On the permalinks: what settings do you have for your permalinks (in wp-admin … settings)?

Please post as much information as you can, e.g. the url of some of the pages that are failing.

On the activity stream: only new blog posts (not existing ones) should show up in the stream. What happens if you create a new blog post, does that show up?
