    when I create another social network

    How are you creating another social network? I’ve not seen this myself – I run a wp-ms with buddypress.. it is one social network, in which each user can create new blogs (which the system calls creating a new “site” (which is stupid imho)) – but not seen an option to create new social networks.. so I am confused what you mean.

    I’ve run into the same problem and asked for ideas around here and seen others that have posted about it in the yoast forums a few times – don’t know why yoast does not get into the bp pages thing. I got some help from the wpmu-dev guys that cobbled together some code that creates page titles and meta descriptions for members and groups pages – which is awesome!

    Does not fix the member/username/messages and similar sub-sub pages (but I block those with robots.txt wildcard matching anyhow)

    Would like to see buddypress pages added to some kind of taxonmie thing that yaost would auto pickup.. and love to see the options for setting templates within buddypress itself, so as to not rely on yaost for some this, and custom mu=plugins hack to fix other parts of it… google’s webmaster tools alerts missing info on many pages of an active bp site, and has for a long time.

    Isn’t this something that “press permit core” plugin does out of the box? Maybe I am missing what is needed here.

    Are you just trying to add all new members to one blog? If so I think there are options for that.
    If you are wanting to create just a few blogs and auto add all your users to those, I think that is possible in some easy ways (some plugins I played with a while back I think)

    If you are wanting new blogs to be created by other users and those used by other users / groups.. I have not played with that kind of scenario outside of a multi-site setup where users (all) were auto added one blog that was already setup by me – so not sure what you are trying to do exactly.

    OMG! Thanks soooo much for this! I’ve been trying to find ways of doing exactly this for a long time!

    Any chance that this can also do the same thing for the “buddypress groups” gravatars?

    I found with one site on one server – any emails sending via php had a weird return header thing from my server that did not get through some of this big three email clients no spam lists..

    a plugin similar to https://wordpress.org/plugins/postman-smtp/

    may change your wp to send via an smtp account on your server instead of php using a weird default server header.. you may need to create an smtp account for that work.. and even so there are other factors that could limit your email getting through.. (some shared servers are on backlist, some web hosting companies are given minus points, even if your web site is on the up and up)

    There are a lot of things that could cause it to fail the ‘real mail’ test at some of these services..

    For me, the plugin “good question” fixed 95% of spam regs.. similar to “buddypress humanity”…

    I use that plugin, and in the settings (superadmin dashboard -> buddypress tab -> Activyt block

    I have this in the box for “blocked activity types”
    deleted_group_document, new_blog, new_member, joined_group, friendship_created, activity_liked

    works for me for now.. even though there is an error with that plugin…
    Warning: Missing argument 2 for wpdb::prepare(), called in wp-content/plugins/buddypress-block-activity-stream-types/admin/bp-activity-block-admin.php on line 6 and defined in /wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 1154

    Someone did a fork / update of that plugin which fixes some things, but last I checked it was on github and not the official wp repo – (post here: https://buddypress.org/support/topic/which-file-and-how-to-sort/#post-231515 )

    @omigosh – I have not seen that before.. does it go away if you deactivate your other plugins? (if so, it’s one of your other plugins doing that)

    does it go away if you change to the default twenty fourteen theme? (if so it’s your theme doing that)

    I would assume they are listed as pending because they did not get click an activation in email yes.

    Now does that mean that your server sent an email correctly and they actually recieved the email? Who knows.. sometimes my bp emails get auto-blackholed for some email services and users will never get an email from my bp site if they have say “gmail” or yahoo or something… (there are different methods for sending email via wordpress, some are less “flagged-as-spam-automatically” than others.. sometimes users do get the emails but they end up in a junk folder..

    sometimes it’s spammers trying to setup a fake account and they never will click on activate…

    if you start to get a lot of these, you might want to look into how your wp install is sending emails, what the headers look like, and see if you can adjust with something like a “wp mail via smtp” plugin or something.. and if you need to manage a bunch of pending users you might want to see if https://wordpress.org/plugins/unconfirmed/ is working with current bp version..

    random thoughts, hope they help.

    @tramford – I think when you are logged in, you hover over your screen name in the top right admin bar, and that has a hover menu with link to your profile (?)

    the bp-social theme (not free) has a kind of sub menu with a profile link that shows at top of pages, below the admin bar, but I am not sure how they coded that. I imagine there is a simple bp-template tag available that you could hardcode into a theme.

    I just checked on one of my bp-installs, and when I go to appearance->menus ; I have a list of a few pages that can be added to the menu and I did not see an option for “profile” like you are saying.. however, under that list of pages on the left is like a button bar titled “budypress” with a dropdown caret showing – if I click that I have an option for profile and some other bp related pages.. I had never noticed that before, not sure if you will find that there with your install setup ?

    @matt2012 – you should ask at the s2member site about that.

    @affordablewebsitesdenvercom – have you checked your web server error logs? I would also check with your host to see if they are employing “modsec” – I had semi-similar problems when my host updated the modsec module for the web server, and it prevented almost all “ajax-post” or ajax-save things that were going on with one of my bp installs.

    @jessiewordpress – might want to check out either “good question” (change default question / answers!) – or ‘buddypress humanity’ as well. They have made a huge impact on the spam registration issues we used to deal with.

    @alice-claire – no idea if my issue is the same as yours, hoever I recently had some major problems when my web host added or updated the ‘modsec’ apache module… it prevented my wp from saving all kinds of things (widgets and more) – once my host turned off modsec for ajax post/save or something like that, things started to work.. but my bp database got corrupted from the attempted and failed saves.. so I had to export and change hosts..

    my wp backend showed things were saving.. but the site and database were not accepting the changes. You may have a similar thing going on.

    @escapandodelsistema – so you disable all plugins, then enable buddypress. Open your site in a new tab, it works… then go to your first tab and enable your first plugin “Add From Server” – then go to your other open tab, refresh page.. do this for each plugin until you find the one that is causing the 500 error.

    you may find it is one plugin that is the issue, or you may find that it is a combo of three plugins that cause the problem. Odds are you are going to have to hunt down the other problem plugin author for help.

    I think you are playing with the old bp default theme files which are no longer being used(?)

    see – https://codex.buddypress.org/themes/bp-default-theme-moving-forward-with-bp-1-9/

    and perhaps -> https:// codex.buddypress .org/themes/

    although I am pretty sure a bunch of the info on that buddypress .org / themes is talking about the old ways of doing things.. so check dates.. I think a bunch of that info is deprecated… however you may find what you are looking for in the codex..

    maybe what you are looking for in relation to profiles is touched on here: https://codex.buddypress.org/themes/guides/displaying-extended-profile-fields-on-member-profiles/

    I think your question is more related to the particular theme you are using. Which I believe has a support forum here: http://seventhqueen.com/support/

    I am sure there are multiple ways to achieve what you are asking, but it would likely be customizing some php stuff or getting into plugins.. and I think you are asking more about the functions of the theme you have there. I doubt many if any here can provide you the the details about modding your theme settings for that one.

    try the rtmedia plugin ( https://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress-media/ ) or the newer and upcoming media press : http://buddydev.com/buddypress/presenting-mediapress-media-plugin-will-ever-need-buddypress/

    These may do what you are asking about if I understand your question.

    you might be able to play with one of these two plugins from the wp-repo
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/bp-extend-widgets/
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/dynamic-widgets/

    and get some settings within to display your timely thing depending on conditions or something.. certainly this will be easier with a small group of groups.. and probably not ideal if you were trying to do a large amount of groups that would auto-pull in the right required data dynamically – I am guessing.. not sure..

    maybe try to create a new page (not a post!) – in the dashboard – call it “register-new” and another page (not a post!) called “activate-me”

    then associate those pages in the buddypress config area ( https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/configure-components/#settings-buddypress-pages )

    not sure if that will fix your issue, I have not seen that one.. except when permalinks needed to be resaved due to an error that another plugin created. (had to disable the other bad plugin too)

    @djsteveb

    @nfljets2002
    Have you created a new page (not a post) called register?

    have you associated that page in the BP settings as described here: https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/configure-components/

    ??

    @djsteveb

    not sure why this is of concern, and I am not a bp expert.. however I would make a full backup of all files (via ftp or filemananager with a zip or something) – then export a copy of your database (through phpmyadmin for example (be sure to check off the box for “add drop table (or whatever it is called) –

    then go in and delete the old theme that is still showing up in appearance themes…

    and if everything is still working.. then your problem is solved (?)

    @marisams – disable ALL plugins, switch back to default theme like 2014.. reenable buddypress.. does it work?

    Also check to see if you have anything in wp-content/mu-plugins/ or anything in wp-content/plugins/bp-custom.php

    I have no idea if this will help you, but something similar / related I played with a while back: https://wordpress.org/plugins/unconfirmed/

    @mrgoldfinder23
    have you disabled all your other plugins to see if there is a conflict with plugins first?

    Have you tried it with default 2014 theme to see if the issue is with just one theme or also defaults?

    I just posted a little more detail on the same issue on the other thread similar (started by @griswolddad) here: https://buddypress.org/support/topic/profile-pics/#post-233045
