No, I use both on my sites without any conflicts.

The Issue does not exist anymore. If I am evocative right it was a plugin conflict. But cannot say which conflict it was anymore?

    Me too 🙂

    Hi,
What are your needs? Have you ever tested with WP Rocket?

    Hi @shanebp,

where does your plugin have an effect on? Tested with two users with different timezones but each message shows me the same clock time.

Is it still compatible with BP v2.5.2?

    Hi @shanebp,

where do I have to post the snippet? Within the bp-timezones.php? If yes which line?

    Thank you for advice.

    Best regards,
    Thorsten

It’s definitly the nickname field who is responsable for the issue. If a user changed the nickname from ‘Peter’ to ‘Peter (123)’ and saved his profile the bug will come up. If you changed again, everything works fine for composing messages.

    Hi @danbp,

now I found the issue and I find it verytricky, see screenshot http://www.screencast.com/t/wch3gyYV

I tested on my other site where users often use brackets in ‘Last Name’ field. Sometimes they change the ‘Last Name’ field because they change their degree to the fictive name. Because they do not have access to the backend, it happens that the ‘Display name publicity as’ field keeps the information of the ‘Nickname’ field.

This situation is responsable for the bug. As I deleted the brackets and last changed the ‘Display name publicity as’ field too, message composing worked like a charme.

It would be great if you could reproduce the issue I described.

    Best Regards,
    Thorsten

    Hi@danbp,

The effect only exists if I am logged in as an admin or with admin role. With a normal user everything works fine.

    Can you check this please?

I switched the WP languages from German to English and back, same issue.

    Thank you,
    Thorsten

    Tested above with SendGrid tracking!

    Hi @abuyaman

I found a HTML solution that works now with WP/BP.

    1. Use WP Better Emails
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-better-emails/

    2. Use SAR Friendly SMTP
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/sar-friendly-smtp/

And if you don’t have a SMTP service, use SendGrid.com

Tested and it works for like a charme.

    Hi guys,

I found out that mandrillapp.com works as SMTP service with BuddyPress because of replacing all line feeds ("\n") by <br/> in the message body. The issue there is that mandrillapp.com will become an AddOn of MailChimp with day of 27th April this year.

For this reason I searched for another SMTP service and tried SendGrid. Both SMTP services can use individual HTML templates, not from BuddyPress but you can style it within your account there. For now SendGrid cannot replace the line feeds as mandrillapp.com does but I contacted the support team of SendGrid and they will work on a solution for it. Hope to get the solution soon.

    Best,
    Thorsten

    Hi,

read this @shanebp but how to customize in appearance area the Email header if I want to use a logo instead of the site name?

    Hi @henrywright,

thank you for your answer. Please take a look to the screenvideo I made for you https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B04CBuSaY-1iVFNHbUlmN2FRcHM/view

As you can see, a user tries to compose a private message and enter the first letter of a friend. The name appears and the user clicks on it. You will see a space between the name and the profile symbole. The message cannot be sent.

After this, the user visits the profile of the person he wants to send a private message and clicks on private message. Now the name appears right without any space between name and profile symbole and the message can be sent successfully.

Do you understand the issue better now?

I used the theme Twenty Fourteen for testing. And unfortunately the built-in Emails in BP v2.5.1 doesn’t work for me, but can’t say why. Before I updated to BP v2.5.x everything worked like a charme and updated because of the new features inBP v2.5.x

No I did not the process you mentioned above because with BP 1.6.5 everything works fine, see http://www.socialmedialernen.com (same theme). I tested the new BP with http://www.weltverlag.net

But I’ll check this – thank you for the hint 🙂

You are right but the author is not available for six months so I must find another way. Do you now which page is responsible in the standard BuddyPress theme? Is it easy to copy the responsible section of the plugin into the section of the Huddle theme?

I appreciate any support that help 🙂
