    You can modify the pagination (example – not tested). BP use the wordpress function paginate_link()

    Sorry, but you’re on a very specific wordpress plugin support. It is not the place for such basic question (what are the short codes). BuddyPress doesn’t provide shortcodes.

    This plugin is not common, and not the most easiest to use. The forum is maintained by volonteers, and unfortunately not by profesional teachers. If you are very new to BuddyPress, and apparently to WordPress too, you have to do your homework.

    You can get starter information on both codex. For BuddyPress you get access to appropriate documentation via the above menu bar.

    For WordPress, and specifically your question, click here.

    Thank you for your understanding.

    Hi,

    BP pages are not ordinary WP pages. BP use the page system to assign a permanent slug, while content stays dynamic. Usual WP pages are static.

    BP pages must be unique. This means also without assigned template, model and of course, should be a slug to a page, and not a sub-page. These page are not intended to be published and exist only for internal use. You don’t need to build a menu for register and activation. Normally, these items come up, depending the context (theme, plugins, widgets) and/or the user status.

    Related to “activation” and “register” and most of BP components, you need to declare a “page” for each, despite the fact that BP will only use them to insert a template. Registration will receive xprofile fields which are added to the existing WP registration form.
    And another template for the Activation stuff, depending the context: activation key, success message and so on.

    Good check ! I always forgot this…

    OK. Let’s say that the issue is the child theme.

    What is a child theme ? An empty style.css containing a header information saying to WP, hey here is a child !

    Another file can be there: functions.php. This file is empty and will be filled in the time with custom functions.

    With BuddyPress, you can have a “buddypress” folder, containing rewamped templates. For example, the profile header template or your member directory page…

    As BP template where recently modified (2.7), you have to verify your template customization (if any). See here if it helps:

    Template Updates 2.7

    If you’re not concerned by templates, you have to check your custom functions or custom JS (if any)

    And voila.

    How can i know what you made wrong if you don’t provide the code you used ?
    Note also that BP comes with a login widget. And normally you haven’t to create a login form.

    If you create a field group called Business Details, you simply add as many fields you want!
    Let’s say, you want that users can fill about 5 companies or society. In this case, you need to create a field for each input, in other words 5 fields. And if you need more details for each, you add the fields you need, one by one:

    Business 1: [___]

    Address 1: [___]

    Office 1 hours: [___]

    Business 2: [___]

    Address 2: [___]

    Office 2 hours: [___]

    Or if you use a lot of details, you group each businness separately.

    For better clarity of the default profile details output, when you have a lot of information to display, is to use this very handy plugin: buddypress-profile-tabs

    @jeffwilliams-1,
    @pare81,

    did you respect the size instruction ? Sizes are theme dependant and vary from one install to another.
    When it comes to image issues under BP, you’ll need to test your install without any plugin and only a Twenty theme active (never another one) as first and check if you can upload medias.
    If OK, you activate BP and check again.

    You may also verify that the attachment folder exist and has eventually the correct write rights on the server: wp-content/uploads/buddypress/members/USER_ID/cover-image/ Similar path may exist for groups, which use /groups/GROUP_ID/ instead of /members/USER_ID/

    If all is OK with Twenty, WP and BP, you can activate your plugins, one by one and testing after each. If still OK, you activate or install the definitive theme.

    If things went wrong at this stage, you can be sure there is an issue with YOU or the theme.

    You because you have omit a setting or did a wrong setting, or the theme, because all was ok while using a Twenty…

    Hi,

    Banner sizes are theme dependant, and basic CSS work to customize.
    You have to do that via a child theme or your theme custom css option (if exist).

    Do you mean that any use case should be precisely documented or would examples be enough, finally ? 🙂

    Wordings can be changed in the language file.
    Slugs can be changed by function.

    As you use a plugin, you may check inside his code and files to accomplish your customization. Or search or ask for help on his support.

    BuddyPress comes with his own form on xprofile component.

    In 99% of cases, you haven’t to use an external form plugin. For the remaining 1%, you need good php knowledge to accomplish some custom work.

    Everything you need to know about xprofile fields is explained here:

    Check your BP pages.
    Do they exist ?
    Are they unique ?
    Have you setup your permalinks ?
    Have you tested with a Twenty theme ?

    Thank you @tempsgranollers for the feedback.

    It is always important to update WordPress to his latest version.

    This rule is also valid for plugins and themes

    I have no idea of what is going on. What you could test is following:

    deactivate the language switcher
    deactivate also the theme and use 2016
    assuming default language is english and BP display “ago”
    go to WP’s general settings and change the main language from english to german

    “ago” should be “vor”
    then setup french as site language and you should get “il y a”.

    As this stage, the test confirms that all BP language files are OK when 2016 theme is on.

    Now activate your theme and see what happen’s.

    The first line code is an action hook. In other words a placeholder. This means also that, so far i remember, that it does nothing by default. It is there if you need to add some text before your register fields for example, or a video or any other content you can hook in there, by the way.

    Also i don’t think that you can/have to modify some metadata from there. When you see this code, you’re on the register template. Far away from metadatas which are usually all declared in the site header.

    If your goal is to remove “powered by Events Manager”, you’ve better to search in the Events Manager plugin files for the function who generate this meta.

    you can do this yourself or use a TOS plugin. Read here for details:

    You need to test first with a twenty theme before saying that BP isn’t working !
    Activate Twenty Siwteen and see what you get.

    Fr translation has no issue, nor german one.
    The issue may be in your language selector or multilingual plugin…

    We can’t help users using premium themes.
    BP is displaying properly with any Twenty themes. Have you tested the output with one of them ?

    After that you have to adjust your (child) theme if you see a difference.

    @cofindrs,

    BuddyPress doesn’t handle likes. That’s 3rd party plugin territory.
    If Super Socializer has a notification option for BP users who doesn’t work, the solution is on the plugin author side.

    If you think you can get a BP notification because somebody liked a post with help of Super Socializer, and there is no BP specific option in the plugin, i guess it is not possible.

    Would be great to see more details about your statement: (Heateor) say that it is an issue in BP. Can you share a link to the discussion ?

    Did you asked yourself for this issue on their support ? Your name doesn’t appear.

    @darrenllrgmailcom,

    when you bingo bongo a theme like Avada, you should take in account that you have to “integrate” most of external elements such as plugins.

    It’s not a ready to use theme you can deploy over anything without attention. It is a theme buider with hundreds of options in an environment.

    So i guess it is the case with Recaptcha plugin. First thing to do is to check how it reacts whith Twenty Sixteen. If Recaptcha ouput is correct on mobile, pick the css from the plugin and add it to your child theme.

    Hi @darrenllrgmailcom, @adjunkten,

    i had the same issue with a custom theme: fields didn’t wrap properly on small screens…
    To solve it, i simply copied the concerned form rules from Twenty Sixteen into my child theme css and all went OK after that.

    The 2016 rules of the register page:

    #buddypress #signup_form.standard-form #profile-details-section,
    #buddypress #signup_form.standard-form #basic-details-section,
    #buddypress #signup_form.standard-form #blog-details-section {
    	float: none;
    	width: 100%;
    }

    @media screen and (min-width: 38.75em) {
    	#buddypress #signup_form.standard-form #profile-details-section,
    	#buddypress #signup_form.standard-form #basic-details-section,
    	#buddypress #signup_form.standard-form #blog-details-section {
    		width: 48%;
    	}
    }

    @media screen and (min-width: 38.75em) {
    	#buddypress #signup_form.standard-form #profile-details-section {
    		float: right;
    	}
    	#buddypress #signup_form.standard-form #basic-details-section {
    		float: left;
    	}
    }
