In reply to: Blank page after install buddy pressWas your WP install working before you installed BuddyPress? Did you change Dashboard > Settings > Permalinks from default to other structure and save it?
In reply to: AddingHow to add a post to another member’s page?A number of ways depending on how you want it done:
1. Post on member’s status box https://buddypress.org/community/members/bluebird2/
2. @ mentions of member’s username appears in member’s profile activity area
3. BP Wire Plugin – ala Facebook WallIn reply to: setting up my forum@hkcharlie – You do not have to create subdirectory nor upload bbPress to get the BP group forums going, Go to dashboard – BuddyPress > Forums Setup – and install by following instructions. bb-config.php will be automatically generated.
In reply to: Activity stream as front page in BP 1.2.4, WP 3.0 b2What @hnla said roadmap = BP 1.3 with WP 3.0. No one said BP 1.2.4.1 is compatible with WP 3.0beta/RC. Sure you can test it, but there are no guarantees. Right now, WP/MU 2.9.2 and BP 1.2.4.1 is working for me in test and live installs.
So while upgrades from WPMU 2.9.2 to WP 3.0 beta/RC multisite have been quite smooth in test installs, the BP trunk networking side is rendering some errors with some BP-dependent/extension plugins most often with “Page Not Found” as components are now rendered as WP Pages.
@jamiewarren09 – that’s not specific enough. So WP 2.9.2 and BP 1.2.4.1 – stable versions of WP and BP. Did you delete that directory members you created already? So now deactivate all plugins including BP-dependent plugins and activate BuddyPress only and see how it goes.
You should not create a directory “members” in your server, delete it. What WP and BP versions are you using? Help us help you.

In reply to: Secure Invites for MuCheck Site Admin > Options – Allow new registrations == must be set to “Blogs and user accounts can be created.”
Don’t worry about sploggers, when you have WPMU Secure Invites on, no one can register without an invitation — unless of course one of your members invites one…
In reply to: Widget CSS ProblemYou would just have to copy and customize styling from
https://trac.buddypress.org/browser/tags/1.2.4.1/bp-themes/bp-default/_inc/css/default.css and add the following in your theme’s style.css
– from line 52 to 55, the from line 227 to line 238In reply to: Vertical group menu in WP 3.0Actually BP Nicey child theme has already been upgraded for BP 1.2.4.1 . But as @tomah mentioned above, that screenshot was made when it was a child theme of bp-sn-parent.
In reply to: Secure Invites for MuAlternatively, go to Site Admin > Invites. Then in Invites panel click on “Edit Settings” link. Some things to watch out for if you’re using bp-default or its child theme:
== What is the address of the signup page? (wp-signup.php is the default)
Signup page == make it register.php
== What address do you want the invitation emails to send people to? Please add the full URL to the registration page.
Signup page == if BP is installed in main site == http://yoursite.com/register.php . Or if BP is installed in sub-blog == http://yoursite.com/subblogname/register.php or http://subblogname.yoursite.com/register.phpIn reply to: Secure Invites for MuThis plugin works for me in WPMU install, haven’t tested in WP3.0 multisite. You would need to upload just the plugin file (no need to upload plugin folder) to mu-plugins. Then, although it was not mentioned in instruction, log out, refresh browser and log back in again. See this screenshot for the Settings (Site Admin > Invites) and Invites (Dashboard > Invite). As Chris mentioned, if you’re using bp-default or a child theme of bp-default, invitation template tags will automatically be added in template per your setting via Site Admin > Invites – Edit Settings link.
In reply to: Activity stream as front page in BP 1.2.4, WP 3.0 b2@mike3ike it should but it fails at times, so for peace of mind either use locate_template or copy and paste the code in home.php or page template which @justbishop and stwc did
In reply to: Activity stream as front page in BP 1.2.4, WP 3.0 b2Then you can do it this way as well:
https://buddypress.org/community/groups/how-to-and-troubleshooting/forum/topic/homepage-other-than-activity-or-admin-blog-or-a-wp-page/?topic_page=2&num=15#post-47399
replace e.g. forums/index.php in the code to activity/index.phpIn reply to: “bp-sn-parent” theme missingTeatro Mágico is a child theme of bp-sn-parent, which was an official BuddyPress theme but is no longer supported in BP 1.2 version. So either you try to tweak it to use bp-default theme or choose another BuddyPress theme.

Plus to reflect URL in Menu go change the names of respective navigation list within header.php of bp-default themeIn reply to: How to remove default login formIn reply to: Seeing transparent background – not what I wantNeed your site url to better address css issue.
In reply to: Newly installed plugins redirect to Homepage.I can only speak for BP-Gallery.
In your test install, Make sure that you have moved the “gallery” folder from the bp-galleryrc4update2 plugin folder into your active theme folder. Remember to go to BuddyPress > Gallery Settings and set up your preferences as well, then save. Make sure you log out and then log back in again.Go to Settings > Permalinks and choose structure other than default permalink and save.
“I cannot put blog posts there.”
Sure you can, @muhammads92. just go to dashboard, Posts > New and post your blog. And, if you do not have a “Blog” in your main navigation, just create a new Page named e.g. “Blog” or “News” and publish it. Then go to Settings > Reading and choose “Static frontpage” and choose what you want for front page in dropdown then choose “home” or “News” in dropdown for blog page and save. And you are absolutely correct on both points, thank you

Now what is the SOP to make this come true?
