    Quick way to check would try the most recent member-themes version and see if it works to compare against the problem you are having with your custom theme.

    It might be due to the language pack that you have for bbPress itself. Maybe do a check over at https://bbpress.org/forums/ to see if you can find something out for the Thai language for bbPress as buddypress and WPMU won’t affect if bbPress (forum backend) has the language pack or not.

    In fact, it would be nice to “widgetize” profile pages so you can move things around like facebook anyway. I created a ticket:

    The order of what is displayed is done through the following if I am not missing something.

    /buddypress-theme/member-themes/buddypress-member/profile/index.php

    Just move the following”

    <?php if ( function_exists('bp_wire_get_post_list') ) : ?>
    <?php bp_wire_get_post_list( bp_current_user_id(), bp_word_or_name( __( "My Wire", 'buddypress' ), __( "%s's Wire", 'buddypress' ), true, false ), bp_word_or_name( __( "No one has posted to your wire yet.", 'buddypress' ), __( "No one has posted to %s's wire yet.", 'buddypress' ), true, false), bp_profile_wire_can_post() ) ?>
    <?php endif; ?>

    Put it closer to the top, maybe under:

    <?php else : ?>
    <?php bp_core_get_wp_profile() ?>
    <?php endif; ?>

    I know people that have buddypress running on almost every host. It might be easier to come up with a list that is doesn’t work ;) All kidding aside, I have seen buddypress working fine on Media Temple, Futurehosting.com, Slicehost, any dedicated server, all VPS servers, etc.

    @jfcarter Andy has told you that you need to provide the error that you are getting. Check your apache error logs and tell us what the error you have. It could be many different things and is not a widespread issue, so we need to know the error. You haven’t had a satisfactory response yet because you haven’t given any information to provide such a response.

    Yeah, that is what I mean. If adding things like “embed” or “object” code scares you to death, you can always include something like Anarchy Media Player where you can include the javascript in the buddypress theme header and then it will parse the page for the plugin quickcode and display the media that way. That is a way some are already doing it with things like bbPress where the media plugin doesn’t exist yet.

    Andy put a filter on the tags used in wire. It allows common HTML now, but with a plugin can also be used to change the allowed tags to anything you want. I am going to do this on an extremely private install, but thinking about Anarchy as well. Just haven’t had time.

    I think that is why albums (photo) will be in the core and all video solutions will be plugins from others and not part of the core at this point. Now that wire has filters for content, you can allow tags to put in any video you want that way now.

    Never, that is why I was asking exactly if that is the same error since there is another thread on this:

    Replace the files and maybe hit the main blog dashboard as the “site-admin” to be sure ;)

    You are not running any other plugins that subscribe to the signup process do you? This is still the error you are getting?

    Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/exbriefc/public_html/wp-content/mu-plugins/bp-xprofile/bp-xprofile-signup.php on line 104

    Buddypress? It will be out before you know it, but even grabbing the latest ZIP out of trac.buddypress.org/browser/trunk/ at the bottom of the screen will work as well.

    This forum, the BP trac, WPMU and bbPress forums are having “caching” issues it seems as things are slow to show up at times when people post. Strange…I reported it the powers that be…

    In terms of answering, your answer was more detail anyways! :)

    Just the member pages, groups, etc should get the buddypress theme. The actual blogs themselves will use whatever the “default” theme is setup for the WPMU installation that you have put buddypress on.

    I would go with WPMU 2.7 and buddypress beta 2 (which should be out really soon). If buddypress beta 2 isn’t released, I would come back and ask which version is the most stable out of trunk for your release. WPMU 2.7 is “so much different” than 2.6.5, so it would be nice to get users on it right out of the box instead of changing right away. There are loads of improvements since BP beta 1, but you have to get a development snapshot that works :)

    Long story short, I doubt beta 2 of buddypress will be that long since the tickets are dwindling down….

    WPMU 2.7 was released about 4 hours ago. The latest beta release of buddypress does work on WPMU 2.7, but there are loads of changes since then. The second beta should be making it out here pretty soon, or you can head to https://trac.mu.wordpress.org/browser/trunk and grab the latest development version by getting the zip at the bottom of that page.

    In reply to: privacy issues

    @trent

    I am sure dsader can fix it without much effort. I opted generally to go with the plugin I have referenced before called “Members Only” on my smallest install which is just for family. Reason I went with this plugin over dsaders was both the RSS feeds as well as the ability to have the blogs you want still being “public” in their settings, but still members only.

    What that means is the main WPMU blog can be private and only accessible to logged in members. If blog 1 is public, it shows in the main sitewide feeds. If blog 2 is private to members only, I can still set it as “public access” in the privacy options, but the “members only” plugin will not allow viewing without logging in, but the blog posts will still show in the main WPMU blog widgets.

    Not the best solution for larger sites, but I am assuming that when Andy has a chance to implement the privacy options into buddypress, this will be a moot issue at some point.

    Just some additional thoughts.

    I can’t see why not in the future. Once things are more stable, I am sure that someone will try (if not Andy) to port this, but that won’t be for awhile.

    I don’t believe there is a setting option in the admin for this. It is only designated in that function right now.

    @MartinNr5 you need to start a new thread for this as not to hijack the thread. There are quite a few topics in this forum on adding them. Any WPMU plugin that does it will do.

    I was referring to the current development version at:

    https://trac.buddypress.org/browser/trunk *Zip at bottom*

    I would make a backup of everything before trying it as the standard disclosure! There are loads running that version now (included me) and it is working fine.

    If you look at your member page as well, the letters and placement of things on the page are not the same as the default theme, so I would start comparing the CSS of your theme versus that of the original. That is all I can recommend.

    When you say latest BP, do you mean trac version? I am aware of anyone else that is getting that error on the signup process is the only reason I ask.

    The links on your site to register are not the newest update though. What version of BP are you using? There have been “loads” of changes in the past month or so….

    Not a widget as you are using your own theme. You might just be missing the CSS that would be required to make it look nice in your theme :) The fun of running a custom theme I guess :)
