So activity stream works more like Facebook wall. I think this should be the defacto way BP works. Have a site-wide stream but then have a profile wall.
anyhoo need to override the profile stream. I can get the site-wide stream to bend to my will but having trouble getting profile stream to only show users, friends and groups they belong to.
In reply to: Editing ‘Base’ Profile GroupIn the WP admin under BuddyPress in the left side bar you can create more than one profile edit screen. Click profile field set up. Then you can create things for users to fill out on their profile. The default screen is called base but you can change that name.

I would love to use REST and make it native, then I could use the hardware – image uploads – contact lists etc. I messed with this plugin a bit https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/json-api. BuddyPress json post / get would be killer.

It might have got included in the custom theme. Usually this has username and password in those spots. Also if someone on a computer saves that to the browser you have to delete cookies and settings to remove it. How to depends on the browser.
What sharer are you using? This is not a BP issue. Facebook sharer is funky sometimes.

Trust everyone in this site wants privacy controls but constant nagging will not make it happen faster. Try some of the links above. Paul said he was booked for a month at least and would consider helping get something started. In the mean time I’m going to try and get a couple developers involved so the task is easier.
My suggestion is to start coding and then sharing what you got. If people do one section of the plugin it will get done.

So in the activity loop.php it will call one function but in the function it will go through and filter content depending on the URL or what ever else the function states. That’s great for covering everything. Think of it like the WP the_content.

You can create your own activity loops and call them where ever you want. Maybe you only want to show activity updates that have comments. Create your own loop to just show that.

It’s better for BP to have many functions you can pick from and change it up. Also, why is everyone so fixated on Facebook. I’d prefer something new and I guarantee your site visitors will to otherwise what’s the point just create a facbook fanpage.
