It wouldn’t be that hard to make it work that way, nope. Though it might cause issues if we implemented digests of posts/etc.

My main concern in doing it this way would be that the notifications area in the buddybar might become a bit swamped. I know that on facebook I’ve started to ignore the notifications area because I simple got too tired of having to delete thousands of pointless invites/etc that I wasn’t interested in.
