@danhay – It’s disabled, but you can still edit it! 
(it’s kind of a hack!)
Make sure you’re logged in to the WP admin area, then go to:
http://example.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=bp-profile-setup&group_id=1&field_id=1&mode=edit_field
Change example.com to your website address.
