I am the author of BP FriendPress and it works on all my test servers from WP 3.2.1 and BP 1.5.1 to the current versions. If its not working for you it would be the first I have encountered. Being that I am a former army ranger I want this topic resolved in a prompt manner! Having a bug is unacceptable and I will do my best to resolve it immediately!
