In reply to: Default Groups on signup
Thanks – if yould I would
In reply to: Browser Title with custom Member-ThemeThanks, Lance
but it didn’t solve my problem. I did like you said. But still there is only my site name in my case: young-people.ch
in the default theme it shows per example a member-profile like Michael >Profile >Public
What do I miss in my custom theme?
In reply to: Default Groups on signupCool thing – thanks DJPaul!
Question: Is it possible to add a new User to specific groups based on a profile-field they choose (say a dropdown)?
A friend of mine, a programmer, is trying exactly that: Admin gets in the email the infos from the profile. That would be great. BUT if someone has already done this – please share your solution with us!
In reply to: Group/Personal Avatar issuesIt’s crazy – I tried to figure that out for hours… no it works. It wasn’t a plugin, but a js-conflict from the theme. Strange is only, that it once worked, and then not anymore.
For me the issue is solved…

Thanks
In reply to: Group/Personal Avatar issuesHere the (maybe) error in apache log:
[Mon Mar 23 20:43:41 2009] [error] [client 92.105.164.140] ALERT-SIMULATION – configured GET variable name length limit exceeded – dropped variable ‘iterator_bindcontext_:_Prototype_K;____var_result;____this_eachfunction_value,_index_value_’ (attacker ‘92.105.164.140’, file ‘/services/webs/berra.graphic-studio.ch/htdocs/index.php’), referer: http://berra.graphic-studio.ch/members/miguael/profile/change-avatar
In reply to: Group/Personal Avatar issuesAny more updates on this. It is strange – I have the same issue, but only on one install (two other tesinstalls work just fine, same server, same setup). The permissions seem to be more than right (777). I had a conflict from a plugin with js, but I deinstalled. Still not working.
I updated to the latest trunk r1248
Could it be that something of that plugin is still “left”, although I deinstalled it…
I saw a ticket which seems related to this – could that be it? Any solution yet? (there it is mentioned that it seems, that there is no loading of js at all… why?)
I am desperate! Please help you GURUS

Avatars are just a very important thing and i am planning to go live soon…
THANKS, Michael
In reply to: new buddypress site looks greatI just say: WOW! Really nice! I am almost depressed that our site doesn’t look as great as this after all that work… (I thought ours is much nicer than the default buddypress-theme, but this one is another league!).
PS: As far as I got, there are some nice little changes (without plugins I guess) like friends & groups small and clean on the left, etc etc). Cool stuff. Please share, how it’s done
Thanks Nicola – but I can’t write that function…
That is my dilemma… Anybody wanting to do this?
In reply to: “Report This” feature@enlightenmental1: The premium plugin, as far as I tested it reports only content from blogposts (not even comments…).
I like this idea very much…
I had the same question two months ago with an answer – sadly I didn’t quite get it. Maybe you do, and can explain it to me…

See this thread: https://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=731
Thanks, Michael
In reply to: “Report This” featureVery good idea!!!
In reply to: BP-FBConnect PluginI tried to install it on my server but I couldn’t even activate the plugin – fatal error. I am using trunk 1179. With a german internalization.
Any ideas?
In reply to: BP-FBConnect PluginIt’s a totally great start – Andy, you are still THE GURU

But for me, what hempsworth is stating is even more important then the login possibility. If some Gurus could take Andys work further, it would be GREAT. FOr me it would be perfect, if people could connect afterwards their account with facebook, and the admin could choose, if he want’s to connect with a facebook-login or afterwards (after greating a normal BP-User).
For my project I don’t want people greating accounts without the required fields. But I nedd a great facebook-connection!
Just some thoughts… sadly I am not able to code it…
In reply to: BP Content Tags Project – Call For IdeasI LOVE IT (and I love you therefore
!!!
In reply to: RC-1 – admin-bar-menu acting weird?Yep – super! Works – I hope this will be adapted in the release…
In reply to: BP Content Tags Project – Call For IdeasHi burtadsit, I read it all (exclamationmark
) English is not my “tongue”, but I hope I got the main idea. It sounds AWESOME!!!Just to check, if I got that right: (I think I would need exactly something like that, because I am running a community for young-leaders who can submit and search for relevant resources in youth-work. )
With that project I have tagged almost everything on my whole mu-site. Posts (sure…), but also bp-events, forum-stuff, wire-stuff, groups, etc…
I can collect those tags for groups etc, but also show them in a kind of sitewide (forum, buddypress,”normal”wpmu) tagcloud? THAT WOULD BE GREAT!!! So everybody finds exactly what they are searching for… (better than eny search engine…).
Right? (if not, that would be a suggestion for a feature or something

Thanks for your work!
Michael
I am using this plugin for that case – i think it’s great
:In reply to: Avatar Cropping not working?I have such a bug, too. But only on one of my two installs…
In reply to: Users Personalised Welcome Screen, widgets etcWith al little hack – somewhere discussed here in the forum – you can get friends-activity to the homepage.
http://berra.graphic-studio.ch is our testsite and a small thing we did: if you are logged out, you’ll get the welcome and login screen. When you are logged in (you don’t see this) your friends activity appear.
If there would be more possible it would be surely great!

Greez, Michael
In reply to: Blogs-Widget Bug?!I found maybe a shared thing: Could it be that those wrong permalinks are because those posts were submitted using TDOMini-Forms-Plugin and others using WP-O-Matic. It seems, that only those are wrong… Could that be?
Thanks, Michael
In reply to: Blogs-Widget Bug?!I am sorry, please delete two of the posts… (a litte forum bug here from time to time…)
In reply to: Theme and plugin requestsAMEN to everything mentioned above (by the way: cool, that you guys are picking it up, james)
One thing that comes to my mind:
The “Upgrades”-Plugin you already have would be nice to be extended… So that people in BP can get extra stuff with the credits. For my purpose it would be great if member could buy credits but also earn them with their activities for the greater good (or something
). The credits “interface” would also be accessible from frontend in BP (because alot of BP-Hosts will try to keep members without blogs from the backend). Ps: When do you think will the first releases come, James?
In reply to: Facebook connect@hempsworth: YEP – would be GREAT (and for me very important, too). The features you mentioned are exactly what I would need!!!
In reply to: Blogs-Widget Bug?!Thanks for looking into it burtadsit,
sorry, the blogentries change… but right now those are wrong:
-test-Link mit preview (goes to http://berra.graphic-studio.ch/betablog/2009/02/17/download-tracking-ressourcen/ but should go to http://berra.graphic-studio.ch/ressourcen/test-link-mit-preview/ )
-Bibel (goes to http://berra.graphic-studio.ch/information/2009/02/14/sitewide-agenda-test/ but should go to http://berra.graphic-studio.ch/lifestyle/bibel/ )
Thanks for looking again into it…
Michael
