In reply to: exclude not approved user from member page
No idea. But have you read this on plugin support ? Maybe it can help ?
https://wordpress.org/support/topic/anyway-to-see-user-registration-before-approving-user
Guess you have to pick up the correct URL. Read from here to understand how it works:
In reply to: BP exclude member roleHi @pws2015,
please use button when you insert code in a post. Thx.
bbPress is a separate plugin, so it is intended to work like this untill you code something to your need.
See both links at the bottom of this codex page:
Subscribing to bbPress topics is explained here:
In reply to: Translation issue in main nav menuRe-check your po file and see if the original word hasn’t a count beside it. Something like
Members %s. Many translation are omitting this or use an erroneous variable ( something like % or %d or…nothing). In any case, the translation should contain, if exist in the original, such variables.
Same remark if you use plugins or a theme who modify the menu. You can also check for the new nav API examples you could eventually help you to rename the items, but only if nothing goes to work with translation itself.
In reply to: create an account pageHi,
activate-2means that you trashed anactivatepage which is still in the trash. You should clear it first than rename the slug ofactivate-2toactivate.Check also the slug of your other BP pages, in case of. Once anything is correct, go to permalinks, set an option except default and save.
In reply to: Unable to disable double-click on “Post Update”.Hi,
despite it is not a BuddyPress issue, but a common coding task, here is what i would try to apply (or try to use) your place.
The button ID can be found in bp-legacy/buddypress/activity/post-form.php
Nothing to do with previous, your php version is no more maintained since 10th july 2016. Consider updating to 5.6 or 7.0
In reply to: custom buddypress-functions.php?Hi,
normally you haven’t to touch mentions.min.js, jquery.atwho.min.js, jquery.caret.min.js, along with other buddypress core js files. If you need to customize buddypress JS, use buddypress.js from within the child theme.
about js and child theme:

In reply to: How to change default from Activity to ProfileThis is really vague: I did and tried but it did not work. What have you tried ? Which activity are you talking about ? Site, members, groups ?
When a drama is only an incident… 🙂 Glad you got it!
Hi,
apparently there is a conflict somewhere. Do you receive php notice or warnings with wp_debug activated ? The fn you mention posts new Activity comments received via a POST request.
Before opening a ticket, can you provide some more details about your install please ? Server type, php version and memory_limit.
Theme
Is Valenti theme updated to fit with BuddyPress 2.6 ? No information about this detail on the theme presentation even if recent update (23/6/2016). But it’s crucial to know, as many things changed in 2.6+Plugins
Hashbuddy wasn’t updated since 2 years.
Do you use WDS-BuddyPress-Project-Framework ?Debug
To test, you can deactivate all plugins except BP. It’s important you ensure that at least the basic install of WP+BP is fully working. First with a twenty theme and second, with your theme (not the child). If the site is for a client, you’re a pro. Hopefully you have a sandbox install (locally or online) to do this debug work ?!!!
In reply to: Recommend caching plugin for BPMay be consider WP Rocket, a premium cache plugin: https://wp-rocket.me/features/
In reply to: will the buddypress be compatible with php7?In reply to: [Resolved] BP 2.6 and BuddyPress Group Extras PluginThanks a lot for this heavy coding night @slaffik. I started to repair it myself, when i see you where updating! So i followed the updates in real time.
So far i see, it’s working now. Большое спасибо !In reply to: Add New Group Tab/Page with Sub-MenuHi @tammy1999
plugin was just updated, you can download it from here:
https://github.com/slaFFik/BP-Groups-ExtrasIn reply to: Making the users’ articles appear on profilesHi,
your specs:
- be able to click on the title
- see the excerpt instead of the full article
- the full-sized featured images above the titles
- a way to see how many articles were written by our users
The number of posts is showed beside the item, like the other BP counts on the buddybar.
The new code to use:
function bpfr_get_post() { $myposts = get_posts( array( 'posts_per_page' => 3, // set the number of post to show 'author' => bp_displayed_user_id(), // show only this member post 'post_type' => 'post', 'orderby' => 'post_date', 'order' => 'DESC', 'post_status' => 'publish' )); if( ! empty( $myposts ) ) { foreach($myposts as $post) { setup_postdata( $post ); $page_object = get_post( $post ); if ( has_post_thumbnail( $post->ID ) ) { echo get_the_post_thumbnail( $post->ID, 'full-size', array( 'class' => 'alignleft' ) ); } echo '<h3 class="profile_post"><a href="'. esc_url( get_permalink( $post->ID ) ) .'">'. $page_object->post_title .'</a></h3>'; if ( empty( $post->post_excerpt ) ) { echo wp_kses_post( wp_trim_words( $post->post_content, 20 ) ); } else { echo wp_kses_post( $post->post_excerpt ); } } wp_reset_postdata(); } else { echo '<div class="info" id="message">No post actually</div>'; } } add_action ( 'my_profile_post', 'bpfr_get_post' ); function bpfr_post_profile_setup_nav() { global $bp; $parent_slug = 'articles'; $child_slug = 'posts_sub'; $post_count = count_user_posts( bp_displayed_user_id(), array('post', 'post' ) ); //Add nav item with posts count bp_core_new_nav_item( array( 'name' => __( 'Articles' ) .'<span>'.$post_count.'</span>', 'slug' => $parent_slug, 'screen_function' => 'bpfr_profile_post_screen', 'position' => 40, 'default_subnav_slug' => $child_slug ) ); //Add subnav item bp_core_new_subnav_item( array( 'name' => __( 'My 3 latest posts' ), 'slug' => $child_slug, 'parent_url' => $bp->loggedin_user->domain . $parent_slug.'/', 'parent_slug' => $parent_slug, 'screen_function' => 'bpfr_profile_post_screen' ) ); } function bpfr_profile_post_screen() { add_action( 'bp_template_content', 'bpfr_profile_post_screen_content' ); bp_core_load_template( apply_filters( 'bp_core_template_plugin', 'members/single/plugins' ) ); } function bpfr_profile_post_screen_content() { do_action( 'my_profile_post' ); } add_action( 'bp_setup_nav', 'bpfr_post_profile_setup_nav' );Hi,
Assuming you want to add a menu item to WP main nav bar as single menu item
Try this, from within bp-custom.php/* link to My Groups on WP main menu */ function my_nav_menu_group_link( $menu ) { if ( !is_user_logged_in() ) return $menu; else $grouplink = '<li><a href="' . bp_loggedin_user_domain() . '/groups/">My Groups</a></li>'; $menu = $menu . $grouplink; return $menu; } add_filter( 'wp_nav_menu_items', 'my_nav_menu_group_link' );In reply to: tinymce post-form missing “post update” buttonStripped tags ? See a possible solution here:
https://buddypress.org/support/topic/remove-html-tags-excluding-image-tag-from-activity-stream/#post-234068In reply to: Private messagesGuess you have to ask eventsmanager author to implement a such feature for BP.
In reply to: How to hide profile menu items from other usersStop ! Please, i allreay answered to this. Now it is time to learn and experiment by yourself.
In reply to: tinymce post-form missing “post update” buttonCompare source code of the textarea on activities (which use original BP JS) and compare with the source of the custom textarea. The first thing you may notice on the original, is that there is no iframe.
The second is that you have some tinymce related divs which aren’t handled by what’s new JS – that’s why the visual tab doesn’t recognize formatted text and why there is the filter to diable that tab.
To show the buton and the missing selector, it’s a simple CSS adjustment to declare.
Add this to your child theme style.css#whats-new-options{ clear:both!important; }Works at least on 2016.
If you absolutely want the visual tab to work, you have to write some additionnal JS, so it can recognize the custom area tools. I’ve never done that and i’m unable to help you with this.
Can you provide the complete code you use for that and also tell where the menu item goes inside groups ?
In reply to: How to hide profile menu items from other usersof course that define works also for private groups ! Has nothing to do with group status.
If it really dosn’t work for you, you have an error somewhere, but current home tab is not related to group privacy. Members access is restricted, not the output.
define( 'BP_GROUPS_DEFAULT_EXTENSION', 'members' );In reply to: Improving profile picture uploadIn addition, and relative to this point:
Often people don’t have a profile picture on their harddrive/desktopyou can use BP Avatar Suggestion
If profile informations are important for your project, you can also use my BuddyPress Progress Bar plugin, which helps any site administrator to kindly remember his community members to complete their profile in a clear, significant and non-obstrusive way.
