Can’t you post url to your test site? is it local? or screenshots maybe?
btw, if you go to wpmudev.org, there’re premium plugins to turn wpmu into social network without buddypress. That’s another option if your current problem doesn’t get solved.
Never use bp-sn-parent as it says.
There’s no hacking needed to use default theme.
Perhaps subdirectory is conflicting with buddypress, as I never done that before. It’s always recommended to use subdomains. Anyway, search the forum again with different keywords and wait for else to post here.
In reply to: Details About the New Theme ArchitectureJust to note my above problem is now fixed. Thanks to Brajesh.
In reply to: Settings gets 404You’re very much right. That fixed the problem. Thanks!
Make sure you have bp-sn-parent in the theme directory.
In reply to: Where is the dashboard link ?wp-admin? Why do you need to access it from BuddyPress? BuddyPress is designed and developed, so users won’t have to go to standard wp backend to configure and use the site, unless they have their own blog.
Anyway, all upgrade should be done manually (by FTP or SSH?). If you think your install is buggy, try reinstalling.
btw, have you set correctly so that new theme architecture to work?
In reply to: Blog Avatar?@Mohit You are very right. Blog avatar simply replaced by such service is just fine for me.
If you are requesting such features, you posted at wrong place.
If you need temp. assistance, you posted at right place.
Which one is it?
In reply to: Limiting Access to Registered Users? For temp. solution, have you read this sticky post?

In reply to: Fatal Error installing BP 1.0.3STOP bumping, STOP making duplicate posts…
In reply to: Page Not Found Error With 1.1Your problems seems nothing related to this topic. Your problem at first point is you didn’t configure wpmu as instructed on readme. Subdomain install requires extra configuration on httpd.conf, and/or which can easily be configured via cpanel if Yahoo has it.
My suggestion is to use Dreamhost for your client, since you have experience using them.
In reply to: Details About the New Theme ArchitectureI need feedback/help from folks trying out new themes.
I’m implementing buddypress into arthemina theme. I’ve so far managed to make all the buddypress pages work fine, except settings which it returns 404.
For other buddypress pages, it was just a matter of copying, for example copy profile folder from bp-sn-parent to arthemina theme to make it work. But there’s no theme for settings, so I now have no idea how I’m going to solve this 404 thing.
Please post your ideas/solution to this post.

In reply to: Settings gets 404Upgraded to 1.1RC, but settings page still returns 404.
I need to get feedback from other bp users who are using a standard wp theme to run buddypress.
In reply to: Custom.css and 1.1It’s written in readme.txt, I think. It should generally be under _inc/css.
In reply to: Settings gets 404I have my buddypress installed correctly, but not using default bp theme, and settings page return 404. This sounds like buddypress doesn’t run on any other theme but default.
I moved all the required files from bp-sn-parent to wp theme. Everything is working fine but settings (which is very much important…)
My site under development.

Maybe bp-core-settings.php is calling bp-sn-parent, which causes error? I’ve gotta check again..
In reply to: Ads with buddypressMost such wordpress plugins work with wpmu. The best thing is to build a test site, install each plugin that you are interested, and test it.
In reply to: Blog Avatar?wpmudev.org has a paid plugin to enable users to upload blog avatars. But not sure if it also works for BuddyPress…
In reply to: Where is add friend/message button css on 1.1 theme?Founded it. I didn’t copy one of two screen.css files.
btw, 1 in 5 times I get HTTP 404 error accessing this forum. What’s wrong with the server?
I haven’t seen this, but this should be added to core. Perhaps at 1.2?
In reply to: Buzzlyf.com – Indian Students BlogosphereI like how header background, logo, and menu are placed and designed. Very nice job!!
In reply to: Newslancer – A BuddyPress Site for JournalistsIt seems you need to customize how avatars are displayed.
In reply to: Upgrading to 1.1-rc/1.1-betareadme.txt says,
Move “/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-sn-parent” and
“/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/bp-default” to “/wp-content/themes/”
But when bp-themes does not exist, alert box with message below appears on General Settings page.
Please move the default BuddyPress themes to their correct location (move /var/www/html/test/wp-content/plugins/buddypress/bp-themes/ to /var/www/html/test/wp-content/bp-themes/) and reload this page.
Which is correct?
