you give a step by step instruction on what you did and where in the registration process the error occurred.
In reply to: Theme & Plugin Issuesfor some reason my nav bar (which has dropdowns to sub-pages of the site) doesn’t work properly
@themusicbusinessnetwork For this issue, please contact the theme developer as we have no access to the premium theme.
… where I can’t set up user registration properly. I have the fields setup but something with the pages that I direct them to don’t work
Could you please clarify what you mean by “pages that I direct them to”? Are you referring to template redirect after submitting registration form or something else?
I also am having issues updating the Theme. WordPress is giving me an error message saying the data is already there and it can’t install.
As mentioned above, we have no access to the premium theme. But to help you find the possible causes, change to Twenty Thirteen or Twenty Fourteen theme, are the issues resolved or still there? That way, you could provide the theme author more information about the issue. Recommend that you share what shows up in error logs.
In reply to: Profile TextHi @stefanievalentic, I don’t see white text in http://nerc.napoleonnewsllc.com/members/alexguthrie/profile/ and could you point to the table you’re referring to? You can change any text color in the theme’s stylesheet or a child theme.
Btw, know that your theme is still using jquery 1.7.2 while latest WP/BP enqueue jQuery v1.11.1, so there could be some conflicts along the way. Please update your theme or ask the theme author to update jquery version.

@ishvara No problem. Closing this topic as discussion should be continued at plugin dev’s support forums.

In reply to: Can't put widgets on Buddypress pages?@rapforthemoment thank you for clarifying the issue. I’ve just tested on a clean WP/BP installation and widgets I’ve added are showing up in the sidebar of all BuddyPress pages. What kind of widgets are you adding? Single WP or WP multisite? What theme are you using? Is this localhost or in production site?
In reply to: Can't put widgets on Buddypress pages?@rapforthemoment You can’t put a widget on a page whether it’s BuddyPress or a regular WordPress page. You can only place a widget in a widget area.
