Is BuddyPress still be developed?
Yes it is. You can suscribe to latest dev updates at https://bpdevel.wordpress.com/ where I’ve just posted the contributors’ priorities for BP 2.3.0. If you have time, please feel free to participate in our 2015 BuddyPress Survey at https://buddypress.org/2015/02/2015-buddypress-survey/

John James Jacoby replied to the topic New WP Role with access to Groups and Activity in dashboard. in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 9 years, 9 months ago
I gave the Role bp_moderate but that did not solve the issue. There must be some other check that needs to be passed for these menu items to show up.
You may want to put a late filter on
map_meta_cap
to ensure it’s truly getting added, and not getting stomped or mapped back tomanage_options
.Maybe a compromise could be found and some new…

Hey @ubernaut. All thoughtful consideration is appreciated and encouraged, but your “doesnβt currently exist in buddypress” response was neither, considering @skyrant appeared to already frustrated by BuddyPress not performing to his expectations.
It was also inaccurate, as functions like
bp_current_user_can()

Hey @skyrant, project lead chiming in here. Apologies for @ubernaut‘s response; it doesn’t come across as very helpful or inviting, nor does it point you in any directions as to where to start building this type of functionality, which is the type of helpful reply I would expect from our forums normally.
You’ll want to look into WordPress’s

Henry Wright replied to the topic [Resolved] Remove RSS Feeds in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 10 years, 4 months ago
@ubernaut perhaps there’s a privacy concern if their site is a closed community? I’ve also heard how some people choose to disable RSS feeds because it is an easy way for sites to scrape their content.

@ubernaut easiest way is to view source of the webpage and look for “function getData” where the tree starts and you’ll see content of each branch.

Henry Wright replied to the topic You tube link in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 10 years, 9 months ago
@ubernaut is right – it’s called oEmbed and it’s a feature provided by WordPress core. BuddyPress supports oEmbeds in activity updates by default. If you’re not seeing a YouTube video after pasting in a YouTube video’s link, then there is possibly a problem with your theme.

@hnla Yes you are right, I would be responsible to support it as a premium theme. So I will have to submit it to the directory and just spend a bit more time developing it I guess.
@ubernaut thanks I hope it would be useful to people.

Henry Wright replied to the topic Dealing with deleted members (Redirects) in the forum How-to & Troubleshooting 10 years, 10 months ago
@ubernaut The problem is internal broken links – the activity stream might have items in it that aren’t removed that point to a user’s profile. Then there are manual links user’s have posted themselves – @-mentions in activity updates, in activity comments, in blog comments, in blog posts, and inside private messaging threads. The list is quite…[Read more]

Hi @ubernaut
Yes, if WangGuard detect a user as splogger and you mark it as not splogger, he is flagged as “Checked Forced”. That will force to WangGuard to accept that user as good user at your WordPress.
But if you mark a user as Splogger, and then, you mark it again as Not Splogger, he is flagged as Checked user and he is removed from…[Read more]
