Thanks for the suggestions. I actually figured out why nothing was changing on my end. As dumb as it sounds, it was the caching plugin on my site. I disabled it and reloaded the page and boom, fixed. Very frustrating, especially since I cleared my wordpress cache and my browser cache multiple times. Who woulda thunk.
