In reply to: BP Translate
Interesting, might be fun too use for when my site gets a good reception in my own country.
Thanks JJJ.
In reply to: what about bp-plugins?You can hide the plugins panel in the administration area from your users and you can use plugincommander to choose which plugins should be activated for users and which shouldnt be.
Personally I don’t see why you would make a plugin folder for a plugin. If every plugin started doing that, then we’d have a lot of plugin folders.
In reply to: Welcome pack plugin errors : missing argumentAs far as I know the creator hasn’t been that actively working on the plugin which is why it doesn’t work perfectly/not at all anymore. Just wait till the creator updates his plugin or just send him a mail and ask if he could help you further.
In reply to: Saving translation gives errorsFound the buggy lines, kind of weird because poEdit said that I was done translating. Anyway, edited them and now I can easily open it.
Now just finding out why buddypress doesnt copy the wpmu language setting.
In reply to: Re-do output bp_activity_content()For the people that are interested, here’s what I ended up doing.
function get_activity_flatline( $content ) {
$striptags = array("<p>", "</p>");
$content2 = str_replace($striptags, "", $content);
$content3 = substr($content2, 0, strpos($content2, '<span class="time-since">'));
return $content3;
}
add_filter( 'bp_get_activity_content', 'get_activity_flatline' );Not pretty or anything, but it works for me. If you want the time to keep being displayed, change the
<span class="time-since">into<blockquote>.Do you mean that it doesnt show as a tooltip or that it doesnt appear in the source code? IE has always been the ugly duckling among the browsers so you cant think that its that strange that it behaves differently.
Btw, I’m not really following what your problem is here, the only problem of a not appearing alt tag is that it might be a bit bad for SEO. I do not see how that could trouble users.
In reply to: next release dates for BP 1.1.3 / BP 1.2 ?I’m geussing that BP 1.1.3 or even BP 1.2 can be released anytime now, since the About page tells that photo albums will be released end of 2009. But it’s just sit back and wait at the moment..
In reply to: Theme reference guide for 1.1?See the codex, https://codex.buddypress.org/.
Best way to learn theme tags right now is just downloading a few buddypress themes and look at the source. Those on member blogs (if thats what you mean) applies to wpmu and has nothing to do with buddypress.
Use this site (http://wpseek.com/browse/) to look at all wordpress and wpmu functions.
In reply to: Re-do output bp_activity_content()Ok, I’ll try writing my first ever wordpress function then.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
Anything related to a theme which is not the buddypress default theme should be discussed with the creator. We can’t help you and since they are premium themes, I bet they would gladly help you on their forums.
Btw, Andy already closed your other topic.
In reply to: Re-do output bp_activity_content()Bump, still havent found a solution for this.
In reply to: buddypress doesn’t work on stand alone install??!!See this, maybe it’ll help, or else check google.
In reply to: buddypress doesn’t work on stand alone install??!!It is a plugin for wpmu, since you have to install and use it as any other plugin. And yes, if you use a wordpress single install, you will have to switch over too wpmu first.
They plan on making it available for single installs, but don’t hope on that anytime soon.
In reply to: buddypress doesn’t work on stand alone install??!!Read a readme!
In reply to: Horizontal UserbarCheck the themes of Milo.
http://3oneseven.com/wpmu-buddypress-themes/
Change those, those have the bar like you want it.
(You need an understanding of a bit more then css if you want it like your design right now though..)
In reply to: Post via e-mailLet’s stay ontopic guys, we don’t want fights to break out here.
In reply to: wp-signup.php is a blank pageNo, you have to enable user registration in the administration panel.
By the way, make your posts clearer, I didn’t understand what you meant.
In reply to: [ASK] How to install new themesThe whole site is blank? Then try using the standard buddypress theme and see if its still blank. If it is, then try disabling buddypress and see what happens then, still blank, then its a wpmu problem, if not then its a buddypress problem and if the site works when using the default buddypress theme, then the theme your using doesnt work.
At least you’ll know where the problem lies with this.
In reply to: [ASK] How to install new themesDownload theme – take folder out zip/rar file (if present) – upload to wp-content/themes/ – go to site admin > themes and activate the themes – now its installed, if you wanna use it, go to appearance and activate it there.
In reply to: Post via e-mailAs far as I know it’s been taken out of WPMU.
Read this, https://mu.wordpress.org/forums/topic/1857.
In reply to: wp-signup.php is a blank page1. Yes, the problem will be solved, unless offcourse you don’t have member registration on in the wpmu settings.
2. It could affect the wpmu plugins that use the wp-signup.php page, just try and if some plugins stop working or give a error, ask the developer if he can fix it.
In reply to: New Users Not Creating@ cratercraver: Answered your problem in the other topic.
In reply to: wp-signup.php is a blank page@cratercraver: The function.php is supposed to be in your currently used theme folder. If there is already one in there, just add the code to it and if there isn’t a functions.php yet, make one and put it in there.
In reply to: How to display avatars in normal theme at 125px?I’d be interested in different sizes of avatars in buddypress, personally I don’t like or use gravatars, so don’t have a problem with that.
Besides, in the Netherlands nobody actually uses gravatar, since everyone uses Hyves (famous dutch social network) to blog and do other stuff.
In reply to: Auto assign role to user on certain blogLooks good, I’ll try to edit that one and see how far I come, thanks!
