@ derek, i have also bp events and group blog installed.

My update from 2.8.6 to 2.9.1 was ok. No problem at all with my 14 other plugins except bp-ajax-chat (because of a js version error from the chat plugin)

Did you updated manually as sayed by donncha here ?

There is a missing closing tag after #IbImage.

in the plugin css file there should be something with

background: url(../images/the plugin icon) 88% 52% no-repeat;

put in the right path and file name and add this

padding: 0.55em 3em 0.55em 0 !important;

margin-right: 0.85em !important;

i’m using bp-events 1.1 on 1.1.3 and wpmu 2.8.6

I don’t know if it’s the best plugin, but it work correctly and is well coded…

Of course it is ! Did you refresh your page ?

When on “create a post” you have all the usal insert buttons and above there is a line with the media insert buttons.

At the beginning of the line is written something like “add a media”… buttons are grey so it could be possible you think they are not activated ! But they are !

You can create categories with the category widget. (and choice the display)

And create your page(s) within each category (this allow also nested cat – sub cat nav)

Hidding your page with the CSS trick display:none is pure illusion.

It’s not by changing the wallpaper that you lock your door !

The screen is effectively blank, but the datas are all visible by using right-click “view page source”.

If your datas need privacy, you have to use something better as display:none;

Of course i can translate directly in the plugin, but i don’t want to do that…

This said, the plugin needs effectively to be rewriten at his locale level. The function who actually do this is a bit…hum… complicated and .. haaaaaaa….weird. (je reste poli tu vois)

gettext is ok, some of the people who use it not so much (or as well)

WPMU 2.8.6 -> and in june WP 3.0

WP 2.9.1 / 3.0 alpha -> and in june WP 3.0

BP 1.2 -> and in june 1.3 ?

There are so many things to update in the next 6 mounth… yeap !

Meanwhile if somebody could clean the WP plugin repository from the very old/obsoletes stuff it contains it would be great too.

i’m testing this new configuration since a few days on a standard mutualized host…

WP/BP are working correctly but not well, because of openbase_dir restriction, mostly used on mutu hosts. It’s not really restrictive, only updates and some updates don’t work ! More difficult would be the plugins, some are really poor coded and this time, they will explode completly (and disapear if there authors don’twon’t update seriously)

I tried different things to change path and so, but openbase_dir is always coming up. And of course my host can’t do nothing except proposing me a better host contract

Also, don’t try to use WP 3.0 pre alpha at this time with the BP trunk, it’s very unstable. Use WP 2.9 and BP trunk or stable

Yes you can simply add the new strings. You can update your po file with the appropriate .pot file which is in each BP version update , in the bp-language folder (pot file is also avaible on the trunk)

If you use PoEdit, open the po file and use the menu – update from catalog. Choose the new .pot file, click ok and PoEdit shows you the new & obsoletes strings…
