How about instead of just going to the forums to ask a simple question, you research it first? Always research before you ask on here, because 99% of the time, the question has already been answered in the past.
Please just add comments if you’re actually adding information (signal vs. noise) to help this Forum be a better place for everyone

From my knowledge, buddypress does not add ANY more roles to wordpress. SO, wordpress codex would be the place to go to learn about roles, and Paul Gibbs would give you the same exact answer.
He seems to be someone who should know the answers.
