@tonywong Internal Server Error for your whole site. Please post back when you get your site up and running again. In addition, please provide a throw-away username and password so we don’t need to register to help you with the overlapping elements.
In reply to: can't leave a comment on a post@totoff Hi. You’re using a premium theme, Dynamix. Please change to the Twenty Fourteen theme and check if issue is resolved. Please contact the premium theme author as we have no access to the theme.
In reply to: Buddypress Plugin creating pagination error@jay_chauhan first time I’ve seen this issue reported. What theme are you using? Change to Twenty Fourteen to check if issue is resolved.
In reply to: Youtube z-index@navinachettri this is not a BuddyPress issue and more like a theme issue. Please check if the issue is resolved if you change to the Twenty Fourteen theme. If it is, then do post at the theme author’s site.
In reply to: members search disappeared@dshirac following are the only BP Widgets https://codex.buddypress.org/buddypress-components-and-features/buddypress-widgets/ Perhaps you mean a feature with another theme or plugin?
In reply to: Edit the Register (Registration page)@joetheboss1998 correct 🙂
In reply to: Edit the Register (Registration page)@joetheboss1998 First, please do not edit core files as these will be overwritten when you upgrade BuddyPress. Second, you’re looking at the wrong file.
Create a folder named
buddypressat the root of your active theme/child theme folder then copy over https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/2.1.1/src/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/members/register.php and place that within thebuddypressfolder created earlier following the directory structure, i.e., wp-content/themes/your-theme-folder/buddypress/members/register.phpIn reply to: How do members create a forum topic and a group?@kris35 You should still be able to create a group using the member dropdown menu on the right side of the admin toolbar Groups > Create assuming that the super/site admin enabled group creation in Settings > BuddyPress > Settings. Best place to ask is at the theme author’s forums as the theme is supposed to have BuddyPress support.
@tiger007xy you’re right in thinking something’s awry in your installation. WP/BP versions? Theme/Plugins used? Have you done some basic troubleshooting like changing to Twenty Fourteen and deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress to check if issue is resolved.
In reply to: Basic PHP HTML Inserting@irieside We cannot generalize where and what to add any/all codes you find online because as I mentioned above, it all depends on what/where the code will be used. Sometimes it only needs a line or just inserting it in one file, sometimes you need to add/delete code in many files.
Link to the page with the code you are referring to and if there’s enough information there, we may be able to help you.
In reply to: Users keep complaining about not being able to login@cartographer Where are you hosted? Server info? https://codex.wordpress.org/Finding_Server_Info What’s in your htaccess file? Single WP or WP Multisite?
In reply to: Adding Friends via Members DirectoryI think it would be better this “Add Friend” button to be replaced from the “Cancel Friendship” button.
@cartographer And that is what’s actually showing up in default installations. I just double-checked, just in case 🙂 Try changing your theme to Twenty Fourteen to see if issue is resolved. If it is, you just might need to update your current theme.
@yeahthatguyjose no worries. marking this as resolved 🙂
In reply to: Users keep complaining about not being able to login@cartographer Not sure why it’s happening in your installation. What theme/plugins are you using? Also, check pending users list in a new admin screen added by BP https://codex.buddypress.org/buddypress-components-and-features/member/pending-users-admin-screen/
In reply to: [Resolved] Change the registration text@fugglet Unless you’re using the BP Default theme, the change you made won’t affect what shows up in your theme as you found out. Instead of revising core files (which would be overwritten when you upgrade next), you could do either of the following:
– copy over https://buddypress.trac.wordpress.org/browser/tags/2.1.1/src/bp-templates/bp-legacy/buddypress/members/register.php into your theme or child theme following the directory structure, i.e. yourThemeName/buddypress/members/register.php and make the changes in that file.

In reply to: [Resolved] Notification – what's wrong here?@dceditore I seen someone’s screenshot of the same issue around a year or so ago. WP/BP versions? What theme are you using and what plugins are activated in your installation? Change to the Twenty Fourteen, deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress, and then check if the issue is resolved on that page.
In reply to: Basic PHP HTML Inserting@irieside It depends on what you’re trying to do. Which code are you referring to?
@johnnyjonjon Glad you resolved the issue. Thanks for posting back with your solution. I’d suggest you mention that to the theme authors. Marking this topic as resolved.
@djpaul Strange, just got notification re mention a few minutes ago. Never seen the issue before and fortunately johnnyjonjon found the js conflict.
In reply to: Top bar – Help me please@icaroferreira
1. Those are the default settings. Logging in and Registering are related but have totally different functions. What exactly is the issue you find with the current settings? BuddyPress has a log in widget which you can add to your sidebar area so that people can just log in in the front end of your site.2. Check out style960’s recommendation above. If that doesn’t work for you, there are plugins like https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-brand-identity-lite/ which can help you customize the toolbar in your site or you can search for other admin bar or toolbar plugins which cater to what you need at https://wordpress.org/plugins/
In reply to: [Resolved] Fatal error activating BuddyPress@worldholder What comes to mind are theme and/or plugin conflict. So change to Twenty Fourteen theme and deactivate all plugins except BuddyPress and see if issues are resolved.
In reply to: [Resolved] Buddypress Suffering Major Issues@destac No worries. Thanks for posting back with your good news. Marking this topic as resolved.
In reply to: Where is the option to register?@icaroferreira “open source” means anyone is free to use the code available in the link Henry gave above. It’s relevant to your query because you can adapt the code for your site or hire a developer to do it for you.
I would like to allow users to browse listings on my site freely until they want to respond to the poster of a listing or post a listing of their own. Only then would they have to register.
@mbwd And that is normal/default configuration for BuddyPress pages. You only need to go to Settings > Discussions check “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” in the other comment settings to cover the regular blog posts.
In reply to: [Resolved] Buddypress Suffering Major Issues@destac Please provivde more information about your installation so that we help you. That is not normal behavior after you activate and configure BuddyPress as you might have figured out by now. https://buddypress.org/support/topic/when-asking-for-support-2/
In reply to: Pointing to the wrong url@elprebsi Last time I checked, Canvas is not compatible with BuddyPress. Confirm with canvas theme support/forums whether latest version is compatible with BP. Check if issue is resolved when using BuddyPress and Twenty Fourteen or any of the WP Default themes only.
