In reply to: [Resolved] threaded comments won’t work after update
hmm well the behavior you are experiencing is not normal behavior as you can tell by the fact your test site works. it may be that you’re going to have to hire someone who knows more then either of us to fix it. i have a similar problem that developed and is not reproducible (at least not as far as i’m aware):
https://buddypress.org/support/topic/my-join-group-button-is-acting-funny/
if the problem isn’t in the files then i would suspect its some kind of database thing i suspect you have a similar issue.
In reply to: Achievements plugin update errorIn reply to: [Resolved] threaded comments won’t work after updatehave you tested this with the BP default theme?
In reply to: [Resolved] threaded comments won’t work after updatehave you tested this with the BP default theme? if the problem only occurs with your theme that might be a klew.
In reply to: Group avatar losing PNG transparencyok gotcha but i know it works for users:
http://gotgame.com/members/ohnorobo/
i didn’t do anything to make that happen and he never uploaded his avatar so i would think that has to be a gravatar.
In reply to: Group avatar losing PNG transparencyi noticed one of our users had transparency in his avatar but i’m almost certain it’s because he has a gravatar. maybe there’s a relatively painless way to trick BP into thinking a group has a gravatar? Pure conjecture but just a thought.
In reply to: Inline photo and video upload?well you can use oEmbeds without any modification or added plugins this also has the benefit of not burdening your own server with an unknown amount of data.
In reply to: Unable to paste YouTube code into profile fieldsnice one thanks for that might have to add an embed field to see what folks do with that.
In reply to: Unable to paste YouTube code into profile fieldsah gotcha so just put that into the bp-custom file then?
In reply to: Unable to paste YouTube code into profile fieldsoh i figured she was just talking about as an update. That code you have there is pretty cool @modemlooper would that work with any oEmbed or just youtube? you know me and code but it looks like it would work with any oEmbed. Also is that something which would be placed inside bp-custom? BTW i like your site design.
In reply to: Unable to paste YouTube code into profile fieldsno i’m saying if you put the link (as text not anchor tag) it will substitute the embed automatically it’s called an oEmbed more info here:
In reply to: Embedding images via url/linki don’t think you’re following here the urls that automatically embed content can only be from that list of pre approved sites you should read the whole page it clarifies how the whole thing works. Glad to be a help!
edit: i guess you can add to the whitelist but i believe it above my skill level explanation for that is towards the bottom of that page.
In reply to: Unable to paste YouTube code into profile fieldsfyi you should not be pasting embed code you should be pasting the youtube page url or shortlink for the video
In reply to: Buddypress + Multisite, Add New Site Optionwell there should be a button on your blogs page (or whatever you have named your network directory page).
In reply to: Embedding images via url/linkwell i think it’s only for sites on the whitelist:
In reply to: Adding group blog posts to the activity stream?ok
In reply to: Adding group blog posts to the activity stream?not me but i would assume it would best to do it that way since that’s the way buddypress itself is activated i would have to assume any buddypress plugin would be designed to work properly with networks at one point buddypress was WMPU only if i’m not mistaken.
please share your mod
In reply to: plugin to manually activate members WP 3.5!nobody is paid to help others here as such we do what we can to try and support each other.
In reply to: Adding group blog posts to the activity stream?is that a question?
In reply to: Adding group blog posts to the activity stream?i believe most (any?) BP plugins would also need to be network activated.
In reply to: Adding group blog posts to the activity stream? Are you saying that the main BP plugin can be run in network mode which in turn kind of aggregates all of the blogs?
i’m saying it must be as far as i’m aware anyway. What it aggregates is the activity on the network of blogs.
Right now, my setup is WPMU with all of the BP plugins running only on the main site. I wanted one single community area which blog owners can take part in when they aren’t working on their own blogs.
that area would reside on the primary blog/site. hope that helps. and i believe most (any?) BP plugins would also need to be network activated.
In reply to: Search Security Issue?if you can verify that on more then one site i’d say that makes perfect candidate for a trac ticket
In reply to: Will Buddypress do what I need?buddypress and bbpress (which i would argue shouldn’t even be thought of as separate plugins even though they technically are as they meant to work together) have you covered on the first 2 bullets the other stuff would require other solutions layered on top of wp/bp/bbp. said solutions could be plugins themes or even something a simple as a process you implement (such as using embedded services like google calendars). for what it’s worth i wouldn’t worry about adding s2 member to the mix did that once for a client was pretty strait forward.
In reply to: Adding group blog posts to the activity stream?well that’s not the way it works at all when network activated some aspects of buddypress provide network wide functionality but the front end display is only as i say on the primary blog/site for instance you can use buddypress to give your users the ability to create their own sub sites (in a more user friendly fashion then wordpress itself provides alone) and any activity on the various sub sites will be displayed in the network wide activity feed which again only displays on the primary blog by default.
