I just noticed that there’s an error in the way each function call is coded. Try this instead:

<?php __( next_posts_link( '« Previous Entries' ), 'buddypress' ) ?>

<?php __( previous_posts_link( 'Next Entries »' ), 'buddypress' ) ?>

Let me know if that works.
