    This doesn’t need enhancement, as it is a unique string. You can modify it to your need very easily by using the language file (read here)

    The exact phrase used in BP 2.2.3.1 is:
    There was an error sending that message. Please try again.

    If you see “cant send a message”, you use an old BP version or a third party plugin. Check for this first if it is the case.

    FYI, there is also a ticket about error message, so consider your question as “work in progress”…

    Are you using this theme ? https://wordpress.org/themes/weaver-xtreme/

    Just tested it and seems to work correctly. As this theme comes with 30 (!) sub-themes, i haven’t tested all skins, just default and Black&White, but haven’t seen the issue you describe.
    Have you tested accordingly to Henry’s suggestion, and have you tried with other (sub-)theme colors

    Can you provide a screenshot of what you get ?

    Hi,
    You can search on this forum, they are many topics related to hosters. On my level, ovh, one&one are well noted european hoster.
    Or googling for some other ressource and recommandation to make your opinion.
    Choosing a host depends on many details like what you intend to do, how many people you expect, so it is just impossible to give an absolute answer for now.

    Good luck !

    Hi @godsdead,
    This should not be displayed to non-members. Normally, it is not displayed !
    By default, BP private group content is only for

    Only users who request membership and are accepted can join the group.
    This group will be listed in the groups directory and in search results.
    Group content and activity will only be visible to members of the group.

    Could it be possible that Paul invited mr dork to join the group ?

    While you’re in touch with the support team, ask them to install BuddyPres on your site or at least why you get this error. For me, it is not an issue related to BuddyPress.

    if i believe what is written by your host about PHP:

    For example, PHP hosting at One.com provides access to the following elements:
    PHP 5
    MySQL database
    Advanced dynamic websites

    Seriously, it’s a bit short (IMHO) to convience me that WP and BP can run correctly together. Maybe a generic phrase, maybe exact, but the only way to know it exactly is phpinfo.
    But for the moment, PHP 5 is not PHP 5.4 !
    More annoying, i haven’t found any technical information about a host plan, except disk space and prices of domain names.

    Personnaly, i won’t use such apparently poor hosting service.

    Could this cause any problems.

    Don’t know, but looks so, no ?

    It’s even better to install WP (and plugins) manually via FTP on your server, as not all automated installer are using updated version or correctly setup preconfigured install. If you’re sure you can do this, do it. 😉

    And if you’re sure you can do this, run phpinfo first, so you’ll also be sure you can (or not) use latest WP on that host. Remember that if you want to use WP + BP, you need php 5.4 and at least 64 mo of php memory_limit (128 recommended).

    I would also recommend you to read some general information about WP installation previously to any other action.

    If your site is slow is not related to the fact of adding/removing a link, even programmatically ! 😉
    Unadapted host plan, wrong settings, network issue, poor wifi connection and many, many other things can slow down a site.

    Have you at least the minimum requirements to use WP and BP ?
    https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/

    Requirements

    Run phpinfo if you’re unsure.

    There are no groups to display. Please try again later. doesn’t exist in BP 2.2.3.1
    Do you use a specific plugin for groups ?
    A similar phrase “There are no groups to display.” is only used in bp-groups/bp-groups-widget.php

    What do you think?

    Hum… 🚧 🎢 🙏 !

    Have you checked the right table ? It’s not in _bp_activity_meta, but in _usermeta, at least concerning the case of site admin.

    I mentionned this topic for information on this ticket:

    @jessicana,

    issue is fixed !
    Go to DB and open wp_usermeta table
    Search for user_id and meta_key
    site admin is user_id = 1
    meta_key is bp_favorite_activities

    and modify meta_value which is frozen… no idea why…
    The value looks like a:1:{..some content…} change it to a:0{…some content ….} – no need to change “some content”

    Return to front, add and remove favorite. Normally the counter should now indicate increasing and decreasing count.

    Ok, forget previous question. Seems to be a bug for site admin only.
    Can you test as simple user and not as site admin.

    Odd…what if you have 3 favorite, add one, then remove it ?
    Does other counters work (members, message…) correctly ?
    Have you tested with one of Twenty’s theme ?

    Have you removed BP Remove Profile Links plugin, as it was tested up to: WordPress 3.6 beta2 BuddyPress 1.8 beta1. Could be outdated after 2 years and without need if you use the snippet now.

    You have also to test your site with one of Twenty theme first.

    No matter the theme or the marketplace, first thing to take in mind is how to respect the standart.

    Getting started

    @danbp

    Participant

    One crucial question to all: which theme do you use ?
    Have you similar issue by using one of WP’s twenty theme ?
    Have you searched in your theme documentation ? Remeber that we do not support commercial products here as we have no access to the code.

    Also:
    The Toolbar is related to WordPress, BuddyPress use it only to add a sub-nav block under Howdy on the top right corner.

    And what is the problem ? Or you add 150 if.... or much simplier, don’t use a list and let each user enter his job manually instead of let him choose it from a list.

    Try this (untested)

    function clickable_job_on_member_directory() {
    	if ( bp_is_active( 'xprofile' ) ) {
    		$user_id = bp_get_member_user_id();
    		$myjob = xprofile_get_field_data( 'Job', $user_id );

    	if ( $myjob == 'vendor' ) :
    		$search_url   = add_query_arg( array( 's' => urlencode( $myjob ) ), bp_get_members_directory_permalink() );
    		echo '<br/><div class="my_job"><a href="' . esc_url( $search_url ) . '" rel="nofollow">' . $myjob . '</a></div>';
    	endif;

    	if ( $myjob == 'analyst' ) :
    		$search_url   = add_query_arg( array( 's' => urlencode( $myjob ) ), bp_get_members_directory_permalink() );
    		echo '<br/><div class="my_job"><a href="' . esc_url( $search_url ) . '" rel="nofollow">' . $myjob . '</a></div>';
    	endif;

    	if ( $myjob == 'secretary' ) :
    		$search_url   = add_query_arg( array( 's' => urlencode( $myjob ) ), bp_get_members_directory_permalink() );
    		echo '<br/><div class="my_job"><a href="' . esc_url( $search_url ) . '" rel="nofollow">' . $myjob . '</a></div>';
    	endif;
    	}
    }
    add_filter ( 'bp_directory_members_item', 'clickable_job_on_member_directory' );

    Here’s another approach, as we going to use an external function instead of modifying the template.

    Add this to bp-custom.php

    function clickable_countries_on_member_directory() {
    // is xprofile component active ?
    if ( bp_is_active( 'xprofile' ) ) {

    	if ( $mycountry = xprofile_get_field_data( 'Country', bp_get_member_user_id() ) ) :
    		$search_url   = add_query_arg( array( 's' => urlencode( $mycountry ) ), bp_get_members_directory_permalink() );
    		echo '<br/><div class="my_country"><a href="' . esc_url( $search_url ) . '" rel="nofollow">' . $mycountry . '</a></div>';
    	endif;

    	}
    }
    add_filter ( 'bp_directory_members_item', 'clickable_countries_on_member_directory' );
