In reply to: Extending BuddyPress with HTML5
No, this hasn’t been tried yet, because there is no need and it’s still in it’s baby shoes.
Limitations would be no cross-browser support.
No oppurtunities, unless offcourse IE suddenly desides to fully support HTML5.
HTML5 is made to make markup more easy and more readable, therefore your actually use tags that fits it’s content. For example <header> for the header.
In reply to: New BuddyPress 1.2 default themeHaven’t seen the damge on IE6 yet, but I’ll look into it when I have some time.
Btw, for IE6 users you could also use google chrome frame.
In reply to: FancyboxYeah, but that’s not gonna work with buddypress. You need to specify that your calling a javascript function. Buddypress just sees those things as links. I doubt this is gonna work with buddypress at all if you call to the functions like that. I’m amazed it worked with wordpress.
Edit: You added the earlier code to the text? Your supposed to put it in your header either in a external javascript file or just between script tags.
In reply to: FancyboxTry this, and put rel=”fancybox” on your links. I doubt the script is ever gonna work like that with buddypress.
$('a[rel*=fancybox]').fancybox();In reply to: Can’t delete forum topicsHmm, your the third one on the forum having trouble with this.
We might get some clarification if you answer these questions.
In reply to: Blog description from a specific blog@ Brajesh: You could make it even smaller.

echo get_blog_option(7,"blogdescription");Didn’t know it was possible like that, definately easier than my method.
In reply to: compose message, send to usernameWhy would you want to send something to a total stranger? If you want to send more then one message it usually means their someone you know and you can make them a friend.
If you would autoload the whole database, it would be a bigger server load anyway, so just loading friends takes less resources.
Not sure why that error shows up though, perhaps you made a typo in the name?
In reply to: Blog description from a specific blogIn reply to: New Default Theme Is Available@ roydeanjr: No, there’s no specific documentation about that yet. If you want to make a theme, make sure you know some theme building from the standard wordpress and check the buddypress theme/core files for the buddypress functions/template tags.
In reply to: Only one password field?Hack the core and remove the field + check. Doubt that they put any hooks in place for this.
In reply to: New Default Theme Is AvailableThanks Andy, got it up and running on my local server.
Ran into something though, the random member page gives me the following error.
Fatal error: Call to undefined method BP_Core_User::get_random_users() in E:\wamp\www\wpmu\wp-content\plugins\buddypress\bp-core.php on line 929See it running on http://80.56.54.214/wpmu/.
In reply to: Buddypress version of wordpress ‘mystique’ theme?@ Andrea: As you can see people want the normal wp themes to be converted to bp themes, so it’s only good that your fulfilling their needs. Besides, we need more bp themes.
In reply to: Buddypress themes, what first?I’ll start working on these when the new theme is released, which is soon. The first one I’m doing will be YouGo, Talkmore is gonna take a lot longer so that one will be released later.
Glad to see so people are interested in my themes.

ps. The buddypress parent revamp is dicontinued since Andy already made a big upgrade on the parent theme.
In reply to: New BuddyPress 1.2 default theme@ D Cartwright: What if you crash the trac before Andy can release the theme? lol
Good to know that people are finally starting to make quality themes.

Some things that I noticed.
– See this. Make the backgrounds transparent.
– Define a width for your input, my inputs always become bigger and stick out their container. Probably got something to do with Win7.
– Blog pages still have a meta box.
– Login link in the navigation doesn’t do anything.
Haven’t found anything other than that.
In reply to: wp-signup.php and login issuesHere’s a fix for redirecting your users from the old wpmu signup/activation to the new buddypress signup/acitvation page.
In reply to: Merging old .po with new .pot/.po? (BP LANG)Load the po file and update it with the pot file, then fill in the new gaps and save your file somewhere else.
In reply to: Follow a BlogNo, nothing like this has been made yet.
In reply to: New BuddyPress 1.2 default theme@ Andrea: If a newer and better version of a theme which you will base your work off is coming out soon, wouldn’t you rather wait than making the theme right away?
Seeing what has changed from the old buddypress parent theme and the new one, you might as well call it a redo.
In reply to: wp-signup.php and login issuesIf you have buddypress activated, you should use the “/register” page of buddypress.
In reply to: Buddypress version of wordpress ‘mystique’ theme?Guess the topic starter is in luck.
@ nexia: Haha, agreed. I make my themes myself so never have the urge too use other peoples work.
In reply to: New BuddyPress 1.2 default themeThen I’ll have to delay my themes till january as well, I’m not going to build my themes so that I’ll have to redo them when the new theme is out.
In reply to: Ustteki arac cubugunu her menuye nasil uygularim? You should use the buddypress “/register” page rather than the wpmu “/wp-signup.php”.
So this page.
In reply to: New BuddyPress 1.2 default themeSecond the post of D Cartwright, I’ve been refreshing the trac every few hours to check if the theme is in there yet. Can’t wait to get crackin’ with it.
Bpdev (nicola) is a bit behind with development, as far as I know. But he’s been active again lately so it might work again with the buddypress 1.2 release.
I’m planning on getting this to work with my bbpress forum and inline blog editor. Don’t really need to load that huge wysiwyg editor from wordpress admin.
