do you use a cache plugin ? If so clear it. Check also _signups table
In reply to: [Resolved] Username input field missingGlad you got it ๐
In reply to: [Resolved] Username input field missingthe missing field belongs to the wordpress part of the register page.
Check your wp / bp settings (allow user to register) and on BP settings check profile syncing with wordpress users.Source code tells also this when only highlighting the link you mention
<link href=”data:image/png;base64 … followed by a very long encrypted code block.
I would suggest to check for such a base64 in all theme files, just in case of you’re victim of a malicious injection or simply use some wrong code in your beta plugin.
Your site is loading slow and with such encoded png’s the culprit is probably the images.

In reply to: Facebook share button in Profilei’m not a FB user, and never be one, so i could not answer to your question.
But it seems to me that – if FB check the profile URL, that he would build a share interface or template with a whole profile excerpt or something. We both don’t know, so try the snippet as is first, and ask after.
In reply to: Facebook share button in Profilehi @igid26,
FB’s share button on a buddyPress profile is very simple to use.
You have only to provide the profile URL, not the whole profile header.
https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/share-buttonThe code could be something like this (not tested, not sure if you need also a API key, or some urlencoding)
<a href="https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=http://example.com/members/zuzana/">Share on Facebook</a>The picture cannot fit as you use bp_displayed_user_avatar( ‘type=full’ ) which is by default 150x150px. And FB’s code you entered is 550×550 !
To add some extra code in the header profile, you can do this with a function in a child theme functions.php instead of hardcoding the template. And another great advantage, if you use bp-custom.php, you will be totally theme independant.
function zuzanna_share_button() { ?> <a href="https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=<?php bp_displayed_user_link(); ?>">Share on Facebook</a> <?php } add_action( 'bp_before_member_header_meta', 'zuzanna_share_button' );In reply to: "customize" groups creationIt’s a bit theme dependant, but by default the element is a:
Example with twenty thirteen:
.entry-header .entry-title a::before { content:'Tango and ';}Not ideal, because it is not useable on the group directory itself, and where it affects also the create a group button.
In reply to: [Resolved] Warning message on my activity pagesearch for Login_Helper in the deactivate plugin and in your theme, and you’ll find the culprit. Once found and identified, contact the author and tell him about.
In reply to: [Resolved] Make members list default to alphabeticalYou’re welcome, and thank you for the advice. I corrected the snippet accordingly.
hi @fumow,
here is a way to color any group activity on the site activity.
Group A is red, Group B is green. The function use the group ID and add a class to the existing. You can modify it in your child theme style.css file
Function can be installed in functions.php or bp-custom.php
function fumow_li_class_group_id( $class = '' ) { global $activities_template; // the group id in case of an activity in group component is the field item_id if ( buddypress()->groups->id == $activities_template->activity->component ) { $class .= ' rj-' . $activities_template->activity->item_id; } return $class; } add_filter( 'bp_get_activity_css_class', 'fumow_li_class_group_id', 10, 1 );You have to create a css class for each group. The example use group ID 13 and 9
li.groups.activity-item.rj-13 { background-color: #FFD5F4; } li.groups.activity-item.rj-9 { background-color: #be4; }References:
bp-activity-templatetags.phpMay this help !
No worry, you’re welcome !
It’s only a php notice. Such message are not really errors, but more some information telling you you have/made something wrong around coding standarts.
No idea what is happening with your theme, sorry.
You have to debug the whole install.
when you provide an image of an issue, don’t use a thumbnail, but a screenshot! The one above is too small to see something.
When you highlight the prev next block, and check the source code(right click > source code of the selection) , you will see that it is related to jetpack.
In reply to: How do you make Site Activity page RANDOM?It seems to focus on Members random page.
Ya, but only seems. The codex is not a ready-to-use answer to any kind of problematic or the solution for anything, but a guide who explains how things can/should be done with BuddyPress.
That’s why you’ll find essentially examples who can be used to extend or achieve your projects.Codex pages are written by volonteers (like you tomorrow ?), and none of them is able to know or to write about any given issue, situation, need.
It certainly would be an awesome codex, if every BP user would share some snipppet or simply some experience, by adding his personnal how-to…
Hold on ! You have to try, experiment and realize yourself. The other face of freedom and open source, i guess
If you have questions, do not hesitate. Like the codex, this forum is yours. ๐

8) enjoy your dashboard: one for the main site and one for the network
9) don’t forget the milk bottleHeadache ?
In reply to: create a group – name labelgolden rule: never change a core file.
If you want to customize things you should use a child theme. And to ad/remove or modify core functions, you should use your child theme’s functions.php or bp-custom.php
In create.php are 18 hooks you can use to add some custom explanation !
In your case, you may hook intodo_action( 'bp_before_group_details_creation_step' );https://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes
https://codex.buddypress.org/plugindev/bp-custom-php/In reply to: Installing BP and creating new pages? Is that correct? YES !
The rest of your topic, even if respectable, is a bit due to your inhabitude of BP i guess. And probably also of some WP usage around pages.
You can create as many pages as you want with WP. The difference between a page and post in WP is tiny, but very important. Both are post, but not with the same type ($post_type->post and $post_type->page). All this is detailled on the WP Codex.BuddyPress is a plugin and use his component pages only for internal puprpose – because WP need them to work with BP… and conversely!
BP is shipped with some widgets, including a member’s widget with 3 filters letting you do exactly what you discribe.
For other custom use of buddypress, you can search for dedicated buddypress plugins on the plugin repo.
In reply to: Username prediction/autocomplete not working for PMsHi @sapinfoasap,
you’re jumping in a old thread concerning BP 1.7/1.8 aera! If the discribed issue “maybe” the same as yours, @mercime ‘s answer applies also to you.
Please open a new topic, give your theme name, used plugins and any customisation you added in functions or bp-custom.php and describe your issue.
The upcoming BP 2.1 (2.1 beta is ahead !) version contains a great improvement around at @mention and usernames input box. And very generally, the message sending system over BP is working flawless since a while.
