In reply to: Lost Buddypress Menu Item
I found your register page – http://uk-mgc.com/index.php/register/
But clicking the register link looks for a location of http://uk-mgc.com/register/
Starting to look like a permalink issue
In reply to: Lost Buddypress Menu ItemTry deactivating BP, then the page should show up in Appearance>>Menus>>Pages then you should be able to add it to the menu and then you can reactivate BP.
Maybe that will work?
Also, have you tried looking for it in the Customizer menu view? Sometimes I have seen pages there that don’t show up in Appearance>>Menus
In reply to: Registration problemsTaking a look at it you do not have a register page by the looks on things, are you sure you have created a register page and associated that to the BuddyPress Register component?
In reply to: Registration problemsPS, considering you have very little content on the page it takes far too long to load, or at least it did for me.
In reply to: Registration problemsHave you logged out in order to try to register?
Did you set up the registration page as a menu item? If so what happens when you are logged out and try to access it?
I’m setting up a website for people looking to set up BuddyPress social networks, you might want to take a look. It includes a guide to setting up and using BuddyPress for the first time:
In reply to: User Profiles RedirectingI have a test site running these versions and I can confirm that clicking on the member profile takes you to the members profile. So I’d suggest that either there is a plugin conflict or so other mod you have made to BP is causing this issue.
In reply to: Hiding register linkSet it as a private network?
In reply to: Cannot edit member profiles as adminOne thing I’d check is the permissions set up for that role to see if they have the edit_users permission.
In reply to: Hiding register linkI think you are looking for BP Registration options – that provides you with new member moderation.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-registration-options/If you are new to BuddyPress I’m developing a site aimed at helping people get the most out of BuddyPress http://buddyuser.com
In reply to: Register button nearly unreadableIt looks like a theme issue to me
In reply to: Getting latest replyYou would be better off asking this on the bbPress support forum
It’s best to get them to fix it to be honest, after all it will affect anyone trying to use it with BP
This has got to be plugin conflict or theme related issue since avatar and cover image uploads work when BuddyPress is running standalone. I’d try deactivating all other plugins and if that does not work then switching to the 2016 theme to check
In reply to: Error After Disabling Email NotificationsHow about something like this?
In reply to: default page for logged in usersYou could try something like this, only it’s not been updated in a while, not tried it myself https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-login-redirect/
In reply to: Emailing all usersYou have two options that I’m aware of – http://buddyuser.com/plugin-review-mass-messaging-in-buddypress and http://buddyuser.com/plugin-review-mass-messaging-for-buddypress-by-alkaweb
In reply to: Forum ExcerptThink you need to ask this on the bbPress forum
In reply to: searchable directory and forumIt could be, difficult to answer since you have not given a great deal of detail on what features you want. You can create multiple extra profile fields which are searchable, you can use a plugin like BP Profile Search to enable all sections of the profile to be searchable, and of course BP supports public and private forums.
In reply to: Activation Email – Not ReceivedI think one of your plugins must be stopping the activation emails from going out. I’d deactivate them until the one that is blocking them is found.
In reply to: Show activity stream only when user is logged inOne of the features of WPFront User Role Editor is that it allows you to set whether menu items are visible to logged in users or not.
In reply to: New registered BuddyPress users cannot loginSeems to work fine on my test system, might be a conflict with another plugin?
In reply to: Image gallery/feed on users profile page.In MediaPress there is a BuddyPress Setting which allows for media uploads to be entered into the activity stream.
In reply to: Updating to 2.7.1 breaks front-endYes this has been identified, a fix is going to be released today, in the meantime you will need to downgrade to 2.7. To do this you will need to download 2.7 from the “Developers” section of https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress/developers/, Delete BuddyPress 2.7.1 and then upload 2.7
In reply to: Image gallery/feed on users profile page. That would be a question for your gallery creator, I know some gallery creators have added a profle page widget that displays the users featured images – MediaPress for example.
It will display in your personal activity feed for you the user, but if you log in as a different user that content will not be displayed
