In reply to: buddypress + p2 theme
It’s Automattic’s theme, and they use it on http://wpdevel.wordpress.com/
In reply to: Member avatar for blog – code, please ?The bit you’d want to change is /[membertheme]/directories/blogs/blogs-loop.php line 16, the call to bp_the_site_blog_avatar_thumb().
I’m too tired to figure out how to get the author/owner ID from the blog ID. If we could figure that out, you’d just change that bp_the_site_blog_avatar_thumb() function call appropriately and it would be easy, though you would be changing a core file (making future BP upgrades a PITA).
That’s the quick way. A better way would be to make use of the filter called ‘bp_get_blogs_blog_avatar_thumb_BLOGID’. In something like bpcustom.php, you would somehow get WPMU to return an array of all the blog IDs on the site. You’d then be able to write one function and call it via add_filter and then do exactly the same as in the “quick way” above.
Hopefully someone else can dig in and suggest how to get the author ID from the blog ID, then you can decide which to go for. I’d recommend the latter solution – though more complicated to do, saves time later.
In reply to: buddypress + p2 themeThanks so much sir!
In reply to: buddypress + p2 themeThere’s a donate link to my paypal on the right-hand side of this page https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/welcome-pack/
In reply to: Keeps loading without doing anything?Odd thought I have just had – have you installed Buddypress, or its themes, using symlinks? If you have, copy the directories/files and don’t use a symlink path.
If you don’t know what a symlink is, then disregard
In reply to: New Password For User ProblemYeah, and I haven’t tried it – I just did a quick search to point you in the right direction
@Eric, are you trying this with any other plugins other than BP? If you are, move those plugins out the way for the moment. It’d be handy to know when exactly you get this error message, too.
In reply to: Profile Edit not workingWell, it works for me. Must be your install.
Have checked to see that all the rest of BP works?
In reply to: Easy web interface for changing languageRonia, note John said “soon.”
In reply to: Official “Extend” link for BP ?It’s hiding under the ‘Developers’ menu section – direct link is https://buddypress.org/extend/plugins/. Of course, I would expect 99.9% of WPMU plugins to work too.
In reply to: New Password For User ProblemSomething like https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wordpress-password-register/ ?
In reply to: User pointsYes, I’m working something I’m calling Achievements which is inspired by the World of Warcraft/Xbox 360 achievemens systems.
In reply to: Profile CommentsLook in (drumroll!) bp-xprofile.php, namely the xprofile_get_field_data() function which I think is what you need. Is that the kind of thing you were after?
In reply to: buddypress + p2 themeHey, I’ve just written to and received an email from one of the guys – Noel – who’ve done the P2 theme and he seems willing to look at some additions to better support plugins and widgets that rely on what are otherwise standard filter actions.
The above works as an interim but hopefully at next weekend I can go over it all and check things properly, then feed back to Noel.
In reply to: buddypress + p2 themeOk, so this is with the current download-able version of P2 (not a trunk version):
functions.php – in function prologue_new_post():
//Find these two lines at the bottom of the function:
echo $post_id? $post_id : '0';
exit;
//Above them, put this:
if ( $post_id ) do_action( 'edit_post', $post_id, get_post( $post_ID ) );
functions.php – in function prologue_new_post_noajax():
//Find these two lines at the bottom of the function:
wp_redirect( get_bloginfo( 'url' ) . '/' );
exit;
//Above them, put this:
if ( $post_id ) do_action( 'edit_post', $post_id, get_post( $post_ID ) );
In reply to: Profile Groups fonts not the sameYes, that’s correct. I see the same. Therefore, I assume that is an intentional design decision. It looks worse on your screenshot than it does on my PC; obviously, our computers have different fonts installed.
In reply to: Group and forum problems…@Peterpan77 – please do not shout. No-one replied to your last post a week ago, and shouting won’t have convinced anyone otherwise.
If you do not have exactly the same problems that Sugarmindy has, please start a new topic.
@Sugarmindy – most of this thread consists of posts you have made. Personally I find it very hard to collect and compile all of your info in my head. Can I suggest we start over? Please reply here providing the info we have asked for at https://buddypress.org/forums/topic.php?id=2674 and summarise your problems again, like you did in the first post (if they are still relevant). Thanks
In reply to: buddypress + p2 themeI have just run into this (I think) – a post on my blog using P2 doesn’t appear on the main blog in the Sitewide activity; I guess it’s just missing an action call.
This evening when I get in I will fix it and update this thread with the fix.
In reply to: Users cannot access dashboard or write blogsHi. Basics: What version of WPMU and BuddyPress are you using?
Also: What version of MySQL is your server running please? Also, I have heard BlueHost supports only subdirectory installs as it doesn’t support wildcard subdomains, so can you confirm you’re trying the subdirectory install?
If that last question makes no sense, try removing your WPMU / BP install and databases and try reuploading/reinstalling manually, not using SimpleScripts. A search on this forum has revelead at least one person saying that their problems on BlueHost went away after they did a manual install.
In reply to: Strange URLs in Site Wide ActivityIn reply to: incorrect links in sitewide activityIn reply to: Creating links to profile pagesI am not familiar with this widget, but I imagine it has a text box where you write what you want to appear in your sidebar. The problem is, that sort of input is protected against malicious attacks or accidents; it escapes javascript and php.
This is the problem. You need to find a diff way of doing this
In reply to: Fatal Error Upon ActivationYou are using WordPress instead of WordPress MU. BuddyPress requires WordPress MU currently.
In reply to: Black AvatarsSo as per the bit of error msg you posted (possibly unrelated to the blank avatar icon I think but anyway):
[Wed May 27 11:52:40 2009] [error] [client 66.249.71.151] File does not exist: /home/thehsm/public_html/wp-content/plugins/membership-site-memberwing/function.require-once
That is a) a garbled filename/file path and b) not part of BuddyPress. I suggest talking to the author of that plugin to try to find out what’s going on. There appears to be some specific instructions in that plugin’s readme.txt about where to locate the memberwing.php file.
In reply to: Black AvatarsHey, I don’t want bugs
give them to Burt!Welcome Pack doesn’t touch anything to do with avatars.
