To modify this the right way, you have to use the language file and an appropriate compilator such as poEdit to generate the mo file.Don’t know what solution you didn’t found, guess you have to search this forum for translation related topics.
A
verydirty solution would be to use this snippet and add it to your child-theme functions.phpfunction marketraisen_change_bp_update_text( $translated, $original_text, $domain ) { if ( 'buddypress' !== $domain ) return $translated; switch ( $original_text ) { case '%s posted an update': return '%s posted on'; default: return $translated; } } add_filter( 'gettext', 'marketraisen_change_bp_update_text', 10, 3 );In reply to: Business directoryIn reply to: Profile menu visibilityWhich icons are you talking about ?

In reply to: Only one result for certain types in members loopIt’s working for me.
Do the user_id exist ? If you use bp-default-date plugin, users have a 2 digit id.
Do you added the if has_members to your child-theme members-loop file ?Accepted sort order type are ‘active’, ‘random’, ‘newest’, ‘popular’.
If the included users never logged in they can’t be active or popular. And are considered as newest only if they match to include and max.
Try with ‘random’ and add user 11 and see if it change something.

In reply to: How to get top-bar and profile menu like bp orgHi @rosyteddy,
since BP 1.7 theme compatibility was introduced, which allowed the use of almost every theme on a BP powered site. Previously, you could practicaly only use bp-default theme. Since bp-default was removed (7569) from the install package, that theme lives his own life. A few time later, it was decided to publish the source code of the bp-default custom theme used on bp.org…
I wonder then why BP is not releasing this as a default theme for BP!
Don’t wonder ! Because devs wanted to concentrate on their plugin, not on a specifical theme. It tooks hard working to isolate bp-default. And certainly not to introduce a new one today. 😉
You have access to the source code. You’re free to use it and to skin it to your needs.
If you don’t see colors or any other elements, you have to check your work and redo it if you comes if you have errors or omissions.
Difficult to tell you what you did wrong. IMO nothing, but if you’re mixing your theme and bp-default à la bp.org, you missed probably somethings.
If you don’t know how to do this, you can hire somebody on BP Job Board forum.

please open your own topic and give details: what you want to do, what you already did or tried and what is not working.
What’s new (notice) editor is intended for short messages to users or site members and comes without publishing tools like the WP editor. The textarea is striped and accept only a few html tags, by default.
Because of basic security rules, file uploading from frontend is also restricted and not recommended to by-pass for that reason.
Other option where already mentionned by @rosyteddy
There is also BuddyDrive, intended for sharing almost any file types. In reply to: uploading images to sitewide activityYou have to ask on the plugin support forum, as post pictures are showed on swa with a default BP install.
In reply to: Reordering Activity Stream ButtonsThe dropdown is sorted alphabetically by default.
I don’t know how those plugins are workingbuilt, but with a little chance they have a language file.
“Buddypress Activity privacy” comes before “Buddypress Edit Activity”
Modify the name to get P after E !
“Buddypress Privacy Activity” or more simple: use Activity Edit and Activity PrivacyIn reply to: New plugin: BuddyPress IdenticonsThank you Henry for reactivity and improvement. 😉

In reply to: MediaPress & BadgeOS Conflict?Question related to this plugin can be asked on author’s blog.
As a first step, you can already repair this:
/wp-content/plugins/mediapress-master/
mediapress-master is the folder name assigned by github (where the plugin can be downloaded). You have to change this name to /mediapress/ before installing it.
Be aware that plugin is in beta phase and not recommended to be used on a live site, because it’s not completed and some bugs are still in.

In reply to: New plugin: BuddyPress IdenticonsHi all,
star rating is nice for author’s ego. Telling IT WORKS with version XX is good for the plugin itself ! 😉
In reply to: make activity stream work like twittersI don’t use that plugin so i can’t help you about making this. Better try by asking the plugin author, on the plugin support forum.
In reply to: Remove Sidebar from Profile Page(s)hi @alice-kaye,
this needs you to create a child theme first. So you can remove or add some conditionnals for
get_sidebar()Most of theme’s come with a sidebar.php file, see in the theme doc how to handle this.In reply to: New plugin: BuddyPress IdenticonsHi @bphelp, @rosyteddy, @peter-hamilton, @mcpeanut

In reply to: New plugin: BuddyPress IdenticonsMerci @henrywrigth for these explanation. 😉 You know now that i never read faq’s 👿 and i learned that BI is a nothing or all plugin.
In fact i read the faq, but haven’t remembered that point during myverynightly test…Great work anyway !
Forgot my question ! It’s not a theme issue, but a missing in the core. I was curious about that issue and tested it. And finally opened a ticket (#6246) with more details. Don’t hesitate to follow it and/or to give your opinion, patch or what ever can be considered as usefull to solve this bug. 😉
Hi,
which theme do you use ?
In reply to: make activity stream work like twittersDo you mean “friends” as BuddyPress hasn’t a follow option ?
Or do you use this plugin ?
