Great that you are willing to pick this up (if everything goes to plan). About your plans with a Media plugin.. I like it, but to be honest besides BP Album+ we also have BP-Gallery from Brajesh (buddydev.com) which already does photo/video and audio quite well (it will be released to the public in the upcoming months). So while I encourage all development, you might take a look at things that haven’t been done at all..
