What do you mean by deleted manually?
If you mark the account as a spammer, they can’t log in with that ID/email again. What’s the goal in deleting them?
In reply to: Cant delete updates on groups activity?Your theme may be hiding it, but on mine, I see a line
“Foobar posted an update in the group [GROUP]: 3 hours ago · updated 1 hour, 17 minutes ago · View · Delete”
In reply to: Block user from all forumsMark him as a bozo, on the backend of bbPress, or a spammer on the ack end of WordPress. Oughta do it…
Woopra might be able to do that.
In reply to: “Join Group” link does nothing on my siteFYI, I fixed mine by manually forcing “ into my theme files. Put it right above the actions.
In reply to: “Join Group” link does nothing on my siteIt seems to work now. How did you fix it?
In reply to: Log IP addressesI should have come back.
I wrote this. Works fine on BuddyPress.
In reply to: adminbar issue with YouTube and Internet Explorer!I have that same problem with WordPress’s built in oEmbed’s actually.
In reply to: Log IP addressesPaul – Yes, the server logs IPs, but battling trolls would be a LOT easier if you could just go and look at an IP for account creation in the User Table or something similar.
https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/register-ip/ helps, though it doesn’t put the IP in the MultiSite users menu…
In reply to: BuddyPress Spam@TedMann – No, manually going to your signup page will not trip the spam alarm. Putting in the URL with all the submit stuff (like attempting to pass registration info via the URL instead of entering it like a human) will trip the alarm. What it’s checking for is the POST command, and was THAT passed through by your site. Otherwise no one would ever be able to sign up

Yeah, switch to blog is why I’ve not gotten any further, alas
I do wish this worked like FaceBook, somewhat, but unless I had it pulled in on bp_blogs_record_activity_content, maybe tell that ‘and get post_thumbnail_id’ but right now I’m happy with the excerpt! In reply to: How to add custom $usermeta to registrationThis only seems to half work.
When an account registers, the metadata is stored in the signup table. When the account ACTIVATES, that data never shows up in the usermeta table.
(I’m trying to record the IP address of user when they register and then spit it out in a pretty way. IMO, this is pretty important for CMS so you can see if a run of morons are all the same troll or not, rather than waiting for them to comment.)
Brilliant!
For posts without a crafted excerpt, it’s the same as always. For posts WITH one, it’s the excerpt! Now to trick it into pulling featured post images
….Okay, we’ll see how that goes (I have a scheduled post for 1am every day
)Oy. The fun!
Some free time returned.
You can either request an additional parameter for unfiltered text in the “bp_blogs_record_activity_content” filter or in the “bp_create_excerpt” filter.
So that now exists thanks to @r-a-y ( https://trac.buddypress.org/ticket/2481 )
I’m assuming I need to tell bp_blogs_record_activity_content to use the excerpt, but would that just be using the code r-a-y already made here: http://pastebin.com/s9PajKjU or something else.
In reply to: Showing WordPress blog comments in activitiesThey do, but only for registered users.
If you have unregistered users posting comments, try BP Include Non-member Comments
In reply to: Is WP Supercache okay to use with BP?I’m using it right now, and there are a couple, very weird and very specific issues. If you do either of these actions, your cache will get wiped out:
1) Edit your BP profile
2) Send a PMOther than that, I haven’t found any issues! You can change your notification settings and you can post to the ‘wire’ without a problem, but those two things kill the whole cache every time.
So far, I have the following set to never cache:
wp-.*.php
index.php
activity
register
profile
groupsI had issues with W3 total cache and the DB caching. So far I’ve not needed it, though.
Thank you both of you! Now I have a better start point!
It’s bp_create_excerpt() that’s killing me.
If I could replace (or change) that to check for the existence of an excerpt and, if found, spit THAT back, it’d be perfection.
In reply to: Wrong Avatar and Gravatar after BP updateIn reply to: Wrong Avatar and Gravatar after BP updateJust upgraded to 1.2.4 and this happened again. So … No. Trac time!
In reply to: when release of BP 1.2.4@erich73, I can tell you’re really excited about the new version, but asking every couple days if they’re done is kind of like being the kid in the back of the car ‘are we there yet?’

Have faith and a little more patience. They’ll put out 1.2.4 when it’s done and working, and not rush it just to get it out there. Right now, the roadmap says they’re 81% done. They MIGHT even be waiting for WordPress 3.0 to get finished since both projects are right next to each other. But they’ll get done soon

It took me a while to think about this.
I mostly like it, but the ‘faded’ quality of the colors is weirding me out.
- Text in the forums is a little … small. Compare it to wordpress.org and notice how their text is a little darker and larger. That is much easier to read for the majority of people, I’d think.
- The blue for links should be darker
- The grey for alternate posts is a great background color. Don’t change.
- The TEXT in the post-reply form is too light.
- The text in the Post Reply button is similarly too light.
The other thought I have is hard to quantify, but I’m going to say it anyway. Something about the GROUPS makes it feel like a hobby site, rather than a serious ‘business’ site (yeah, I said it). I’m not sure if it’s the rounded corners missing, or the general paleness of the site, but something feels off. Casual.
Yeah, that were crap feedback. Sorry.
(Oh and the fact that HTML isn’t working? Like I put LI and UL in this post and it’s borked? Is frustrating.)
In reply to: BBpress setup through buddypress plugin? What kind of errors? The error itself may help

At the minute once the user logs in it redirects the to their profile page. How and where do i include that code so the home button disappears?
Those are two different questions.
Login With Ajax would help with the redirect. https://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/login-with-ajax/As for the home button, in your header.php you just wrap is user logged in around Home. See https://wordpress.org/support/topic/367625?replies=5 for a bit more (and some oddities people are having with it…)
